This was our second visit to this really really good site - the wardens are one of the best wardens we have come across nothing is too much trouble, the site is well kept loo's are lovely - warm clean hot showers and have never had to wait.
In the surrounding area there is too much to do - hadleigh shortish river walk very nice and the railway walk is good too, nothing is too far, also at lavenham the walk along to long melford along the old railway is good, sudbury good walk and a nice waitrose there. isnt a bad word to say about this site, if was being really picky the chickens in the small holding next door woke us up a couple of mornings, but that was a good thing as lovely sunny mornings sitting out planning our day ahead! just a shame the holiday had to end

Just back from first visit to this site, could not fault it shower block superb (if they could control the weather would be be caravanners dream} wardens were so friendly nothing too much trouble, unfortunately weather was against us so came home day early, but certainly a must for another visit. Plenty of information on surrounding area from reception and wardens well knowledgeable on local area, close to sudbury and Ipswich, many local attractions.

What a pretty site. Franchisees certainly make a difference. Lots of bushes and trees surrounding the pitches making your little piece of heaven. Karen and Greg very helpful and have worked hard to make this a very clean and neat site.
Anyone who has read my other reviews know I have quite a thing about showers ie they are never up to scratch. This is not the case at Polstead, I would give them 10 out of 10 but for one little thing and that is the air extraction isn't quite powerful enough, so it can be very hot in there.
Other than that, they are perfect. Loads of room, tasteful decor, no standing in a puddle of water when getting dry. A pleasure to take a shower.
Also cute little chickens tour the site, very entertaining.

Can't fault this campsite for cleanliness. Just back from a two nightwear with my family. We had an electric hook up.
It's a well tended site, pitches were great. There is a great family wet room, which made showering no problem.
The playground is basic, but the kids made their own games. They enjoyed the free range chickens.
Nice surrounding area too. I would stay here again for a short break, not a long one as not much there for the kids.
The wifi is free but signal not strong enough to watch films.

This site has just about everything that most campers would want with extras like bringing fish and chips on Saturday nights to your van, rain or shine. Lovely walks, shower/toilet will take some beating and it is kept so clean, that you could eat your dinner off. The owners attitude is just spot on as far as we are concerned, nothing is too much trouble and what ever time of day they always speak and have time for a smile, oh and a wave of when you leave. This must be in the top 10 sites in the country keep it up

Very clean & tidy, well run, no hassling from unruly campers, so causing the campers to be friendly as their enjoying it more rain or no rain. Love the individual pitches per camper with hedges & shrubs. Natural settings with wildlife seen and enjoyed is what you get. So much so before we left after two weeks we booked another two for later in the year.
Beautiful typical old English villagers can be seen with only a short journey. Felixstow & Colchester by going along the back country lanes affords you more of this lovely countryside around. Sudbury a few miles away has a lot more than thought to park and visit.
All in all a time to relax easy to do. Booking is essential as it is very popular site. 16 amp +10 amp electrics could possibly do with making all 16 amp.
Could do with having separate family room & disabled room as having to share when disabled with a family is a problem of desperation waiting time. Another plastic chair inside to put clothes on would be good also as the shower chair is used by disabled people so needs another spare. Room is big enough.
Well worth a visit to all who want & need a rest.

Camper's paradise, couldn't fault it. Peaceful, clean and loads of plants. Nice wardens and interesting chickens. Hard standings separated from one another by hedging. Almost like a maze so that I rarely got from the facilities block to my tent at the first attempt.
Site a bit out in the sticks so quite a bit of driving to get anywhere, but pretty villages and Sudbury close by. In Constable country, go and see 'The Haywain' location.

We have just returned from this wonderful campsite. We stayed six nights on a grass with electric hook-up pitch. The owners of the site were friendly and polite and very helpful.
We wanted two pitches together and had emailed them in advance to see if that was possible. Obviously as it was a busy time of year due to the Jubilee celebrations they said they would try and accommodate our requirements. And true to their word they managed to pitch ourselves and my parents side by side.
We were in the smaller of the areas surrounded by trees. The other areas are the top area with hard standings and nearest the toilet block, the bottom area which had some hard standings but also grass pitches with a small children's' play area in the middle and the other area is the Paddock area. It was all neat and tidy and well looked after.
The heated toilet/shower block was excellent and a big welcome with the cold, wet and windy conditions we were having for June! They were very clean, modern and excellent. One day there was a little problem with one of the ladies showers, it was reported and they came out straight away to mend it. The disabled/family shower and toilet facility was again excellent. We used this as a family with my young daughter.
There is a small shop in the reception block. It sells all the essentials. The rubbish was located near the owners house with all the bins clearly marked for recycling, bottles, etc.
There are many things to do and see in the surrounding area. We visited a couple of National Trust properties Ickworth House, Sutton Hoo and Melford Hall. All were very interesting and were about 30-45 minute drive away. Also visited Colchester Zoo (again about a 40 minute drive). Very well laid out and plenty of play areas and seating areas for picnics inside and outside.
There is a Coop in Hadleigh but Sudbury has Asda, Waitrose and Tesco.
We also went to The Brewers Arms pub at the top of the road for dinner on a Wednesday night which was steak night. The steak was cooked perfectly and the plate was big! They do different value meals during the week at £5.95. It was good value and quality, pleasant surroundings and friendly staff. There is an outside eating area (if you get decent weather for a change!) and also a children's play area.

An extremely nice site with very helpful owners. Greg and Karen were always helpful, chatty and willing to help.
The facility building is very top class and always kept extremely clean.
Nicely laid out site with good quality pitches, divided in to 4 distinct fields with the children’s playground in one of them.
The nearby road, although a little noisy, never seemed intrusive although it would probably bother campers more.
Friday night fish and chip delivery service is a brilliant idea.
A site that I will be happy to return to again.

Excellent site very friendly wardens, super clean showers/toilets. In a lovely part of the world.
A short walk through gorgeous countryside to Dollop wood and into Polstead is a must especially in May when all the bluebells are in full bloom (ask Warden for pre-printed directions).
Price for one night for 2 people £21 so not cheap but well worth it. Fish and chips ordered on site and delivered on a Saturday night for £5. 50 each was a nice treat.
This site is highly recommended you wont be disappointed.
