We have just arrived home after staying at this site for 9 nights in our caravan, the first impression is that the site is lovely but there are a few things which could be improved, firstly the toilets and showers were not sufficient for the number of pitches when the site is full as 4 toilets and 3 showers in the ladies and mens is not enough
The owners relaxed attitude towards dogs being allowed to run free off the lead is not something we agreed with, otherwise the site was ok each pitch has its own bin which was very handy these bins were emptied each day by the farmer
It is quit close to the town and harbour and several pubs, the Black Lion has sky sports.
If you are thinking of going we recommend the August bank holiday as there is a carnival in town which was excellent, the beach is stones which were hard to walk on but to your left after the rugby club there is a nice coastal path

Stayed here for 2 nights following a stay at my sisters in Chippenham, it was on our way back home of sorts. We selected this site for its coastal location and after reading other reviews. Overall the site was as previously described, beautiful location right by the sea in a lovely part of west Wales. Unfortunately you don’t get a sea view although we were pitched on number 57 right along the coastal end, in one of the two camping fields. The tree/bush lined edges prevent a sea view although you can hear the waves breaking along the shore. The shrubs provide some well appreciated shelter during windy times, as expected when camping on the coast. Direct access to the coastal path for a nice stroll.
The site is pretty basic regarding facilities, the toilets/shower blocks although dated are kept clean and well maintained. Only one washing up sink, unsheltered without any shelves or such to place your dishes whilst washing. My wife also informed me that the ladies shower block must have been designed by a man because although there are plug sockets and mirrors, there are no shelves to put your stuff on whilst drying hair etc. Same thing with the showers nowhere to put towels / clothes other than on the floor.
Pitches all seem flat and grassy and are around the border of two fields, some with electric hook up. The pitches themselves are quite ‘snug fitting’ and marked out clearly. We managed ok.
In our smallish Vango 500 but you would struggle with a large family sized tent and vehicle, we had barely enough room to fit a table/cooking area and car to the side, although there is plenty of room to park a vehicle in front of the pitch if needed. Personally, I like a bit more space between pitches for both privacy and peace.
Nice touch with a bin on almost every pitch, which is emptied daily. Tom who took our phone booking and met us upon arrival was also very friendly and helpful.
In the area, 5 mins away from local town of Aberaeron which should satisfy most needs with all your usual amenities garage/late shop/banks/local shops and several nice looking pubs and restaurants/take away. The little harbour is very pretty and I can highly recommend the New Celtic Fish & Chip restaurant (eat in or take away) lovely cod and chips. Approx 7 miles away is the resort of New Quay and this was a lovely place well worth a visit although steep hills when walking around. We saw dolphins swimming within 100 yards of the harbour wall.
In short, a small basic but clean site in lovely location right by the sea. Pitches could be larger and facilities could be modernised / improved. Not the best site we’ve ever stayed on but I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice clean, peaceful site with basic facilities.

First visit to this site and this part of Wales, we spent five nights here and had lovely weather.
The site office is the first caravan on the field, not marked at all; I went to the house and read the small note on the door that directed me there! The young couple managing the site are very friendly and helpful.
The site is two level fields, the first one seems to be full of caravans that are either there permanently or for long periods of time, and the second is mainly tents with the odd caravan. The grass is kept short and tidy. Pitches are allocated before arrival and are arranged around the perimeter mainly, although they were setting up pitches down the centre of our field for the bank holiday weekend. I am not sure how they were going to cope with all those extra campers when the ladies toilet block had just five toilets and three showers and three sinks! The men only had three showers too.
The site is well draining, we did have some heavy rain at night but there were no puddles in the morning. Plenty of dustbins arranged around and water points with a Belfast sink under. The dish washing facility was an uncovered Belfast sink (the only one with hot water) at the shower block, no drainer.
The shower blocks were always open and always clean. They could do with updating though. The showers had nowhere to put your soap/shower gel or shampoo except on the floor!
There is an opening onto the beach and coastal path at the ends of the fields. The beach is pebbles large and small; don’t think our dogs were too keen walking on them! Our son did use our inflatable dingy from the beach but the pebbles are almost impossible to walk on bare footed.
The town of Aberaeron is a flat 5/10 minute walk along the front. Very pretty town with its Georgian multi coloured houses, all looking fresh and well cared for. There are plenty of shops and eateries and a pretty harbour. Only the pubs, takeaways and restaurants are open in the evening.
New Quay is worth a visit, very pretty old town where we watched Dolphins from the harbour wall!
Five days was enough for us though, not that much to do on that part of the coast with two big dogs in tow anyway!

Just arrived back from this wonderful site after 6 nights. The owners were friendly on arrival, and the site is well laid out with spacious pitches some slightly uneven and you might need some rock pegs on some.
The toilet block is nice and kept very clean. Aberaeron is only a 5 min walk away with a Costcutters and other various shops for all your needs.
We were pitched on pitch 24 which is last but one pitch from the coastal path and was great to just stroll onto the beach with a mug of tea to watch some spectacular sunsets.
The beach is rocky with some patches of sand but not ideal for digging sandcastles and more suitable for rock pooling, I found a 2ft dead Dogfish which is part of the shark family and has some nasty teeth on it.
The first 4 days was excellent weather and couldn't have asked for more but the last 2 days it became quite windy as it can being so close to the sea, so we decided to end our hols a day early.
It cost us £14 a night without electric which I would say was well worth it. As mentioned before the site could do with better washing up facilities but we made do with boiling the kettle and a bowl instead.
Also the showers although good could be quite slippery for some people as they slope and become quite slippy when wet.
We will definitely be going back as it is a very peaceful site with great access to the beach and lovely surroundings.

