We stayed at this lovely site for three nights midweek, and found it very pleasant indeed.
The wardens were friendly and helpful, and worked hard to keep the facilities very clean. There was lots of hot water and I didn't have to wait for washing up or the shower.
The kids had a fantastic time playing on the little wooden play area or disappearing amongst the trees. We went on a couple of lovely walks from the site towards Aberfoyle, and following the Doon Hill fairy trail (take a ribbon to tie your wishes to the trees!)
I thought the prices were reasonable, and would really recommend this site.

Our parents towed their caravan to the site for us to stay 10 nights and they themselves stayed a further 2 nights. This confusing booking given we had different discount cards, concession rates, child supplements, partly over a bank holiday and wanted to be near other family and friends posed no problems at all to the staff who couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating.
Facilities as others have mentioned were clean and never overly busy - and a bonus that they did not have a 'closing time' for cleaning. They remained open at all times and were cleaned at least a couple of times per day (excellent with toilet training children!) Hot water was available at all times and only once did the showers seem to loose pressure when all were in use plus busy dish wash area.
The children's play area was great for our kids, we felt they were very safe cycling round and they spent hours in the 'woods' making dens and getting very dirty! The rangers activities at the weekend were also very much enjoyed. The kids did get ticks so good idea to check them over at bed time (reception were happy to lend us tweezers!)
The only negative regarding the site was it was rather noisy on Friday and Saturday nights being so busy - mainly with chatter after a few beers or excited children rather than shouting or traffic.
Will definitely be staying again as a great base for the area.

The site itself was in a great location just off the River Forth next to Aberfoyle. We had a pitch next to the river and didn't have any real problems with midges after we sprayed ourselves with repellent. A great base for exploring the Trossachs and Loch Lomond and there were some nice forest walks starting from the site.
We stayed for the weekend and found it very noisy. It is a family friendly site with a small playpark and so you would expect the usual noise from children playing during the day. However, we found the adults were more to blame for the noise as it got dark. The site 'rules' stated that there should be no noise after 10pm, however there was music playing, people talking loudly (sometimes shouting!) well past midnight and although rangers were on site they didn't seem to enforce their own rules!
The facilities were clean - plenty of toilets but sometimes a wait for the shower during peak times but this can only be expected. The office had a freezer and basic provisions which was useful and the staff were very friendly.
All in all, a nice site in a great location which was unfortunately spoiled for us by some of the other campers!

A very nice and tidy site, in a great location, just on the edge of the vast Queen Elizabeth forest and the river Forth. It is only a reasonable walk into the nearby town of Aberfoyle where there are a couple of excellent pubs servicing good food, and a Co Op for supplies.
You can either walk along an old disused railway line, now a footpath and cycle path, or part way through the forest. This is a good base for Trossachs exploration in general.
The facilities cannot be faulted. Toilet and shower blocks are fairly modern, in good condition and kept clean.
There are weekend “ranger” activities which those with kids may find interesting, and the site as some other free kids activities and playground.
The middle section of the main site is where EHU tents and vans are pitched, whilst the outer edge, close to the river accepts non EHU tents. There are also some hard standing areas in separate sections from the site away from the main field. All pitches are level.
The main reception offers a small basic shop (bread and milk) with some “services” like phone / camera charging and probably ice pack freezing offered at a “small charge” (can’t say what this is as we had EHU).
In summary an excellent site if a little pricey (although the cost can be lowered by buying a “Forest Experience” card or having C&CC membership – you have to do your own math to work out if this ends up being a cheaper option for you).

This was our first visit to the site - a last minute decision that luckily paid off.
We stayed on the Saturday night, the site was busy as expected, but the staff were still very helpful and friendly. We got a great pitch by the river and enjoyed a quick walk close by. The toilet facilities were large, very clean and never overly busy.
On a less positive note, the weather throughout the night was terrible (nothing we could do about that) and one of the other campers (and partner) was on a personal mission to drink himself into another dimension out in the pouring rain - brave man! We had a few ourselves but he definitely managed to brave the weather better and longer than most and was just a bit noisy in the wee hours. In the morning the weather continued to be dreadful and we opened up the tent to find ourselves in the middle of Lake Garda.Ok then, Lake Cobleland! In fairness I think the weather could be described as torrential and our own personal pond was down to that rather than the pitch.
Overall we had a great stay on the Saturday and would recommend a visit to this well maintained site - hopefully you will have better luck with the weather and over indulgent campers and we may see you there.

We visited this campsite and we were delighted with it. It helped that the weather was warm and dry even if it was not particularly sunny.
The staff were very helpful and arranged for us (3 tents) to be pitched together. They were aware we were 3 families with children and positioned us near the children's swing park and also near the toilets - it was an ideal position for us.
The swing park was suitable for our our children aged from 4-10 years.
The toilets were always clean - even at busy times and although there are only about 6 showers we never had any issues getting access even though the site was full on saturday night.
We had a keen cyclist and runner with us who enjoyed the various walks and cycle paths around.
The dads even went for a pint at the blackbull in gartmore to watch the football which is close enough to walk to. (but uphill on the way there!)
The only slightly negative comment I could make was that a few of us received midgie bites but it is to be expected in this part of the world at this time of the year and the warden was kind enough to prepare us for it so we had plenty repellent on. The children managed to escape without a bite between them - must have been all the running about.
All our children took their bikes and played for hours riding around the site without any concerns for their safety.
All in all a great weekend! Would recommend.

Beautiful setting for this well maintained park. Owners of two golden labs, dog walks were excellent and dog friendly, dogs have to kept on leads at all times within the park but not a problem due to the close walks where they can run free.
Short walk into Aberfoyle where eating places are value for money. Short drive to Callander another great eating place and good icecream.
Our first visit to this park was tues and it was very peaceful although it does become family orientated at weekends and can become noisy although strict lights out was adhered to.
Wardens and rangers very friendly and helpful. Highlight to week came when sitting out one night and neighbouring camper started to play a few tunes on his bagpipes to a setting sun - magical.
Will definitely return. Ps remember the midgie cream !

This is generally a very good site.
Good points:
The manager was friendly and helpful.
The pitch was good and flat.
The toilet block and showers were quite clean, and there probably weren't enough showers.
Very close to Aberfoyle, and a 20 minute drive to Callander.
Great kids' play area.
Bad points:
There are quite steep charges for visitors. £3 per car, and £2 per person. There is even a charge for dogs.
Nothing to do with the site, but there is a terrible midge problem in this part of Scotland. Be sure to take insect repellent and / or citrus candles.

We camped at coble lands for a weekend, there were 4 families of us there. It was very quiet and peaceful ( just they we like it!) All the kids had a ball playing on the wooden play area, hunts in the woods, and cycling round the park on there bikes.
Toilet facilities very clean although the shop is basic
Some one in a tent decided to play bagpipes later on in the day, it was entertaining. There's small village about 2 miles up the road(great pub in there and drove us back to the site)
A very enjoyable weekend. Lovely place.
Only one complaint midges, take plenty of repellent!

Just back from this beautiful site. We stayed for 3 days and wish it could have been longer. Site itself was well maintained. Toilets and dishwashing area also clean. As previously mentioned there are only 4 showers and did have to wait but it was worth it.
We walked into the lovely village of Aberfoyle where we spent the day. We did plan to do this by bicycle but when went to hire them were told they had not yet been serviced for the season.
Our eldest son was looking forward to participating in the many ranger activities that are on offer but all the rangers were on holiday when we were there!
All in all a fantastic campsite situated on the lovely banks of the river forth. Both wardens worked hard during our stay to maintain this high standard and we look forward to returning some day.
