Brilliant site. Cathy and cameron very friendly and hospitable, always available to help. Lovely views. Village a few minutes walk from site. Toilets and showers very clean. Would recommend a visit
We are hoping to go back in august. Lovely walks and not too far from inveraray and oban. Site is well maintained and clean. Quiet, no rowdies. Chip shop close by and a couple of pubs and the Green Welly Stop has just about everything you need, two cafes, a garage. Found staff very friendly and helpful. There is also a small supermarket along the road well worth a visit

Stayed here for 2 nights and this was the first site we have been to that we honestly didn't want to leave. Beautiful area and site spotlessly clean,
The warden was so friendly and gave us plenty information were to go in the area.
Toilet block spotless but heard that the showers were perhaps too warm for small children to use.
We were pitched at the end of the site facing a stream with beautiful views but within 2 minute walk to both swing park and toilet block
The only problem we had during our stay was that we couldn't use out tv, but were told we could move pitch and cathy would let us borrow a cable to allow us to use it. In the end we declined as were only there 2 nights.
Never ate out in the nearby chip shop but heard good reviews but went to the famous green welly shop, which is a total rip off as designed for passing tourist (£1. 55 for baked beans) trade.
Went to fort William for the day which has a good selection of shops and restaurants for any supplies.
Will hopefully return soon as lovely site with lovely people running it.

A group of 10 of us recently booked this site for 3 nights at the end of May.
We chose it primarily for its location as most of the group were walking the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Fort William and this seemed like a good base for the middle sections of the walk(we had a 17 seat minibus for transporting walkers to and from each day’s walks).
We arrived around mid-afternoon after a very long and hot day packing up all our kit from our previous campsite and received a really warm welcome. We originally booked (and paid a very small deposit) for 12 people and 3 large pitches but ended up with 10 people due to family bereavement and needed 1 large and 2 smaller pitches. No problem whatsoever – we had previously agreed on a flat rate per person per night and that is exactly what we paid.
The site is very neatly landscaped and backed by a wooded area and a small river. It is adjacent to the main road (A82) and the railway but neither of these were busy enough to cause us any disturbance.
All the facilities of Tyndrum were just a couple of minutes’ walk away. It is only a tiny place but it does pack in an award winning fish and chip shop, a Visit Scotland centre, a petrol station, two railway stations (for Oban and Glasgow/Fort William), two good shops and a pub serving reasonable food. There were a couple of other pubs and a small supermarket 10 minutes down the road in Crianlarich - another tiny place despite virtually every road sign in Scotland pointing towards it! It is worth noting that there are virtually no other facilities for many miles in any direction.
We were allocated 3 spacious pitches adjacent to the shower block and the warden could not have been more helpful e. G there was a wooden shelter with a 6 seat picnic table for outdoor eating next to our tents – without us saying a word he turned up with another table so that our whole party could eat together.
This was just one of so many nice touches that really made us feel welcome :
• The well fitted out laundry even had a rotary clothes line with pegs supplied. Need some more pegs? Just ask.
• There were purpose built barbecue stands dotted around the site that were free to use.
• The warden provided hot bacon rolls for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch at ridiculously cheap prices – all delivered to our tents at whatever time we wanted.
• The loos and showers were immaculate and kept scrupulously clean at all times. Hair dryers were supplied free of charge.
• There was an unfortunate incident one night -a group in a nearby tent had rather too much to drink and caused quite a disturbance. First thing the following morning – before we even had chance to mention it – the offending group were told to pack up and go immediately (and the mess they left behind was cleared up in minutes).
We were so pleased with the site that we extended our stay by 2 further nights –our original plan was to move to Fort William, 45 miles away, but the driving to and from each section of the walk was very easy and it did not make sense to go to all the trouble of moving all our stuff again.
Wanting to make an early start for our 500+ mile drive home we enquired about using the small log cabins on site for our final night – the idea being to load up all the tents and equipment the evening before. No problem - for just £1 per person extra they let us have 3 cabins and I have to say they were excellent value for money. The cabins looked virtually new and had electric light and heating, an electric kettle and comfortable beds – they were also well insulated so I reckon they would even be very comfortable during the colder months. We all agreed that, had we known these cabins were so comfortable we would not have bothered with the tents at all!
To summarise a fantastically neat and tidy site with good facilities close at hand, excellent customer service and a good base for the second half of the WHW.

