Good facilities and plenty of space. It seems to be midge free - always a bonus in Wales.
The only really flat places are for hook up but it's flattish along the hedge. I got a couple of rubber door wedges from a pound shop and use them to keep the table level.
Great selection of foodie and pie shops in town.
Plenty to do round and about and the kids kept themselves amused with space to run around.

Easy to find, up Wern Road, then it is on your right (heading towards the Castle Dinas Bran on top of the hill). On arrival, just ring the bell and someone will greet you, in our case, the owners son. I informed him that this was the first time we had camped with our 3 kiddies, so he was very helpful in giving us a tour of the facilities on site and what to do where etc. All the family were very friendly, and hard working too. There is a big field sloping up to the right and then down to the right for tents, with fantastic views to the west (great for all day and evening sun), with some electric hook-up points along the hedgerow, and a hard standing area to the left. We stayed on the lower part of the field, near the entrance and the facilities. The toilets were all clean, and the showers were clean and hot (20p for about 10 mins - long enought for a lather and rinse off !). There was a very clean indoor kitchen, with 3 sinks, 2 washing machines, a fridge, a toaster, and loads of tourist information leaflets. Thi is a working farm, and you can regularly see cows, sheep and horses milling around! They also have 3 sheep dogs on site, which are mostly tied up - as they are working dogs and not pets (be aware if with kids!). Dogs are allowed on site, and there is a separate field for dogs to 'play' in, as the main tent field, the dogs need to be kept on a lead. At night, there is only an orange street lamp on the main entrance, so great for viewing any shooting stars! The castle is a steep walk up the hill, which is accessible from the site, and well worth a walk. The town centre is an easy walk down the hill, and a nice bracing walk back up! Was initially staying for 2 nights, ended up staying for 4! Would definitely return here again.

Great little site a 1/2 mile outside Llangollen. Lovely welcome from the owner. On a working farm it's peaceful with beautiful views. Toilets and showers are clean but a little scruffy. Washing area was spotless with washer and dryer. Electric hook-ups on hard standing also a field for camping, vans may need chocking in this area. Small kids play area but not a lot for kids to do. 20 mins steep walk to Dinas Bran castle / ancient hill fort.
Lots of regulars here with plenty of 'good mornings'
Ideal for couples wanting walking and quiet times.

If you're looking for luxury showers or a club house this is not for you. If you want to enjoy the cycling and scenery and walk in to Llangollen then it's great. Although a basic site it has washing up and showers with lots of hot water and the owner will help you with any directions you need. Electric is available round the edge of the site. There is a new supermarket being built just outside Llangollen and a co op and spar in the town for your needs.

I read the tent reviews for this site before I went and was almost put off. I'm so glad I wasn't. This really isn't the basic site I was expecting. If you want a Hi-de-hi sale resort, then go to one. This is a rural, quiet very peaceful well laid out site.
Also surprisingly clean considering it's on a working farm with animals.
The views are beautiful, there's plenty of room with the freedom to pitch where you want.
The village is a good walk with shops etc but doable on foot.
The showers, I have no idea why people moaned about this, they are hot! And the 20p runs a long time, which I'd forgotten to bring and the owners changed for me.
The wash up room was very clean and I was very appreciative of the sponges there as I'd forgotten mine.
It's a fantastic Base for this beautiful part of the country and I'd return without hesitation.
I've given it a top rating as while it isn't designed as a 5 star site it does have everything it states and does it well.

In my opinion, the most important point at a campsite is its toilets and showers. But these facilities are old and in terrible condition. We wanted to stay 2 days but left the first morning.
We have two dogs and the hardstand pitches are very small, therefore we chose the field with grass ground. Most of the field is extremely uneven. Approximately 6-8 pitches can be handled with blocks and wedges.
Down to the center of Llangollen it takes 10 minutes by feet. Up to Castel Dinas-Bran we needed 20 Minutes.

Warm welcome from owner Clair, who was very helpful in recommending walks & places to visit. The site, on a busy working farm, was peaceful, apart from one VERY noisy cow one night! Facilities, although not new, are kept clean, with plenty of pressure in the shower, (20p), & hot water. Our hard standing pitch was level, there is also large field where blocks would be needed. The views from the site are lovely. We walked to Dinan Bran Castle, which was worth the effort. Steep walk to/from Llangollen, the town has plenty to offer, recommend Dee Side cafe by main bridge, good food & very good value, (under £6 for sit-in fish & chips). Also had superb evening meal at the Chain Bridge Hotel, on the outskirts of town. We enjoyed one week here & hope to stay longer next time, thanks Clair & family.

A friendly welcome from the owner who took the one night booking in his office (out building). We paid £20 for a night on hard standing with hook up for two adults and a dog. Well kept basic site with great views. It's a working farm so plenty of horses, cows and sheep in the surrounding fields and the facilities are farm out building on the yard. The hard standing pitches were well kept and a good size. The pot wash room was clean and well kept but I felt the site was let down by the showers which were very small and dated but clean, you pay extra for the showers which looked so uninviting that we didn't bother to use them. Steep road down to the village but not as bad to walk up as I expected. Great for walks straight from the farm to the castle etc.

Just returned from 2 nights at Wern Isaf and couldn't have been happier with the site.
You approach up a steep hill out of town and are rewarded with fabulous views. The lady who greeted us was lovely and showed us a choice of pitches which were either hard-standing or in the main field.
The field was well maintained and spacious and, as you would expect from a field, had undulations so levelling blocks are advised.
The facilities were clean and perfectly adequate with 3 toilets and 2 showers. Showers were a good temperature and pressure.
I found the campsite very quiet and peaceful and a great base for exploring the area which is beautiful.
Hoping to return in September and have already started recommending to friends.

We stayed at the campsite as we were going to a concert at the eisteddfod, we had originally booked for 1 night but stayed an extra night :).
Location was brilliant for walking into llangollen only 1/2 mile, (it's mostly up hill to the campsite so could be a problem for some).
Customer service by Mother and young daughter was brilliant, very polite and helpful.
We had an electric hook up and also used the toilets and showers that were very clean, flowers made the place look nice and summery,
Will definitely stay again.
