Just spent 2 days on this site. Only 2 downsides, no signal on mobile if T Mobile and no signal for tv. Great site nice toilet block and separate shower block nice and clean. People at reception very friendly and helpful. It rained for a full day and night so the grass got very waterlogged, take your wellies. Good location, only 5 minutes drive from Aberfoyle.

We stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend in order to go the the newly opened Go Ape in Aberfoyle. We loved this site, it is kept very neat and tidy, and the stream running past is very picturesque. It is off a minor road so there is very little traffic noise. Facilities were fairly modern and very clean and only a couple of minutes walk from the furthest point on site. There were just enough showers for a full site and they were hot and free. It was crowded on the Saturday night with tents pitched really quite close together - there was lots of snoring to be heard! Being in a forest clearing the midges were vicious! Mosquito nets advised. It was half way between Gartmore and Aberfoyle, with a really good flat straight cycle path into Aberfoyle.

Brilliant site, really peaceful, beside the river and lovely forest walks into Aberfoyle. Great pubs there and a supermarket in case you need provisions! Kids play park really well maintained (in fact the whole site is!), shop well stocked and the people who run the site obviously care and do their best. Toilets and showers pretty basic but clean. Always a favourite :-)

Stayed for three nights on this pleasant site with wife & our girls (8 +11). Had a great time. Toilets / showering facilities all well kept, the site is situated away from the main road so most peaceful. If you take a walk through the wood at the rear of the campsite there is a lovely spot on the river where kids can paddle - spent a good few hours there! Agree with the youngsters comments about the garden centre (Guyana), a must if you visit Aberfoyle. Will be back for sure.

I am 11 yrs old and I love camping! I have been going to cobleland since 2002 for short stays and I love it. There is a cool park that has nice soft bark so you don`t brake your head when you fall. The shop(which is also the reception)sells yummy sweets from 1p and lots more goodies. A wee walk though the woods and you will find a nice medow area with a peeble beachy bit leading into the river forth. Me,my little sister and my cute wee dog have had loads of fun with friends and family. There is a bit to paddle in and a bit for swimming in. Aberfoyle is 1 and a half miles away and there is a cycle path that takes you about 20 minutes to walk from the campsite. If you are going into Aberfoyle you have to go into Guyana,a garden centre with a difference, all my family love it ! I would recommend this wee site to everyone though remember your Avon skin so soft as the midgies do bite have fun.

Excellent location set by the river Forth which was shallow and tranquil with occasional trout rising, further upstream about 600 yards there is Lamhamish pool where kids can safely splash around in the shallow waters. The on site facilities were more than adequate and there is a kids play area and a small shop with the usual necessities in stock. The other campers were all very friendly and there were no rowdie lager louts over the weekend. Site is extremely handy for the Trossachs and Loch Lomond and my three ten year olds and I had a great time. Nearest bar Rob Roy Hotel or visit Aberfoyle. Drymen and Callander are both within a ten mile radius.

What a lovely little site! We decided on the spur of the moment last Sunday morning to take our first trip of the year and headed up towards Aberfoyle. We were not disappointed. All of the Bank Holiday traffic was long gone, and the roads were completely clear. The only time we had to slow down was for a herd of sheep and lambs in the road just outside Longtown in Cumbria. Unfortunately for a lot of people, the weather had been pretty wet until that morning and several people had left. However, when we arrived, it was a warm and sunny evening and we found a good pitch right on the river bank. The site is quite small and although there were plenty of families with children, there was little noise, as they all tried to catch fish in the picturesque river. I can only assume the toilet and shower facilities have been replaced since the last reviews were submitted, as we found them more than adequate, with showers in a separate block, all individual little rooms with their own entrance. I think this is a good arrangement, as it removes the risk of 15 women queuing for a shower when there are none of the men's being used, or vice-versa. Clever! Facilities were good all-round and after a good meal, we walked the mile and a half up to Gartmore and the Black Bull pub. Roaring open fires and 21 year-old whiskies awaited and did not disappoint. There is a free mini-bus pick up from the campsite and free return home for those who might be daunted by the walk. Just ask at the camp shop. The couple who run the site were really lovely and eager to help. There is of course Aberfoyle itself with a few pubs and restaurants and the sheep-dog display, But we preferred the traditional pub. All in all, a wonderful trip, that felt much longer than the day and a half it really was. We will return!

Visited many times a quite site at the start of Trosachs of Scotland some realy beautiful sites and views. The campsite offers all facilities, and has a small shop on site, with others within walking distance at Aberfoyle. A lovely village with a wealth of amenities.

April 2003 A nice campsite set alongside a river but I agree with other comments... toilets were not up to scratch... had some very good nights in the pub that is now sadly shut... but Aberfoyle is just a short walk then taxi back. If there has been heavy rain try not to stand on the frogs!

May 2001 Campsite in nice spot, short cycle or walk from Aberfoyle along a quiet track. Quite small and in the edge of the woods. Shower and loo facilities pretty disappointing in relation to the site fees and that it is owned by the Forestry Commission. Must try harder!!
