We booked this site for 3 night at least 2 weeks in advance.

On arrival the toilet & shower block had not been cleaned for some time. The showers are in need of refurbishment, and you are expected to pay for them!

The site is well kept & in a lovely setting. The walk form the town is very steep, but kept us fit.

Stayed here for a long October weekend. We had not booked but were made very welcome. The site is on the side of a steep hill, but the caravan/motorhome hard standings are set in an almost level bowl-shaped area. The site has wonderful views toward surrounding hills and the 10 minute walk down to Llangollen has great views over the town.

The site was busy with youth groups over the weekend but no problems with queues to toilets, showers, or washing up room. The very clean facilities are in the farmyard area which is concreted and so no mud despite the torrential rain on the day we arrived.

Castell Dinas Brān is a medieval castle standing on the hill above the farm and has stunning views which should not be missed. There is a variety of walking for all and easy cycling along the canal.

There are several pubs and restaurants in Llangollen, and the Ponsonby Arms in particular was much to our liking with a great range of real ales and ciders, good value meals, and a very warm & friendly welcome.

The walk up the (very) steep hill at the end of an evening may be a challenge for some, but at £5 for a taxi ride home we thought very reasonable.

All-in-all a very good campsite in a great location, with everything we look for close at hand, and so no need to move the van once parked up on site.

I'll start by saying I'd definitely visit this site again - just because of its location. The views are stunning and it's convenient for Llangollen.

My biggest criticism was the slightly hostile welcome. They were reluctant to take our booking as it was a single sex group (two of us - a mate and I) and we might be noisy. When we arrived the hostility continued - although it was a busy Friday evening so I expect the owner had spent all afternoon booking in campers.

The field was almost full when we arrived so we didn't have much choice but to camp on the big hill - it was a pain at night as I kept sliding down my tent, but the views made up for it.

Coincidentally we camped near a group of lads who looked like they were doing D of E or similar. I'm not sure how they were allowed - what with the site's no single sex group policy - but they were probably the quietest on the site. Some of the families who played music loudly and were shouting and screaming til late were much noisier.

The facilities were very basic. There were just two showers for men - and I never had any luck using them. They cost 20p for six minutes but I always had to have several attempts at putting my money in before they worked.

But despite all this criticism, like I said, I would definitely return - just for the location and scenery. I walked up to the castle a few times - it was very hard work but the view from the top was pretty impressive. We didn't bother walking down into Llangollen - I'm sure it was doable but the trek back up might have killed us.

I stayed at this site as an 'emergency' measure, after the site I was originally staying on became over run with a large number of children who I guess were completing DofE. I called Wern Isaf at about 9pm and they were very accommodating, and didn't mind that I didn't arrive until about 10pm.

The site was quite full because it was the weekend of the Llangollen International Musical festival, but despite this it was extremely quiet at 10pm. I met up with the owner of the site and she showed me to a pitch and pointed out the facilities. I'd been to the site about 4 years ago, and it now had a new room for dish washing. The toilets and shower block were the same as before, and despite the number of people on the site they were always clean and there was never a queue.

In the morning I had a word with the owner and she was happy for me to leave my car on the site whilst I went for a walk, which I tend to find is quite unusual - a lot of places want you to move on or pay a fee to park for the day.

I wouldn't hesitate to use this site again next time I'm in the area.

Booked this campsite at the last minute due to some lovely weather. As luck would have it there was space available, and on arrival the site was busy but not overcrowded.

Perfect for a short stay due its good location, LLangollen within walking distance, and beautiful views. A lot of families were staying here, and all did follow the no noise rule at night.

Lots of lovely walks around the area. LLangollen has all the facilities you need for a short stay. I would recommend the food at the Dee Side Bistro - delicious, good portion size and great value for money.

The only gripe was the queues for toilets and showers in the ladies. As the site was busy, there were not really enough facilities to cope. This was fine for a one night stay, but might put people off staying much longer. That being said we would return.

This is the first time and will be definitely going Again. The site was very clean and tidy and the owner was fantastic very helpful and friendly. The children loved it and never asked for anything. The shower and toilet blocks were very clean. We had electric hookup which was brill you did pitch the tent on slight incline. Very good value recommend this site. It is a working farm so you have the lovely sounds of horses, lambs and birds (which like to sing early hours of the morning. The walk into Llangollen was lovely and the views breath taking but very steep when coming back up. Trust me you know you have had a walk. Recommend this site

We spent 7 nights there it is a working farm the grass was cute twice while we were there it is a bautiful area only half a mile for the shops however the walk back is quite steep.

The toilets and showers were always clean however you need 20p pieces for the showers if you forget these they are available for the reception.

We found that they are more than happy to listen to your views and do what they can if you have issues to make it a better experience, they turn away groups of youths that may spoil the family environment I would recommend this sight it was so peaceful.

Very well maintained site, grass kept short and lots of flowers around. Shower block was kept clean and tidy, two showers in ladies & gents, (20p for 7mins), good pressure & hot.

We had a super pitch, but tent field looked good too. Extremely helpful owner, who took time to chat to campers. Lovely views from site, can walk up to castle ruins (or drive), or into town (bit steep in places but my 4 years did it).

Children enjoyed horses in adjoining field, seeing tractors & riding around track on bikes. Will definitely be back!

Recently stayed at this site which is in a lovely position with great views, close to Offas Dyke path. We had a very friendly welcome from the owner, she even offered to help us to position caravans and with the awning.

Showers and toilets good, clean and plenty of hot water. We were in tent field as we were with a group some with tents and caravans. It was on a slope but the owner supplied us with levelling blocks which solved the problem.

It was a nice walk into town centre, but quite a steep hill. The had everything we needed, a very good butchers which had excellent quality local meat, a greengrocer with a large selection of fresh veg and fruit.

We had a day out on the steam railway which was well worth money.

Would visit this site again even though it is a little on the expensive side at £20 pn for 2 people. It is the locality of the site that reflects this price.

I stayed here during the bank holiday weekend and was the best campsite I have stayed at.

Due to the price of the pitch and the location, on a working farm, I was not expecting luxury facilities, basic toilets and showers, the number was clear from reviews/websites. These were always kept clean and the 20P was long enough for a quick shower for me.

The farmers wife who seems to run the campsite was lovely and very helpful! Always greeted you with a smile and seemed constantly busy but always offered her help!

We were on the overflow site which had to most wonderful views of the hills and Llangollen below. It was quite a wet weekend and the field did get muddy but the views certainly made up for it. The field is on a slight slope however it just requires some careful pitching.

The site is located roughly 10mins away from the lovely town of Llangollen, yes it is a fair steep walk back but was not too much of a struggle even in the rain.

The road up to the campsite is only a single track and some drivers didn't seem to slow down for walkers but surely it would be common sense as a lot were from the site. So you do have to careful especially if you have children.

I did not notice much noise from the farm just the sheep, which were lovely to see as there were a few lambs!

There is a great walk up a hill to some castle ruins which is quite a walk up hill but your are rewarded with some wonderful views and certainly gets up an appetite for dinner!

Overall I would definitely recommend this site to anyone looking for a no frills site with wonderful views and will be coming back here again!
