We were able to get to this site early on the Friday, which meant we perhaps got one, if not the best pitches (at the end of the tent area by the hedge). Unfortunately, the pitches with the best views were also on quite a slope and we didn't fancy waking up at the bottom of the hill! It was £5 per adult which seemed quite expensive for the site, compared to other sites we have been to. The owners seemed very friendly and approachable and the toilet/showers (20p - showers) were all fine. Perhaps could do with more toilets and showers for the numbers they had there. They opened another field, which meant that pitches were quite spread, which was good.

A good walk into Llangollen (10/15 mins) but up hill on the way back! Also a good walk up to the horse shoe pass.

Over all a good site even though we may not go back because of the up and down hill walks (!) and limited routes for taking our dog out.

Its worth going just to hear the loud and very chatty sheep! What was that about?!

This is a lovely, quiet, family-run site in a very picturesque setting with great views of the surrounding hills.  The owners are very friendly - including the children who played nicely with all the visiting children.  The toilets and showers were very clean and well-maintained.  My sister joined us with her 6-berth caravan for one night and had no problem with the hill up to the site - even though she is new to towing.  Our daughter, aged three, loved seeing the ponies and the other farm animals, and loved the small play park.  There were only two small pieces of play equipment but it served as a nice social gathering spot for all the young children on site.  A perfect spot for anybody who wants a quiet break without any frills.

I visited here with my 5 year old, husband, two teenage nephews and guide dog puppy, it was our first time camping and our stay has ensured that it won't be our last! The site is in an idyllic setting and handy for the 'town' of LLangollen. The facilites were clean and really well maintained. The owners (working farmers) were helpful, kind, pleasant and a great selling point for the site. They had time for their visitors despite being two of the busiest people I've ever met!The other people on the site were friendly and quiet!
The prices were more than reasonable. As I said this was our first camping trip but thanks to the Wern Isaf site and experience it certainly won't be our last. We will be back!

We got a lovely pitch overlooking the whole site, which was great for keeping an eye on the kids. Toilets and shower blocks were very clean and well looked after, and always stocked with soap in the dispensers and toilet roll. The site was situated in a lovely location with beautiful views all around. The owners were very helpful indeed especially when we ran into trouble with the wind. They also supplied us with information on things to do locally. The town itself is lovely just 5 mins down a hill, with plenty to do. Very pituresque. We really enjoyed our stay here, and will definately be returning, and recommending to all our friends. Great site.

Wern Isaf website doesnt do this beautiful campsite justice. Spent two days here over a gloriously sunny weekend and really enjoyed it.

The site has two fields, one with static caravans and some pitches for tourers with electric hook-ups (£2 per night). The main field has flat pitches around the edges, admittedly some pitches are on quite a slope if you venture further inward.

The toilet facilities are not the most modern, but I have never come across any which were so well maintained. At 5am when nature called, the block (3 loos, 2 showers ladies & mens, plus separate dishwashing room - which I noticed had a 'gents' sign on the door - Quite right too!) was being thoroughly cleaned and stocked with loo roll, ready for the morning.

Owners couldnt have been more helpful when we phoned, and came to the tent to collect the £4 per adult, £2 per child fee. Which was all we paid even though we had 3 large tents for a party of 7.

The only possible downside is the site is in an elevated position above the town, up half a mile of quite steep narrow road. Which I suppose isnt ideal if you are towing a caravan, although it obivously hadnt bothered all the caravanners who had made it up, and set up camp.

Will be going back.
