 What a wonderful site!

Just had a short break with 2 kids and the dog and can't believe how lucky we got finding this site.

Close enough to surrounding towns and the forest of dean with lots to do near by but you still feel like you're miles from day-to-day life!

The field was well kept, although we didn't see anyone on arrival there were instructions and found a lovely little spot where we had plenty of room for kids and dog and could have a campfire. The toilet block had 2 clean, well kept toilets and a shower. Also the loan room was a brilliant idea! The kids loved borrowing the toys and when the rain came we all had a game of monopoly! There was also lots of information on local attractions and hints and tips.

We only had one small problem and that was the flies by the river and the sheep in the next field woke us at 5am! But there are worse sounds to wake up to! Also would recommend buying some wood from the local garage for a fire.

We really enjoyed our time and intend to go back.

Just returned from a long bank holiday at Meredith farm, It is a Beautiful unspoilt site with very basic facilities but perfectly suited for type and amount of pitches that it holds.

It is great to go to a site were you don't get bogged down with rules and regulations. You have an unbelievable amount of space for kids to play or have a camp fire. The owner obviously thinks very highly of his guests, he is very pleasant and always willing to assist or help you out.

The owner has been very thoughtful when it comes to his guests,There is a LOAN ROOM which has every thing from books and novels to hairdryers and mallets, Its is very well stocked of many of the items you may require on your holidays. There are even toys and games for the younger guests which my children really enjoyed. My 8 yr old thoroughly enjoyed leaving notes on 'THE TRAVELERS TREE' where you can put notes about what you have seen and where you have been and for £7 per night it CANNOT be beaten.

Many Thanks for a super holiday, will defo be going again.

What a smashing spot, you almost want to keep it a secret! We got a warm welcome from Neil the owner and 10 acres to choose where to pitch, so there is plenty of room to burn out the kids.

The site felt quiet and remote but you are within a 10 minute drive of Ross on Wye. Facilities are basic and 1 toilet and shower might be stretch if the site is up to capacity, but they were fine when we stayed and cleaned daily. There is also an honestly shop selling local veg, fresh eggs and even toiletries, lighters and candles!

In the toilet block is a small room with board games, sports equipment, books, maps and lots of local information including details of local facilities, pubs and walks recommended by Neil.

Fires are allowed which is great, but you are wise to bring your own wood as there isn’t much available on site. Sat around an open fire, with a glass of wine looking at the great view makes for a magical evening. My son and I even slept outside one night and watched the sun come up together. If ‘Carlsberg’ ran campsites. Brilliant, thanks Neil, we will be back again very soon.

We visited this site with my sister-in-law and her husband, who had their caravan, whilst we had our tent. The site is in a lovely spot, very picturesque with a stream running through the bottom of the camping field and lots of hiding places for kids to play.

The facilities are fairly basic but thoughtful, and more than adequate, with plenty of hot water. The one shower cubicle is rustic but powerful and hot, the washing up facilities good, with a kettle and toaster and fridge provided for campers use in the facilities cabin. There are two toilets, more than adequate when we were there.

The owner was on holiday when we were there, but the site was being looked after by his brother in law, who was very friendly and helpful, providing free eggs and firewood for us to have a campfire.

This site is relaxed, pretty and a peaceful haven. It's not far from the nearby village, walking distance for sure, and also only a short drive to Monmouth which is very pretty and has lots of shops and restaurants.

We intend returning very shortly, we had a lovely stay.
