Lovely site - Aberfoyle is a lovely town, we biked in. The site warden is sooo friendly - the shop sells milk etc. The site has ranger activities so we went on a night walk with bat detectors - Will and Nicky were great. The showers are independent cubicles, water nice and hot. Toilets clean so no probs there. We were up the top and on hard standing which is surrounded by hard standing which would be nicer if it was grassed. The lower area is all grass - we may have been stuck if we'd been down there - it was pretty wet! This site was quite cheap for forest holidays standards which makes a change.

Went to Cobleland with my husband and 2 kids (7 and 3) for our first ever camping trip and we couldn't have picked a better site. Site was a bit muddy but Graham found us a dry-ish spot for our tent, even digging up an old tree root for us. Had EHU which we really needed as it was cold at night, very thankful for taking our heater. Showers were great, plenty hot water and only short queues in the morning. Toilets were also good, warm, clean and never too busy. Children's play area was a bit muddy but excellent for the kids. Good walks through the forest to either Aberfoyle or up to the Rob Roy Inn for a pint. Staff onsite were very helpful and friendly, made our first camping trip very easy and thoroughly enjoyable. Would recommend this site and will definitely be back!

Chose this site for one night to try out folding camper for the first time. Staff on arrival were very helpful and we were very pleased with the facilities although the toilets were up on the hill away from the main site. Despite this they are very clean.
Having lived near this area all our lives we know it very well and would recommend a visit to Callander, about 20 minutes drive.

We have visited this site lots of times, it is handy for us because it is not far away from where we stay. The site itself is smallish and has The River Forth running down one side of it, if you stay in the campsite you get free fishing. The shop has just the basics and the site is kept tidy, the toilets are usually clean, but sometimes when its busy there can be a wait. There is a small playpark for the children, the midges can be bad at times due to the treelined riverbanks. There are lots of nice walks here and also great places for cycling, Aberfoyle is nearby and provisions and anti Midge spray can be bought here, the river has a good bit for swimming further up the path from the site which leads to the picnic area.

Despite the absolutely disgusting weather when we visited, we really liked this site. Tucked away along the banks of the Forth and at the edge of a huge area of forest, the site has a mixture of pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, with a couple of hardstanding areas. There's a kids playground that alas when we visited was pretty much unusable due to being a complete mud pit (although to be honest our boys had fun in the mud just the same!). The showers are in a separate block from the loos and are ok, though felt ever so slightly in need of a little TLC (though to be honest they were clean and had plenty of hot water). Loos were spotless.
The site is a 10 min bike ride from Aberfoyle with its various touristy things to do and see (and a fabulous kids playground on the cycle track). There's also a multitude of marked out forest walks to do. The site manager was really friendly and helpful, and overall the site had a really good feel to it, very friendly. Recommended.

This was my first ever camping experience and I am totally hooked on it now, this campsite was brilliant, we were right on the rivers edge and even the rain couldnt dampen the amazing scenery. The showers are excellent and spotlessly clean as are the toilets, I have a kidney disorder and have to use the loo a few times a night which I was worried about but they were very well lit. The lady (eileen) in the office / shop was extrememly nice and helpful. I just had the best time ever and cant wait to go back. The camp was filled with all different walks of life from families with toddlers and single people to foreigners and teenagers. We even saw a wildcat on the way to Rob Roys view, what more could you want.

Just spent a lovely weekend here over the bank holiday. Site is not that large but it is very nice. There is space for tents with EHU but you do end up in between the caravans. For tents without EHU there is plenty of space right infront of the river that runs alongside the site.
Toilets and showers are fine but as usual do seem to be at the opposite end from where most of the tents were pitched. The wardens were excellent, really helpful during our stay and did enforce the spacing out rule. The site was full on the Saturday and it did seem to have trouble keeping up with the demand for electricity at peak times with the electric switching of on a few occasions. Apart from that I really enjoyed my time there, the site is in a lovely area, with lots of walks just from the end of the site. It is also very close to the cycle network which you can use to walk into Aberfoyle (1.5 miles away)
Would return again, was very relaxing.

We chose this site for our first ever caravanning experience as we've camped here several times with friends and our kids. Lovely friendly site, quiet, good playground area, fab walk through the woods to picnic site and paddling area. Toilets are always clean with secure entry code system and separate individual shower block. Onsite shop is basic but you are close to Aberfoyle and its shops so not a problem.
Ok, there are midges, but not enough to spoil your holiday! Will be coming back as very handy for short weekend breaks for us. Well worth a visit if you're looking to get away from it all!

We stayed in this site for almost a week and had a great time. My kids loved it (aged 2 and 6). The staff were very helpful, they really couldn't do enough to help us. Even found my lost sunglasses! Toilets were kept clean, laundry and dish washing facilities were good. No midges at this time of year either. Forestry ranger took us out a walk and was very informative and played a game with the kids. The play park was good but of little interest to my 2 year old. The play stuff was too big for her. The surrounding walks were excellent and many were suitable for a buggy to be taken on. The David Marshall Centre was excellent for walks, info and play facilities. Highly recommend this site and area. The only area they could improve on was that there was no recycling at the site, but they are working on this.

Stayed for 5 days at the beginning of the summer holidays, the site is surrounded by trees with lots of birdlife and a large stream running along one side of the site. The down side of this was the large numbers of midges - even bathed head to toe in insect repellent we couldn't sit outside the tent in the evening comfortably. The laundry and shower block were both spotless and large enough for the size of the site. There was a small playground for children and the pitches were generously sized. The on-site shop had a decent range of basic essentials and staff were really helpful in giving us information about the local area. Nearby Lake of Menteith is good osprey-spotting territory, which we did while havingan excellentmeal in the Port of Menteith Hotel restaurant. There are some great walks nearby and the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park visitor centre has the most stunning views. Aberfoyle is 5 minutes away in the car, has a couple of decent pubs, co-op and a good tourist info centre.
