We stayed a couple of weekend nights at this site. Friday was good, but Saturday too busy for us. We would definitely return mid-week.

Good points:

- Hot showers

- Friendly owners

- Gorgeous valley view.

- 10min walking distance to all facilities in the town.

Bad points:

- Very busy with campers not evenly spread.(We were less than 2m from our neighbours)

- Children playing ball games in the middle of the pitches with the inevitable accidents. A designated ballgame area would help on this site.

- No noise control. Kids were still playing around the site after 12midnight on the Saturday night. (I accept this is down to inconsiderate campers, rather than the owners.)

- Toilets clean but ran out of toilet paper.

Just back from 4 nights, £48, for 2 adults

Good points, showers and toilets, clean and functional, washing up area, 2 sinks loads of hot water, great views, pitch slightly sloping but usable,

Not so good points, the number of campers on the Friday was bearable, but some pitched too close for comfort.

Really poor points, Saturday night, far too many campers, along the thin part of the field, whilst the middle left empty, we were surrounded by 1 man tents from a canoe club.

The site would benefit from someone showing where to pitch in busy periods, to ensure space in the middle is used up

But Sunday and Monday nights were just great, 3 tents on the whole site, someone even pitched a tepee at the top of the field.

We will go back, but only during the week. I need the peace and quiet

I have never left a poor review of a campsite before but this camping trip has been plagued by the masses of kids treating the campsite as a playground. Our tent and car has been hit numerous times whilst the parents look on and just keep drinking. Admittedly the site rules do not cover ball games but it's usually a given that a leather football isn't suitable around expensive tents.

The one rule that is clear is no noise after 10:30pm, again it's ignored as a number of adults stayed up all hours drinking. You get the impression of the site just being a couple of fields but there is a sea of tents and too close for my comfort.

There are 2 showers which are lukewarm and cost 20p. Considering we paid £20 a night for ehu is steep. You have to brush your teeth in a sink in the toilets where there's a q for the showers and there's hair in the sink and no plug.

The lady who runs the site is nice but does not keep a watch over the site and location is nice for llangollen.

Beautiful views, and on one of the most gorgeous weekends of the year the sunset was glorious. Llangollen is nice, the walking in the area superb - and the walk back up the hill from town is nothing! Castell Dinas Bran is a must for the ruins and the views. The site is on a bit of a slope, but the facilities are decent, cheap showers (20p! But it didn't last the 7 mins promised, and you have to get out of the cubicle to put more money in!) and farm animals, will definitely return.

My review will pretty much echo the previous reviewers, but with a mention for the quality of the grass, which is the best I`ve ever seen, absolutely wonderful. Soft, dense, springy, and very very green.

Please be sure to approach the owners before pitching, I took duff advice, and pitched first, and although the lady was extremely polite, I could see that she would much rather I hadn`t.

I was charged £8.00 for one night, one man in an 8 man Sunncamp Prism, but I did accidentally pitch in a hook up pitch, (probably why the owners want you to seek them out first) so I was charged accordingly. My Neighbours (2 adults, one child with caravan, and awning with Hook up) were charged £17.50.

The pitches are quite close together, so noisy neighbours might bother some people (not me, I accept that camping is not an activity you undertake if you need 10 hours sleep a night)

A lot of them have electric hook ups, and with careful selection, you can find a reasonably flat pitch, (ironically, the flattest pitches are immediately adjacent to the entrance to the field)

The washing up area, while open, and basic had loads of really hot water, and was quite a social area (people chatting and washing up etc)

Only stayed one night, and never got to use the showers, but they looked functional, (It is a working farm after all) Toilets pretty much the same.

There are no open fires allowed, which is not always a bad thing, it would be a shame to ruin such lovely grass, but maybe firepits and wood on site would be a welcome addition.

The location really couldn`t be better, both sunrise, and sunset were to die for, Llangollen itself is a lovely town, popular with the biker fraternity,(never a bad thing) with loads of very nice (but expensive) pubs. Wharf road is a good walk, with a tea shoppe next to the canal, and the newly surfaced road to the campsite is easy to navigate, I saw quite a few 2 wheel drive vehicles hitched to 6 berth vans so I can only assume that the hill is do-able.

