In short, probably the best site we have ever been to. Facilities, cleanliness second to none, in fact the toilet block, showers and wash up facilities are the best I've ever seen anywhere.
Very helpful owners. Great base for touring Suffolk, there is a great pub 300 yards from the site entrance serving good food at reasonable prices. Only one thing to watch out for try and get a pitch away from the main road as this can be a little noisy at times

Our second stay at this site and once again the welcome we received from Greg and Karen was really great. They are so helpful and friendly, it is like going to visit friends.
The improvement to the site since our last visit was really great, the transformation of the facility block from a somewhat rundown building to what must now be classed as 5 star facilities is amazing. With superb shower, washing and toilet facilities, complete with underfloor heating, fantastic to say the least.
The chicken flock has grown a little with a couple of silkies and some bantams to keep Lewis 'the cockeral' company.
The site always seems to full with pitches being occupied almost as soon as they have been vacated, which must be a testament to the quality and friendliness of the site which is due to the wonderful attitude of Greg and Karen.

We have returned to caravanning after seven years and chose Polstead for our first outing. We would like to thank Karen and Greg for all their help and for their guidance onto the pitch!
We had a wonderfully peaceful weekend at Polstead. The shower facilities were brand new and excellent. The pitches were ample in size with gravel hardstanding and grass. We thoroughly recommend this site and you can be assured of a warm welcome from Karen and Greg.

The facilities at this site, which is on the small side, are superb. The shower block/toilets are new, with underfloor heating, marbled surfaces and spotless, hair dryers free and hand dryers there.
The washing up facilities are brilliant and the washing machine and tumble dryers are free.
Vases of fresh flowers are everywhere
Greg and Karen Baines, the franchisees, are obviously so proud of their site that they will do anything to be helpful.
The only downside is that the roads around the site and the hard standings are shingle, which cause jockey wheels to dig in and make moving unit a bit onerous.
We wrinklies went on the new adventure playground for children and had a good time.
There is a pub within 200 yards, which we were told was OK.
The area around the site is Constable country, and Kersey is only 2 miles away.

Just spent the weekend at this great little site and it looks like I am the first to review since the place has been refurbished.
The place is immaculate, toilets and showers are all brand new 'mock granite/marble' very posh! The site is tidy all over. Owners are really helpful and can point you in the right direction should you need any advice on the local area.
This is a really nice part of the country with some lovely villages, pubs and places to visit. Lots of nice walks with a network of country paths at hand around the site.
There is a noisy cockerel in the field next door that wakes you up early, so bring some ear plugs or a shotgun! If you have a large outfit then the site is really quite tight to negotiate but the owner stays with you to guide you in to your pitch and he knows all the twists and turns.

We had a lovely weekend at this site and were made very welcome by the owners who are a lovely friendly couple. There is such a nice atmosphere there too. We are going there for New Years Eve and are really looking forward to it.
The pitches are spacious, and the facilities were housed in attractive wooden buildings with a chalet look to them. The shower block is getting on but was spotlessly clean and, although the site was full, empty when I used it as I always avoid the 'rush hour' times!
This site is near so many beautiful places to visit and there are no shortage of pubs.
There is one 5 mins walk away with good food ( Brewers Arms) and it's worth a walk to the Cock Inn on the green at Polstead where your dogs are welcome. One of the reasons we went was to eat at the Anchor Inn at Nayland and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner although the service was slightly erratic.
Polsread is a great base for a short break or a longer holiday.

We spent nearly a week on this lovely site. It is level and there are shrubs between the pitches giving enough privacy. I was not aware of any road noise. Good shop on site, including book swap shelf, and the resident chickens are lovely, as are the site owners.
The showers and toilets are clean but very old, I believe they are hoping to upgrade them for 2010. Washing machine available for £3.
We cycled every day and were able to find quite country lanes with little traffic nearby, (although there is a killer hill back to the site in one direction.) We also hired a tandem from the site for a day for £15 which was great fun.

Just arrived back after a long weekend at this site. We originally picked it as it was reasonably close to home as we had prior commitments.
The owners, Greg and Karen were the most genuine and friendly people you will ever meet. You did not feel rushed when having a chat and they were always around the site, greeting everyone with the warmest of smiles. They were fantastic with the children too.
Since taking over this site, they have added a trim trail for the children, which was always being used. There was plenty of space for the children to stretch their legs and play.
As previously mentioned, the showers are a little tired, but they are on the itinerary to modernise soon. Traffic noise was not a problem, you could hear it from the camping field but it was not excessive and did not hamper any sleeping!
Some lovely walks surrounding the area, to the pleasure of our dog.
All in all, a lovely site, with fantastic service from Greg and Karen. Will definitely revisit.

Very nice site with good pub/restaurant within near walking distance otherwise driving is a must.
In my opinion the toilet/ showers are inadeqate for the number of visitors on busy weeks and could be a little cleaner.
The site is very well run and the staff are very helpful and when the new owners are fully settled in I'm sure they will improve things.
Will return to this site

Great site! Greg and Karen are wonderful and really helpful. Lovely children and a very cute dog called Sooty! Toilets are adequate although plans are in place to improve them before next summer, however, we always had hot water and they were always very clean. A short walk to a couple of pubs and some lovely rambles in the area. Fish and chip delivery on Saturday night was fantastic -no cooking! Polstead is a super site to base a stay to visit some great places, especially picturesque towns and villages. Can't wait to go again.