Visited for one night while cycle-camping around the West Highlands. Had planned to pitch our two small tents but were offered a small log cabin for a few pounds more by the very helpful warden. Fortunately we took up the offer because it unexpectedly snowed overnight! The two bed cabin (one of us slept on our Thermarest on the floor) was great - it had a heater & kettle, & was spotlessly clean.
The whole site has obviously been well built & maintained, & is kept clean. The staff were friendly & very helpful - for example they kindly offered to store our bikes overnight in a locked container.
Can only think of positive things to say about Pine Trees. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area.

First time camping with our 6 year old. Very friendly managers and other campers too. Site is absolutely immaculate with great facilities. Plenty of eating places only a 5 minute walk away. Showers and toilets were spotless as were all other facilities. Highly recommended and will be back again. Has a nice little shop with the basics - shop up the road a bit tourist expensive. Lovely little playground for the kids. Great river and walks in surrounding area. One tiny negative was that the showers were very hot - great for an adult but too hot for a child.

Me and my partner visited this site for a weekend break and really enjoyed it. The park was lovely with very clean and well maintained facilities. There are good sized pitches with electrical hook-ups. The toilet/shower blocks were very clean and also heated. The showers were very good, good temperature and very powerful. There are very good facilities such as washing area, washing machines and tumble dryers. Also there is a microwave and vending machines. There is a small on-site shop/reception with friendly staff who were only too happy to help. It is walking distance to Tyndrum which has places to eat and a pub. This is a great site set in beautiful surroundings. We would recommend this site to anybody and we will definitely be back!

Stayed for the full season with our caravan this year, after staying for a month last year.
The site ticks all the boxes for us, spotless toilets checked at least four times a day, good playpark for the kids, safe secure site, reasonable price.
Could go on forever and probably still miss out things. Early this year our new awning took quite a beating and the warden phoned us at home to let us know about the damage.
I left work and went up to the site and found that the wardens had taken down the awning and packed it safely in the office.
In thirty years caravanning I have never had service to match the wardens at at Pine trees.
They are the icing on the cake for me, and I have booked another year knowing that I will be well looked after by them in 2012.

An example of what a campsite should be like.
Friendly welcome to a professional looking reception that had lots of local information, maps etc on the surrounding area. Seemed to be a few staff on site most of the days and were always helpful and cheery.
Had a good choice of pitches and camped near the river. Patches of the ground were a bit soggy but it had been raining hard recently and we were able to find dry spots.
Toilet block was very modern with decent hot showers, kitchen and had a vending machine – great for late night snaks.
Site has free wifi which was great with good coverage.
Site is located just of the main road and is on the edge of Tyndrum village. The main attraction on the village is the Green Welly shop which has a good selection of food, outdoor kit and fuel. Village also has a pub and a very good chippy – The Real Food Café.
Site has great road links to Oban and Glen Coe so a very good base for a holiday.

I stayed here for one night (tent/motorbike)the site is spotless and well maintained. There are places to eat and drink very close to the site. Will definitely keep this site in mind for the future. Midges can be problematic from july to September but it can be useful to use nivea skin so soft, sorry guys but it keeps the midges at bay. Hot water is plentiful and there is a dish washing area at the toilet block. The site gates are locked from 11pm until 8am to cut down on noise and increase security
For bikers the roads around here are brilliant as long as you take care overtaking, speed cameras are minimal but there are unmarked cars and bikes around.

Stopped here for an overnight rest on our way north. Check in was easy and we soon had our two small tents on good pitches.
Tyndrum itself is more of a stopping off village rather than a destination, the main attraction being The Green Welly, a petrol station that's grown into a cafe and tourist shop.
The site is adjacent to the west highland way and therefore caters very well for backpackers. The Microwave oven and Coffee machine were very welcoming.
All facilities were security coded, we were given a slip of paper with the door code and the free wifi password.
All in all, a very good site, very clean and well laid out, we will use it again for overnight stops.
The only criticisms I have are the lights around the site, a bit too bright at night, and the Radio 1 playing in the toilets at all hours.
