I was slightly apprehensive about this site as anything with “leisure” in the title makes me expect rows of static caravans, seedy on-site bars, amusement arcades etc. However this is not the case, it is a quiet and immaculately well kept site with no statics and good separation between pitches (all hardstanding for caravans and campers, with hook-ups).

Beautifully clean toilets and showers (though you have to put up with Scottish piped music while you are in there which may leave you with a persistent strain of “Mull of Kintyre” in your head for the rest of your holiday.).

Site staff extremely friendly.

Main downside to the site was the midges, which were particularly bad - the worst we encountered on the trip, but that's Scotland. We treated them with more caution thereafter!

Tyndrum itself is nothing to write home about, we ate at Paddy’s Bar which was friendly enough but fairly basic, the food tasted as if it had been brought in from the nearest MacDonald’s (which, given the time it took to arrive, it may well have been) – but it was at least edible.

We have just returned from this campsite after staying for five nights. We found the wardens to be very friendly, courteous and informative.

The site was very well kept with individual pitches all with their own water supply. There are laundry facilities with vending machines and a microwave.

The toilet block is excellent with free hot showers which are kept immaculate. We have a jack russell and even he was thought of, as dog poop bags are easily located through out the site.

Local facilities are very good and very close by; chip shop, pub restaurant, shops, train stations for days out to Oban, Fort William, Mallaig. On the whole this is a very good up and coming site, and we will be returning. Just hope it doesn't become so popular we can't get on !

We (Wife, myself and dog ) stayed here for two nights in May.We were camping and had hookup, cost us about £30 for the two nights with hookup. This also included large Vango sunporch and our dog.

Good level pitches and very well kept grass with hardstanding for car next to pitch.

Being fairly new everything is still pristine.

The toilets are excellent, very clean and warm, showers were good, warm and good pressure.

Freeview hookup for caravanners think its about £1.50 per night.

All hardstanding for vans.

Some camping, caravanning and toiletry basics in reception.

The wardens are an Irish couple and cannot do enough to make you welcome, nothing is to much bother.

Chippie/Sandwich cafe only couple of hundred yards away and dogs welcome in Paddys Bar.

Good to see someone invest in this site which was closed for about 6-7 years, its a good base for day trips to Oban, Glencoe, Fort william and Inverary.

Looking forward to visiting again

2nd time we have visited the site, was up at Easter and albeit the weather wasn't great we found this site to be very well equipped.

Went along at the may weekend with 3 other caravanners and had a great time, weather was good, site was great and my 8 year old made a few friends at the kids play park.

Very well kitted out site, 'all inclusive' pitches including (if you wish) freeview connection at an additional £1.50 per night.

Very happy to recommend this site to anyone, the wardens are very approachable and will assist when required.

All in all no complaints!

Site was lovely with nice walks close-by. It's a shame in the (long) site renovation they have got rid of the swimming pool and sauna as they were great after a long day hill walking.

Children's playpark was excellent. Chipshop close-by is lovely.

Toilets and dish wash area were fantastic and always clean.

Loads of things to do within an hour or so drive and Tyndrum also has 2 train stations making day trips to Oban, Fort William or Mallaig possible.

My main gripe about the site was how expensive it was. £18 a night for 1 adult and a 3 year old in a tent! I'm more used to sites like C&CC sites where they charge per person so more used to paying about £10 a night. It's pricing like this that's making camping so expensive in the UK compared to elsewhere.

Site also has poor drainage for when it rains and it really rained when we were there.

The only thing that might stop me returning would be the price as overall the site is (and always has been) a winner

Really good site, very friendly welcome on arrival and were told just to choose our own pitch. Every pitch has its own water and a TV point (£1.50 per night).

Toilets and showers were modern and spotless. One of the things I liked most about this site was the flat rate per night charge, £19 per night, no extra for dogs, cats, kids, grannies or awnings. There was a small play area on site which seemed to be causing great hilarity among the children using it.

There isn't a lot in Tyndrum, but what there is is good. The nearby chippie has to be one of the best I've ever been to, huge portions freshly cooked mmmm

About 5 mins walk from the site is Paddy's Pub,great pint and very friendly, next door is the hotel. We ate there on the Saturday night and the food was excellent and reasonably priced.

Tyndrum is on the West Highland Way,so there is numerous good walks in the area. We'll be back

First rate in terms of the quality and range of facilities. They were spotless and just could not be faulted. Everything seems to have been considered. I thought the price per night was a wee bit steep and that to get full value you really need to stay more than one night. It is next to the A82 but we were not bothered by overnight traffic. There is no great outlook from the site but a five minute walk around the road and the hills and the glen open up. Good site for breaking a long journey north or south and plenty of eateries nearby.

first time at this site. Stayed 3 nights lovely peaceful site.Lovely walk along the river which is part of the west highland way. Toilets and showers are kept clean. Site is very well kept. Wardens are very nice it. Site is near main road but there is no noise at night. Don't let this put you off as this is a great site there is a chip shop hotel pub which served great meals. Local shop and garage. Tyndrum is a small but busy place, with lots of visitors. Places to visit Inverary casle and Jail,Loch Lomond. And beautiful Glen Coe.

We stayed here last weekend - a very clean and tidy site. Well organised showerblock with brilliant hot powerful showers. Good facilities overall, and with very helpful staff. The price is reasonable and the simple price per unit makes life a lot easier.

I am pleased that this site has reopened as it is well situated for getting to lots of Munros in the central area, but yet accessible to Oban, Fort William, and other interesting areas to visit when the weather is bad.

We will be back at the next available opportunity to enjoy the site, to visit the Good Food Cafe up the road (- good breakfasts, coffee, newspapers to read, and relaxing atmosphere), and for the mountains.

This is a great site that I would highly recommend to all. The price was very reasonable, £18.50 and no extras for extra adults, dogs, awning or electric. The play equipment was a real asset to the site, the location was beautiful and the noise from the road didn't bother us at all. The showers were immaculate and free! The wardens were lovely and overall it is a very well thought out and run site.