‘Camping on the Farm’, two large flat fields provide camping with direct access to sea defence wall/coastal walkway. Camping is provided around the perimeter of the field, leaving wide open space in the centre of the field. Facilities basic but clean.
No wash up area except for just one Belfast sink by toilet block! No shop or laundry on site. ‘Beach’ is peddled with no sand, but kayaking access is afforded from the site.
Aberaeron (a very picturesque buzzing village and harbour) is an easy 5/10 minutes stroll along sea defence wall and provides many good local shops, bars and restaurants.
Fishmonger and restaurant by harbour has excellent fresh caught fish plus makes their own ‘honey’ ice cream – worth a try.
This is an ideal base for touring this area of Wales, if you don’t mind rudimentary site facilities on this quiet site.

Just arrived back from 5 nights at this site. The site is split into two with all the pitches around the edge leaving a big field in the middle for children to play etc.
he pitches were not very big though and we couldn't fit our average sized 4 man family tent (vango diablo 400)and the car on the pitch so it was lucky we had no-one next to us.
The site backs directly onto a very pebbly beach which was impossible for our 2 year old and dog to walk on. There was also no gate or anything to stop anyone walking onto the site and we saw several people from the next site along walk through our site.
The toilet block was inadequate for the size of the site with only 4 toilets and 3 showers in the ladies and could do with some updating, although they were quite clean (apart from all the spiders and cobwebs) I think we paid a fair price for what you get.
There is no washing up facilities apart from a belfast sink outside the toilets, with no where to put your dishes and no shelter.

I booked this site for four nights. My boyfriend and I came to this site on Monday having spent the two nights before in another part of Wales being battered by the wind on the coast so we decided that when we got there if it wasn't sheltered then we would stay in a B&B.
When we arrived I knocked at the house and was greeted by a lovely lady and I'm sorry I didn't get her name she was so helpful and we tried finding a sheltered pitch but in the end we decided that out of fear for our tent we would give up and stay at a B&B for a few nights until hopefully the weather improved and come back to spend the last few days there. This was no problem she kept our pitch open for us and recommended a B&B she even refunded the money for the two nights which was great and unexpected.
The town of Aberearon is beautiful and there's a few pubs I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a lot of choice for restaurants.
Fortunatly the sun came out on the Wednesday and set up pitch its a great little site the location is ideal. You are right on the footpath that takes you into town in about 10 mins and you are right on the pebble beach.
We got fish and chips and ate them on the rocks at sunset.
Its a very quiet site no playground or anything but lots of space for kids to run about and the site soon started to fill up with the good weather the ground is rocky so take good strong pegs.
The toilets and showers were always spotless and site wardens at the house are more than happy to freeze ice packs for you. If you are looking for a quiet site that's close to shops and pubs then this is for you. We also have to recommend the harbour master restaurant the food and service was excellent we went there twice it was so good. For days out there is a national trust house about 15mins away and its only half an hour drive to Aberystwyth.

Large site brilliant for kids to play. Straight on to pebble beach brilliant for crabbing.
Both my teenagers and I went 5 mins to lovely harbour and village
Anyone that complains about this site must be picky or stay in 5star hotels.
Remember folks you are camping and you don't have all the mod cons all time
ps we were there for 2 weeks at end of July and site was full but we never waited for toilet or shower. Site was always quiet and we are going back in 2 years time as it is lovely

Just arrived home after 8 days at Drefnewydd farm site. We have had a wonderful time from the first day of arrival to the last!
The owners are extremely friendly, helpful and attentive.
The site consists of two large fields with the tent/caravan pitches around the edges of each field. This means that there is a massive area in the middle of each field for football, cricket, frisbees etc. Absolutely ideal for kids!
There are numerous bins provided around the site (about one bin per two pitches) as well as a recycling area for paper, tins, bottles and so on.
The toilet block is kept very clean and tidy with plenty of hot water for the showers, although proper dish washing facilities, instead of the Belfast sinks, would not go amiss.
At the top end of each field is access to the Caernarfon coastal walk which is very picturesque and is quite easy walking. Our dog absolutely loved it.
The town of Aberaeron is about a ten minute stroll along the coastal path which brings you out in the histotic harbour area. There are many pubs, shops, restaurants and cafes within the town and we can thoroughly recommend The New Celtic restaurant, (fish, chips, pies, peas, etc. ) The Castle Hotel, (excellent bar and restaurant), Owains the Butchers, and Friends cafe. All very well run, friendly and value for money.
Within easy reach by car are the towns of Newquay, Aberporth, Aberystwith, Lampter, and Cardigan, where we spent many a happy hour.
Overall we thought this to be one of the best sites we have visited in Wales to date, and would highly recommend it to any prospective camper or caravanner.

Overall a very nice site. As instructed we arrived without booking first and found no around to see to us but as it wasn't very busy another customer told us to just pitch where we wanted. We did see the owner the next day and all was well. She was very helpful and friendly indeed. Nothing was too much trouble and she gave us some tips about the area.
The site is kept very clean with plenty of toilets, showers and basins given that it wasn't very busy but would not be adequate if it was high season. There is a dustbin on each pitch with recycling facilities over near the shower and toilet block. Washing up for campers is very basic and NOT under cover.
Site is very close to the sea and you can walk along the front to Aberaeron harbour which is very nice.
Would definitely go back again.