All in all, one of the most enjoyable sites I`ve been to, will happily return time after time.

Only one small niggle, the bright flourescent lights atop the hook up points could do with going out after maybe midnight to 1am.

One happy Camper

What a gorgeous campsite! Up a steep hill but beautiful when you arrive! Shower block/toilets basic but worked perfectly, what else do you need when camping, hair straighteners??? Very friendly owner with a more than patient horse and kittens as the kids mithered them! Llangollen is beautiful too and perfect for travelling North Wales, for those Thomas the Tank Engine/Steam Train enthusiasts there is a joy to behold until next weekend!

Definitely return here, very reasonable, super friendly and idyllic. Enjoy!

Wish I had read the reviews before staying - wouldn't have got caught in the shower all lathered up when the water ran out and no more 20p pieces! Obviously one of the previous reviewers didn't stay when we were there - we stayed 3 nights - the first 2 we were kept awake until 12.30 by the neighbours - on the final night it was 4am before some kindly caravaners in the next field decided to turn in after keeping us awake talking quite loudly. Then of course all the children in our field woke up at 6am! - I am writing this still feeling rather worse for wear! After saying all this I would recommend the site - it is clean and well kept and has beautiful views. The walk down into the town is only about 10 mins - the walk back being longer due to the uphill pull. Llangollen is a lovely town with plenty to see and do.

Overnight camp to try out our tent for the first time. Working farm in the hills overlooking Llangollen town.

Site is on a slope although we managed to find a good spot on the edge of the field, and didn't really have a problem with this.

Both male and female toilets/showers clean. Staff friendly and left us to get on with things which we found great.

Our 2 girls loved the horses, although facilities for children are limited.

Would recommend to others though, we all enjoyed it.

Friendly place with a fairly large space in the camping area. Beautiful view over the valleys.

Ladies showers and toilets very clean. Showers were coin operated, 20p pieces. Other half informed me that the mens facilities were not so clean. Outside sinks for washing up next to toilet block. Drinking water via a tap next to the entrance gate in field.

Llangollen is a great place to visit. Plenty of walks, shops and pubs. It does get very busy though, even on weekdays. We just missed the Eisteddfod but this was recommended to me for the following year by a fellow camper who had attended and had a great time!

As said by others, campsite is sloping so just make sure you pick the spot carefully. Our spot was sloping slightly but didn't make too much of a difference. Campsite was quiet but be aware that it is a working farm so expect animal noises :)

I stayed at this site to do some walking around the Llangollen area. It has the benefit of being in a stunning location yet within walking distance of the shops and pubs in Llangollen.

As mentioned in most of the previous posts the field for tents is quite sloping, but by going up to the top of the field I managed to find a reasonably level section. The whole field was quite exposed, which was great for the kids flying kites, but made for some fairly windy nights. There is a small adventure playground about half way up the field, which is where the kids seemed to congregate, so I'd pitch away from this if you want peace and quiet.

The facilities are quite basic but were reasonably clean. The standard of the toilets and showers didn't bother me but it isn't the sort of site I'd recommend to somebody introducing their new girlfriend to the joys of camping for example! There were a couple of sinks for washing up around the back of the shower block, and a tap for drinking water. Inside the men's shower block there were two showers that took 20p for about 5 mins of decent hot water. Remember to shut the outside door to the block before you get in your shower or when you nip back outside the cubicle to put another 20p in you might give someone a fright! There were also three sinks and there was never a queue to use the facilities despite the site seeming reasonably busy.

It took about 10 minutes to walk down into Llangollen and the pub at the bottom of the road was very welcoming. It took slightly longer to walk back up but I don't think it's half as steep as some people are making out, especially after you've had a couple of drinks! When I arrived at the site I managed to get up the road in 3rd gear so it can't be that bad.

On the whole I really enjoyed my stay at the site and its great location means I would definitely use it again the next time I go walking in the area.
