Beautifully laid out out and spotlessly clean park. Large pitches all on hardstanding with plenty of grassy room between them. Reasonable rates too with none of the additional fees nonsense that seems so prevalent nowadays, i.E. 'extra' for an awning, or a dog. What extra does an awning or a dog cost a caravan park?
The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, the toilet block faultless, the location superb. We were pitched on the higher side of the gently sloping park which put us nearer to the road but we never heard any traffic noise at all.
Within an easy walk of Tyndrum and the shops, pubs and restaurants, and a fantastic central location for the West Highland Way, Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Oban etc.
The only minor downside was the midgies, but the campsite has even installed high-tec midgie traps to try and help reduce their numbers.
Top notch! I'm reluctant to post the review in case it becomes too popular and I can't get booked in future!

Just arrived back form our second visit to Pine Trees and although the weather was absolutely dreadful we did have a great weekend.
As other reviews have mentioned the wardens were very helpful and friendly and helped us get our tv hookup.
After talking to the owners it seems that they have some great plans for this already great site and we. Have promised to return before the end of the season

Good points
Large pitches, well spaced out from each other.
Helpful owner.
Toilet/shower block good although the owner says he plans to improve.
Large site, which will likely always have a space for you because this is really just a stopping off point on the way North West, so most folk will stay 1 or 2 nights. Its not the sort of place people will have a seasonal pitch. Its not really a tourist hotspot
Its very handy for the small village of Tyndrum, which caters well for the walker/biker/traveller with plenty of take aways, pub and late night shop, if not much else.
Its also very handy for hillwalking types, with plenty Munros within a short drive. You could even bag Ben Lui and its mates without driving anywhere.
Bad points.
Only midgies if you are not used to them. Although the site has installed some expensive midge combative machinery. Not sure how effective though.
I would definitely recommend this site.

We were there last month and are going back next week! Immaculate site, modern toilet and shower block (first showers I have come across that you don't have to pay) The playpark is small but still entertaining enough for our son, nice walks, part of the west highland way runs parallel to the site. Individual electric hook up and drinking water at each pitch. The green wellie stop, bar and grill, mini market and tourist info all within walking distance. Also a chip shop but we didn't like it.
The only grumble we have is that it is right next to the busy road, but a pair of ear plugs sorts that out! Lovely quiet site definitely recommend it to everyone. The wardens are also very friendly.

Very nice site. Helpful wardens and plenty of tourist info in the office. Well spaced hardstanding pitches with water tap at every one. Didn't notice the road noise and we were pitched right next to it. No TV signal unless you use their cable hook up pitches. Clean modern toilet block with good water pressure in the showers. Very handy stop-off when travelling over to west coast. Can see this becoming a very popular and busy site once word gets round, especially with walkers. There are also chalet type units, basically a wooden tent, no bed, table or chairs but a dry midge free zone if you've been hiking for days!

Great site, just newly re-opened (April 2009) so most things are in good condition. Some teething problems with hot water for example. Wardens were fantastic and responsive. The tent pitches are all different sizes with good hook-ups etc. Make sure you tell them the size and shape of your tent. Quite near road so could hear but did not detract. Kids playground is small but OK - a bit muddy when wet. Nice walks across the river. Chipper is excellent with a huge amount of choice and a nice seating area. Great base for exploring the area. We had a great (if a bit wet) weekend.

A very nice clean site all hard standing toilets and showers clean. Warden very helpful has tv hookup as you don't get a signal. Had lunch and dinner at the pub very nice not to dear. The shop past the green was well stocked. Fish and chip shop is meant to be good we didn't use it though. Plenty of walks wanted to take the train to fort william but sunday service not very good will go next time we stay here. Nice playground on site for the kids.

We had been heading to Beinglas campsite, arrived there at 5pm only to find you can't park next to the pitch (we have a Georgia L, not something that can be carried far !) so it was a slight panic to find somewhere else. We turned up at Tyndrum to a very warm welcome, lovely big pitches and a great shower block.
The tent pitches are closest to the road so there was some road noise, and the gravel paths mean late night toilet visits wake up everyone, but the kid's play park is really good and the site is beside a river and the West Highland Way so there's plenty for everyone to do. The somewhat overpriced Green Welly Stop is just along the road but you can order milk and bread rolls from the site reception.
The newly laid turf was suffering slightly with all the rain we've had, and some of the pitches are on a gentle slope, but for 2 nights it was fine.
We definitely enjoyed our stay there !

My husband and I stayed on this campsite for two nights at easter weekend. We stayed on the very first weekend of it reopening after a 7 year gap. Now has new Owners and the site has been completely revamped. New turf, electric hook-ups for tents, water taps per pitch and if you pitch near the toilet block you can get access to the tv hook-up which allows you access to various Sky channels (additional charge of £1.50 per night).
The toilet block was new and very clean and the showers were good and seemed to be adequate for the size of site.
Lovely well kept site but a bit close to the main road coming into Tyndrum and you can hear the road, however it didn't put us off.
For a tent we paid £12 per night and an extra £2.00 for the Electric hook-up.
Really enjoyed our stay and had a fantastic fish supper at the Chip shop in Tyndrum , well worth a visit the best we have ever tasted.
