we booked it and previously informed the warden that we would be arriving late. They were extremely helpful about it and instructed on where was best to pitch our tent when we arrived, albeit in the dark. We eventually arrived in the middle of the night after a long journey and pitched our tent and the next morning woke up to some of the most spectacular scenery in the highlands of Scotland.

You must stay at this site it is one of the best in the highlands.

It is ideal for West Highland Way walkers and also tourist travelling the highlands, tyndrm has everything you would expect from a small town, with hotels, and shops, and an excellent chippy, which is award winning. The site is also local to rail links so you don't need a car. Furthermore the site itself is newly refurbished and the pitching facilities are excellent the best.

The toilet and washing facilities are excellent too, the showers are hot all the time and the hair dryers are efficient. I would say that the facilities are clean and well cared for.

For West Highland Way'ers I would say that there is a instant coffee machine, including soup and hot chocolate, a microwave and a small kitchen area inside the main facilities so that you can prepare you food in the dry.

So all in all the owners have thought of everything with this site, and there are plenty of walks at the back of site along the river.

These comments come from an experienced West Highland Way'er and also a general tourist camper. Long may this camp site thrive. The only down side to this camp site is that it closes in November and doesn't open until march, and I would like to visit the area in the winter also.

This site's owners have made a real effort to be generous in their provision of space, the shower block facilities and separate laundry (with microwave). They are still upgrading and extending it. And their Avon Skin So Soft in the Reception shop was the cheapest I found in two weeks in Scotland. The biggish stream runs along the back of the site and is accessible. Also the chip shop a few minutes walk away is an award winning chic cafe with a Masterchef finalist in the kitchen. The Green Welly Stop with petrol station, cafe and lots of shopping and also a big Tourist Information centre and shop are just up the road. Finally local and regional busess stop outside and there are two train stations (Upper and Lower Tyndrum) in walking distance so you could access lots more from this site.

Spent three nights here.We had a good sized pitch. Some seemed to be very near each other. It was very busy though due to good weather.

Toilets are warm and clean, plenty hot water and good showers. Only 3 showers and 4 toilets so it could get busy at times.

Dish washing area was very clean, with very hot water.

About 45 min-an hour in the car to Oban.

A few shops along the road and places to eat.

The pub could do with a clean up inside and out.

The wardens are very friendly and very hard working. They put in a lot of hours.

Midges are a pest late at night and early morning. We had plenty candles and 'avon skin so soft' which helped a lot. There are also midge machines about the site.

This is one of the best sites I have been to and can't wait to go back.

This is an excellent site. I was cycle touring with a tent and it was a pleasure to pitch here after a hard days cycle. The pitches are flat and well drained (oddly for this part of Scotland. It was raining)

Staff were very friendly without being overbearing. Toilet block was very clean and well maintained. You can get basics from the reception although there is a good chip shop / restaurant, shop and bar in very easy walking distance.

If all sites were like this I would be very happy

Fantastic place. First time camping and couldn't have been made more welcome. Pitched a large tent for just £16. Given the opportunity to choose our pitch- we put it next to the playpark (which is ideal for any age of child).

Had our 2 boys with us- 11 and 12 they played in the stream next to the campsite - building dams etc. Toilet block immaculate with excellent free showers. Had a good reception on an O2 phone( they also offer free wifi access). Large washing machine and tumble drier available. Small shop on site- where you'll find the friendly owners.

Quiet after 11 pm apart from a babbling brook and occasional traffic noise. Plenty of bunnies roaming on the site and fortunately hardly any midgies!

Small shops / restaurant / cafe within 5min walk and direct access to the West Highland Way. Loved it so much- booked a return trip in 2 weeks time as soon as we got home!

This is our first outing so have nothing to compare it to BUT. It is everything we wanted. It is a lovely kept site the toilets/showers are spotless (with music!) nice and warm.

Showers are free and powerful. The site should change it's name from leisure park because this put us off (until we read a review on here) it is a small site with a nice play area. All the pitches are well maintained and the owners are nice but not in your face.

It is close to the road but this did not effect our enjoyment. Join the West Highland Way or just sit in the pub close by (which welcomes dogs)

Good transport links and even the midgies weren't too bad. Oh and free wi-fi, what more could you ask for?

The name of this site made me wonder what sort of site it was and I thought it didn’t cater for tourers but it’s a camp site with a mix of tents, caravans and motorhomes etc.

The toilet/shower facilities were a welcome relief after having poor facilities elsewhere. They were warm, clean and the showers were good and free.

There were quite a lot of notices on the walls in the ladies’ facilities perhaps if they were relocated, there would be room to put up hooks to hang up coats, wash bags etc. These were badly missed during my stay.

I felt sorry for those in tents when we were there as there was a lot of rain and there wasn’t really anywhere for them to go to get shelter or to cook. There was a microwave in the very small laundry room but a kettle and toaster would have been beneficial to those caught out in bad weather.

The dishwashing area was outside and kept clean.

Well laid out site with good sized pitches and friendly and helpful owners.

Would recommend this site.

We have visited this site twice now and have loved it, this site is great, spotless shower block with free hot powerful showers, cleaned at least 4-5 times a day! no complaints there.

The Irish couple that run the site are very friendly and make you so welcome, anything you need they are very approachable.

We stayed in the camp huts which are spotless and have electricity(a double socket) a kettle, heater and a pull switch for the ceiling light, the large ones you can fit two double air beds side by side and have room at the front for all your other things.

They have vending machines in the laundry room.

The site is very spacious, not rowdy and well kept also there is a children's big playhouse thing which is fenced off.

The site itself is right on the west highland way and you can cross the wee burn from the site and you are right on the path for nice walks.

A short walk away (5min) takes you to Paddys bar, Green welly and chip shop where you can sit in. Paddys bar in our opinion is ok for a drink but that's as far as I would go,the food isnt great at all! We usually if we don't cook go to the Drovers which is a 10-15min drive away and the food is fab there, great atmosphere etc.

All in all this is a great place to visit and I would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at this site for the second time this year and enjoyed both visits. We stayed in the luxury hikers hut the 2nd time which was very comfortable with a microwave, kettle and heater as well as very comfortable mattresses.

Showers, toilets and dish washing area were all clean and well maintained and the wardens couldn't have been more helpful.

A very peaceful site with lots of good walking nearby which the dog loved. Green Welly Stop good for basics and breakfast in the morning and other snacks / meals through the day, also pub and fish and chip shop in the village. We will be back!

Just had 2 nights at the Pine Trees, beautiful weather and no midges.

Very friendly staff made us feel very welcome. Toilets and showers were immaculate.

A wee shop at reception with all the basics, (even helped us out with a cup of sugar).

The surrounding area is stunning with breathtaking views all around. Situated on the famous West Highland Way makes the local shops, pubs and chippy well used.

Perfectly situated for train trips to Oban or Fort William, the views from the train are worth the fare in itself.

I was very surprised with just how good this site was and will return soon.
