Decided to stay here because of the mostly excellent reviews on here.

Overall the campsite is good. It is not too large, has friendly owners, nice and clean loos and there is good walking and cycling nearby.

I like the idea of the communal deck area with free wifi and the hiring of braziers etc.

I was disappointed by the lack of privacy to pitches (there is none) and some pitches were a little small and close together.

Also the road noise as mentioned before, is a pain. You want to feel like you are in a quiet, country meadow but you have constant road noise until late.

If you are sited on the pitches furthest away from the road, you lose the sun early. So you need to decide what is more important to you and request this at time of booking.

The camping meadow for tents is a lovely idea. I can imagine anyone staying there would give the site 10 out of 10 as you can have lots of space and are further from the road. This campsite is not really suitable for big motorhomes and we felt dwarfed by the one sited next to us.

Good luck to the owners. They are working hard and it is obviously a very popular site, but the lack of privacy and road noise means it is not for me.

Love love love this site. Have stayed in a few along this stretch of road and this is easily my favourite. It is friendly immaculately clean and tidy. The shower block is amazing. The owners work so hard and this shows. Great spot for dog walking and bike rides. Will only be using this site for this area.

I like the idea of an adult only site. Was very relaxed, welcoming and dog friendly. Flat and convenient for walking and traffic-free trails. Bordered by a stream and surrounded by trees. Sites were well laid out. Lovely washrooms / showers. We were charged £20 for a one night stay, although £17 is quoted on the web site. I think that this is a tad expensive and a bit of a cheek to advertise 'free showers' as one of its selling points. The site is near a busy road which disturbed us during the night although other reviewers have commented that you can get used to it if you stay for an extended period. A good option rather than the somewhat commercialised sites that are its neighbours

Just had an amazing 10 days at The Meadows. Our first time, but won't be our last!

Friendly, quiet, and SPOTLESS! John and Lynn couldn't do enough, providing a welcome map of things to do etc on arrival. Dog friendly and tasty baguettes. Clean showers and loos no matter what time of day. What more can you ask for?

From butterflies, dragonflies and birds around us in the day with buzzards overhead to pheasants and owls on an starry evening as we sat around a firepit.

With John's baguettes in a morning and speciality nights you can even get away from cooking!

A short distance from pretty fishing villages and great musems to gardens and wonderful dog friendly beaches. A walk along the river to lovely pubs with great meals. Its got everything for that quiet getaway you are looking for, without the kids.

This is a small friendly site with helpful owners. The facilities were very good and the site was well tended. The cycle path can be reached directly from the site and we rode to Heligan, very easy, and Mevagissey, a bit more challenging. The nearest pub is also along the cycle path, an easy walk. We enjoyed the Pizza evening.

Unfortunately, the site is close to a very busy road and the noise from the constant traffic was very intrusive. I just didn't feel the peace of the country side and even tried ear plugs one morning. The site is surrounded by trees so there is no view either. Because of the road noise we would not return to this site.

 Gorgeous, friendly little campsite.

Owners are wonderful and have created an absolute haven. Great toilet and shower block (with hairdryer!), yummy breakfast rolls. Sadly I missed the pizza van and cocktails (bad timing on my part!).

The site is next to a road but I didn't find it disturbing. At night it's quiet enough to hear owls and pheasants.

I camped in the meadow which was lovely, but I think I could have done with a bit of shade - the sun was very strong.

It rained heavily on a couple of days and I didn't get washed out - the rain soaked away very quickly. It helped that they have strategic drainage ditches, and the camping area isn't compacted by vehicles.

A gem of a site, I will be back. I just wish it wasn't such a long journey!

Our favorite campsite ever, almost want to keep it a secret and not write a review but I have to as we loved it sooooo much.

We originally only booked 3 nights on our last week in Cornwall but after meeting the owners and having a show around we booked another 2 nights.

The owners bend over backwards for you and are so friendly, its such a nice natural site with a fun meadow for tents and best of all child free, meaning peace and quiet for all.

There is a love for VW camper vans here and we fitted right in although ours is a later one.

There are charming retro caravans on site and on tuesdays a local caterer came on site to make pizza in a log burning oven followed by a very nice VW T2 serving cocktails.

Thursday was paella and cocktail night.

You really must try these and the breakfast bagets on offer.

There is a lovely walk from the site along a river to Pentewan village and beach of just over a mile and the gorgeous fishing prot at Mevigissy is further down the road.

Fantastic site and a full 10 out of 10 for us.

See you again very soon.

We were given a warm welcome from the owners when we arrived and we were given a lovely pitch, where l could chat to the 'girls' and sit on a bench and watch the birds feeding.

The toilets are spotless whatever time of the day you go in there, plenty of hot water and good pot washing facilities

The site is a good spot for site seeing, and if its plants you want then the Nurseries next door are very reasonably priced.

Nothing is too much trouble for the owners, they have one of the nicest campsites we have been too, Without doubt we will be returning.

 A gem of a site.

We stayed for week last summer in late June. The toilet/shower facilities are excellent and kept immaculately clean - The best we've experienced in the UK for sure. Laundry facilities are also available which is important if you're planning to stay more than a couple of days.

The site is next to the road so choose a pitch out in the meadow or away from the road if you can.

The owners put in a great deal of effort to maintain this site and should be commended for the result.

There is plenty to do pottering around this part of Cornwall and St. Austell has shops and supermarkets.

Just had an idyllic week at this lovely site, the previous reviews say it all. The road is a bit noisy but we found we didn't notice it after a day. Motor-caravanners would find this an ideal site to use the bus service, we took the bus to Heligan and received discount on our entry to the gardens on production of our bus tickets. It was nice to pop down to Mevagissey on the bus and not have to pay for parking too. We downloaded a bus timetable in advance, 'Western Greyhound' is the operator. John and Lyn are lovely hosts and are constantly checking the spotless facilities. Hang up some bunting on your unit, you may end up in the 'gallery' on their website!(we did)
