 Excellent site, clean facilities and very welcoming host.
Hedge rows provide protection against the weather.
Great location only 15 mins from the town, although a bit of a steep road coming back.
Views are worth it though.
Would highly recommend

Lovely site. Beautiful views. Friendly owners. Llangollen is a lovely little town.
When you come along A539 you need to take the road on the right hand side of the Bridge End Hotel so slow down if you are like us with a touring caravan! You then bend to then left then cross the bridge over the canal then turn right.
The lane leading up the site was quite narrow but there was very little traffic on the road so don't worry (says me who gets very tense!).
It was a 15 minute walk down the hill to the Bridge End Hotel. We cycled the 4 miles along the canal to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which took us amateur cyclists 35/40 minutes. Lovely views on the way as the canal is high up.
At the Aqueduct we visited the Chapel Tea Rooms over the road and had nice soup. We had a little drive up to Horseshoe Falls where there was white water rafting which we would do next time as there were adults and children partaking and looked fun.
The Falls are not spectacular (don't expect a big waterfall) but its a pleasant area to visit.

The website pictures don’t do it justice,
A great little find
Very clean nice fully serviced pitchers,
On a working farm
Very friendly family that own it,
10 minute walk into Llangollen.

Recently returned from a good 5-night stay at Wern Isaf Farm.
Following the recent wet weather, we booked a hardstanding pitch (to be safe) and on arrival Claire gave us the choice of a few pitches in the main ‘field’. We picked one that best suited our set up - campervan with side awning tent, which we pitched on the grass to one side. Having recently invested in some rock pegs, this worked fine where there was stone below some of the grass.
Note that out of the around 16 hardstanding pitches in the main area (there are some more on a terrace level above), nearly half had caravans well established for the season. All of these pitches appear to be ‘fully serviced’ with hook-up, water tap and grey water drain. There are also 5 static caravans at one end and a separate grassy field, which during our stay had a few caravans, motorhomes and tent users.
The toilet and shower facilities are modern and always kept clean. Shower cubicles are large, with a separate changing area (but no stool or bench). The only down-side is the use of 20p meters for the showers, but I always managed to finish washing long before the time ran out. If this limits the time people take, all well and good.
A few comments - gents wash basins could do with more mirrors - men do need to look at themselves from time to time! Also, some coat hooks in this area (in addition to those in the shower cubicles) would be nice. Doormats at the door might limit the amount of cut-grass on the shower floor.
The wash-up facility is similarly well equipped, with 4 sinks and loads of draining space. Local info leaflets are also in here, plus a couple of washing machines.
The farm is located up a fairly steep hill on the edge of Llangollen. Allow at least 15 minutes to walk back up from town. The campsite is located on a working farm and we got used to watching the cows parade across the field twice a day for milking, seemingly of their own accord. If you assume there will be farmyard smells and noises, then you won’t be disappointed.
Unfortunately one evening we had to complain to the management about loud music from one of the seasonal caravans. They asked the people to turn down the music, which they did. The middle-aged delinquent then spent the next 20 minutes shouting abuse across the park at us (as clearly we had complained), but soon got bored. This spoiled the atmosphere a bit, but otherwise a good campsite in a good location.
We would definitely return if in the area in the future.

Just spent two nights on this wonderfully peaceful site.
The approach road was a bit alarming as it got narrower towards the farm, but no real problems.
The hardstanding area was classed as fully serviced and we felt was a bit pricy for what it was.
The facilities block has been upgraded with brand new equipment but the rooms were very cold, coming out of the shower (and yes - it's still 20p for those).
The camping field had much better views over the valley, but unless you could pitch just inside the field, it is very sloping.

A good typical site on a farm, excellent spot fairly close to Llangollen. It took us 10 minutes to walk down to the town but slightly longer back due to the uphill road. We did need a torch when we came back late. Llangollen is a splendid place to visit with many eating places and public houses. Dee valley Bistro does excellent food at very reasonable prices. A welsh Oggi is a welsh version of the Cornish pasty and well worth sampling. Plenty of things to do like walking, kayaking, steam train or narrow boat trips. For people who like cask ales a visit to the Ponsonby Arms is a must. Facilities on site are dated and need an upgrade but the location and welcome makes it a great place.

A lovely experience all round. Friendly and helpful owners. The access road is very steep and narrow - care is required. Town is a 10/15 minute walk downhill. Halfway down is a canal basin where you can pick up a trip over the aqueduct, a trip on the horse drawn barge to the Horseshoe Falls (weekends only), and the steam train down the Dee valley. Site couldn't be better placed. £21 pn for two people and electric. The major disappointment was the facilities. They are small, cramped and scruffy. 20p per shower is archaic in this day and age. Very much in need of an upgrade / update.
That was a shame as it took the edge off what was otherwise a delightful experience. Would have been 9 out of 10 otherwise.

What a great campsite. The owners are helpful and really friendly. Some of the facilities are dated however they are clean and there is plenty of hot water. The owners are in the process of renovating the facilities. The location is wonderful and a short (1/2 mile) walk into the town.

I thought the campsite had absolutely beautiful views which was worth the drive.
I was informed over the phone that it was £3 a night electric which I was unsure why I was charged £42 for myself a tent and a dog!
Also I was very disappointed with the shower situation.
I was never told you had to pay 20p into a box so I was caught out with that one.
I don't think I will return. After the pricing is all messed up and paying £42 and my sister and baby paying £30 we were put on a hill!

