Overall we had a lovely time at this site. It consists of two fields: one a quiet field and the other family field, although neither are exactly loud. Both fields have slopes in them, one very dramatic. We went for a stream pitch which put us away from other campers but this was in May so possibly wouldn't be the same in August. We had the sounds of the country - sheep, cows and a young woodpecker family. Apparently the stream pitches can get proper insect problems in the summer.
Camp fires are actively encouraged and the wood the farmer sells is good, dry stuff. He has a selection of fire grates you can use for free making it easier to cook over a fire if you want.
They keep pigs, chickens and guinea pigs and had young lambs feeding which was nice for the kids.
Facilities are basic. The shower/wash/toilet shack is not exactly luxury and only one shower for the whole field is not enough. Water pressure and temperature in the shower is pitiful - like being wee'd on by a squirrel. I didn't mind any of this really but the wife wasn't so thrilled. The toilets are at least proper plumbed in jobs and not portaloos but ff you want modern facilities, this is not the place for you.
They run an ice-block exchange fridge but this didn't work at all since people kept their blocks in bags to stop them being exchanged. We didn't. And never saw our blocks again.
We had no noise or other problems caused by inconsiderate campers which was great.
In short, great location in Herefordshire, attractive and quiet site with 'basic' (substandard reall) facilities.

Amzaing.
Easily the quietest site we've ever visited. A real 'get away from it all'
Nigel was a lovely host, the animals made a nice distraction too!
I'd advise against taking your car to the bottom of the bank is it's been wet and you don't own a 4x4 as getting out can be interesting to say the least!
As per other reviews, the toilets/showers are VERY basic, but what dies it really matter!?
We will be visiting again.

We have just returned from our honeymoon traveling up and down Wales, staying at 6 different campsites over the week and a half and Meredith Farm Campsite trumped them all!
It is exactly what you need and want in a campsite - It is full of fantastic charm, and we found ourselves being constantly pleasantly surprised.
The facilities are split between two wooden shacks - 'The Shack' and the 'The Log Cabin' (the log cabin being the newest of the two)
The toilets and showers both do their jobs - granted they may not be to everyone's taste, but they are clean and work - and even the toilet paper was scented!
There is a section in one of the shack full of items that you are welcome to borrow, just in-case you forget something (and we all know that happens)
Now the best thing about the site is the little play farm - Pigs, goats, lambs, guinea pigs, lots and lots of toys for the children ect ect. It was truly a joy to stay there.
The pitches for the tents are in a beautiful spot with wonderful views, and the way the campsite is laid out you can almost forget that anyone else is there.
Overall it is a basic campsite, but has everything you need and want! I have rarely returned to a campsite more than once or twice but we plan to re-visit there several times in the future - providing they never change!
And we can't forget it was one of the cheapest campsites of the honeymoon!

Very basic site, nice owner!
The access to the site was awkward due to the sharp bend coming off the road. The grass could have been a little shorter and more managed.
The shower and toilet block was very basic and could do with some improvement, especially the shower. However the toilets were clean.

We have just come back from the most amazing camping weekend we have ever had. Meredith Farm is a beautiful location and the epitomy of tranquillity! The owner was incredibly helpful and friendly before arriving and his hospitality got even better after we arrived. The facilities are a little basic but that fits the location and the style of the site. They are however perfectly functional and clean. I even found myself quite liking the quirkiness of 'The Shack'. The most pleasing part of the weekend, aside from the welcome and ambience, was the farm aspect. My son spent the whole time looking at, talking to and feeding all of the animals. Again Neil was fabulous and could not have been more helpful with my sons many questions and 'supportive ways'. We are planning our return trip already!

This was our third visit to the site and it remains a firm favourite. New toilet block was nearly complete which is nice but I hope it doesn't mean the site will be become really busy or over crowded. It's our favourite because it's so rustic and you have plenty of space, are allowed a fire and you feel like there is nobody else around if you pitch in the right place. The 'shack' is not my favourite place for a shower but it does lend to the rustic charm of the place and for the price who cares. You really need a car here as nothing really within walking distance but loads of great walks and things to do within a 30 min drive.

The legend just got better!
Our first visit, this year, to our 'second home'.
The new shower and toilet facilities are amazingly good. They are in a large log cabin. There are toilets, wash rooms, showers, washing up sinks and plenty of hot water. Very clean and smart. Enough to satisfy the fussiest.
I am however pleased to say that 'The Shack' remains there as well. Refurbished and clean but as eccentrically rustic as ever. (Like Neil?)
The Shack is warm, dry, and spacious but not fancy. For us 'The Shack' is part of the legend, a bit like the ancient 205 that has apparently run around the fields for ever. (Each year with a few more missing parts)
The lambs are a delight and several are on bottles - we enjoyed helping with the daily feeding sessions. The goat kids are lovely, too.
As ever, all the help you could ask for.
Back soon.

Just come back from a visit to this site.
Had wonderful weather, and what a smashing site, with lovely views, and lovely seeing the animals.
While we were there we witnessed the guinea pig having babies.
Our daughter and grandchildren came to visit in their tent, we had a lovley camp fire one evening.
What lovely sunset at the evening as well. The owner is such a lovely person, and helpful, the only let down is the facilities for tenters, we were ok as we have our own facilities, but we managed and had a lovely time. We visited raglan castle which is well worth a visit.

We went to merediths farm, Llancloudy, herefordshire for 9 nights. It was a lovely relaxing stay. The owner was so nice and friendly. Every one was saying the same thing. Very basic site but one that you will return to time and time again. Even the children had plenty of things to do and did not bother anybody. So if you want a basic holiday with nice people, I would put this site top of your list. Thank you 10 out of 10

My first camping experience, just me and my two boys, and I couldn't have chosen a better site! A huge field for them to run around in. A very basic site (which is what I wanted) but still with lots of little extras - firebaskets, logs, fresh eggs.
The bus stops right outside the gate to take us to Monmouth.
Only stayed for a long weekend but wish we could have stayed longer.
Toilet facilities are incredibly basic though, which may not suit everyone.