Booking was slightly challenging, it was difficult to actually get hold of anyone to book with emails being ignored, and even when we did speak to the owners daughter and left a message because we wanted to book, no return call received.
Very friendly greeting on arrival by Claire, who showed us where to pitch. (she also mentioned she’s not good with email which is why we didn’t get a response) Previous reviewers commented about the big slope in the camping field, and this is correct. There are a handful of flatish pitches along the hedge, but everywhere else is on a very definite slope. The few pictures on the website indicate caravans are around a circular road near a big barn, these appeared to be the season-pitches only and not tourers who were either put in the field or in a slightly higher terraced area. For those with electric hook-ups these were around the hedges of the camping field. Also BBQ’s were permitted, as long as they were off the ground, and very large lumps of wood were provided for this purpose.
Location wise, its about a mile outside of the town of Llangollen, but up a very steep hill. There’s even a bench partway up alongside the road for you to stop for a breather. Some campers did walk it, we always took the car.
The views, when its not raining, are great – totally countryside. On top of the hill is the ruins of Castle Dinas Bran, but due to weather we didn’t chance walking up there. You cant see the town from the site, but you can hear the rush of the river water or the steam whistle of the train. It is a working farm, and the surrounding fields were of cows and sheep, so you woke to lovely country sounds. However, don’t be fooled by the website picture of the horse – there are signs on the stables telling you not to approach. If they don’t want you to pet the horses, then really they ought to take down the web picture of it.
Even though we went in the school holidays, the site wasn't anywhere near full. The sloping field had a mix of big and small tents, caravans and campervans throughout the week we were there. Other campers were friendly, and most abided by the no-noise rule at night with one selfish exception who had a TV in a tent that was still blaring out at 11. 30 at night.
The washing up room appears to have been refurbed more recently, there were 3 sinks with drainers and this is where the washing machine and tumble dryer were. These were coin operated, but there were no notices to tell you how much was needed.
What does let the site down is the toilets-cum-washrooms. Yes they were cleaned regularly and always had toilet paper available, but they so need a bit of TLC. The gents were the worst. In the shower room it looked like one of the cubicles used to house the washing machine as there were the red and blue rubber pipes hanging off the wall. There were then 2 remaining shower cubicles, but there was no screen or curtain to stop your clothes hanging on the door hooks (no chair, shelf or bench, just the hooks) from getting splashed and soaked. The doors were unpainted plywood that just looked rank. The mirror was tiny and too high – OK if you are 6 foot and want to shave, but anyone shorter struggled. Plus there was only a very tiny narrow shelf above the sinks on which to put a washbag. Pretty poor in this day and age, and lets face it, at £23 per night, the site is rather pricey so we expected better. Toilet wise was a separate room for gents, 3 cubicles but only 1 bog brush between them which did cause problems. The ladies toilets and showers were combined in one room, but the two sinks were dismal, one smaller than the other and right next to each other so rather difficult to have a proper wash while others coming in and out and a tiny shelf to put washbags on. The shower cubicles were better in that both had a shower curtain, so at least your clothes hanging on the door didn’t get splashed while you showered. (we will try to upload photos if we can work out how on this site)
Before we went we were aware of the coin operated nature of the showers, which does stop people from hogging them, but the supposed 6-7 minutes was debateable, plus the coin boxes are in the main part of the room so you had to stick your coins in, leg it in to a cubicle, then strip and hang clothes up before you could get in, so you’ve already wasted part of your time. Some people did attempt to put two coins in, but this made no difference to the time the water ran for. In the ladies, cubicle number 2 had the longer water time, about 6 mins, but 1 day I used cubicle 1 and it ran out while my hair was lathered up, and I don’t dawdle. I had no choice but to wrap myself in a towel, covering it in soap suds, and step outside to stick another coin in the meter. Whilst using cubicle 2 on subsequent days, when others used cubicle 1 it was clear that the time on that was seriously less than cubicle 2. OWNERS PLEASE NOTE – if you are going to be stingy with your metering of water, then at least have the coin boxes located in the cubicles to save embarrassment!
ALSO – OWNERS, IF YOU WANT TO SET A TIME ON THE SHOWERS YOU PROVIDE, TRY IT OUT YOURSELF –that way see for yourselves if your customers will have enough time to pay, get in the cubicle, undress, get in shower, wash body, wash hair and condition, and then rinse fully. Given that the time allocated needs to enable customers to get into cubicle and get undressed ets, it would be fairer to make them 10 minutes if you don’t want to move the meters into the cubicles.
Plus a tip to other campers, do make sure that you put your money in the correct meter, as you feel a bit foolish when you’ve paid in meter 2, but are trying to use cubicle 1 (ask my hubby – he’d put all his clothes and kit in cubicle 1, but had put the money in meter 2 then wondered why no water was coming out!)
In the area there are lots of things to see and do. We walked the canal to the Pontycysllte Aquaduct and over it, (only if you’ve a good head for heights); found another aquaduct and long tunnel near Chirk (torch useful for walking the tunnel); strolled round Chirk Castle; wandered Llangollen town and the myriad of quirky shops; took the steam train to the end of the line getting off one stop short of Llangollen to walk over the chainbridge and view the horseshoe falls; tried most of the riverside bars with the fabulous views of the gushing water, watching the canoeists in the rapids; went up the horseshoe pass; and spent a pleasant couple of hours wandering round the motoring museum which is about a mile out of town.
The location of the site is good, but we won’t use this site again until the washing and showering facilities have been updated.
