Lovely clean well kept site. Good size pitches with some having hedge screening which is nice for a little privacy. The wardens are very friendly & helpful as are the assistant wardens. Site well situated for visiting some lovely places & a bus service to Sudbury & Ipswich approx 100 yds from site also pub within 100 yds which also serves food. Some traffic noise from road but did not find this a problem. Small holding behind site has cockerels, geese & a horse. Which can cause a noise problem early morning and a certain manure aroma on some days. We booked for 2 weeks and extended our stay to a month as this is such a peaceful clean well run site. This was our second visit and we will return.

We were impressed with this site. The facilities were excellent and the wardens were friendly and helpful. The site itself is quiet, set in rural Suffolk. Sudbury town is about seven miles away and the nearest supermarket (Morrisons) is in Hadleigh which is three miles away. We walked for 45 minutes on footpaths to Polstead where we had a nice meal at The Cock Inn which is also 'dog friendly'. The nearest pub to the site, a few minutes walk, is The Brewers Arms but we didn't use it so can't comment. There is free wi-fi on the site. Don't rely on your sat nav to get here, use a map when you get within a couple of miles. The site is fifty yards from a huge water tower which is a useful navigation aid.

Lovely welcoming entrance to site all looks very cosy. Not disappointed when shown to pitch by very friendly wardens. The site is split into 4 fields and they are all different layouts some completely enclosed with shrubbery and some wide open.
The bottom field is more open with small play area for children in the middle. Roadways are coarse gravel so not easy for small bikes.
Some road noise from nearby A1071 but once inside caravan not really a problem.
Toilet block modern and spotless and small shop at entrance for essentials. Newspapers can be ordered. There is a Morrisons supermarket in nearby Hadleigh. Plenty of dog walks around.
Overall a very pleasant week at a very pleasant site. Will definitely return.

Delightful sheltered site which has a cosy feel although it is bigger than it appears, being divided into a number of enclosed areas. Level pitches, plenty of room. Motorhome service point easily accessible.
Toilet block looks like a wooden shed from outside but has been superbly refitted within, with large 'wet room' style shower cubicles. Always found them to be clean and well maintained as expected on a club site.
Pub/restaurant 'The Brewers Arms' 5 mins walk/stagger from site does very reasonably priced meals, had Cod and chips and the fish was enormous! The Cock Inn is about a mile and a half walk through the woods, decent pint and apparently does a discount for campers on meals though we didn't know this at the time (found out afterwards from an article in MMM Magazine)
Regular bus service from outside Brewers Arms to Sudbury (£2. 50 return) and Ipswich. This site is located in a lovely and under visited part of East Anglia and we'd definitely like to visit again.

Right from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome – the wardens were friendly all weekend. Some C&CC sites insist on you showing your card before they will check you in, but this place was very reasonable. The wardens were extremely friendly and we were shown to our pitch. We were staying with friends and they were very happy for them to put their caravan sideways on so we could share a communal area.
The site is kept spotless with lovely lawns and a bright gravel track which makes for a great boules pitch. We were on the ‘top’ field by the road and had sun until sunset. The only downside of this part of the site is the road noise which is annoying, but we had read reviews before coming here so knew what to expect. There is a small play area for children which is like a bit of an assault course and proved very popular with our friends’ son.
The toilet block is amazing for a campsite. It’s spotlessly clean, looks brand new and tiled to a very high standard. There is also a small shop on site selling the essentials like coffee, milk, bread etc. Fish and chips can be delivered to your caravan on a Saturday evening at 6. 30pm and there is free WiFi – but don’t expect much from it as it is extremely slow like most campsite connections where lots of people are sharing a small bandwidth.
The location is in beautiful countryside with some fantastic country roads for cylcing along. The cycle ride to the Cock Inn is just 20 mins with children and this pub is well worth a visit, as is the pub that is only a 5 minute walk from the site and serves cracking food.
We really liked this site and would come again if we are in this area, although we would prefer to be away from the road.

We had booked onto the site for 3 nights with another family who were staying for two nights. We arrived and were very impressed with the appearance of the site, it looks beautiful, is well maintained with good sized, spacious, private pitches. We checked in at reception and were shown to our pitches by the friendly owner. We weren't offered a choice of pitch but did notice the person in front of us was offered a choice of several. This may have been because we were pitching together though so it didn't worry us too much. The facilities were excellent, the shower/toilet block was spotless, modern and accessible. Dishwashing facilities were more than adequate and again clean and modern. It seems the site has given a lot of thought to important details, wifi is available via a password system on the door, fish and chip deliveries to the pitches happen on saturdays (can't review as we stayed midweek) and there are lots of information posters and recommendations on the local area. The children's play area is small but of good quality and kept the children amused for ages. The reception/shop is well stocked but one criticism is that it is not open for long enough in the afternoon (4-5pm) The site was welcoming to our dogs and it is a nice area in which to walk them.
Unfortunately we cut our stay short after just one night because of the major drawback to this site. The road noise. It is a busy road and it ran right along the back of our pitches. It continued throughout the day and only quietened down marginally at night. Admittedly on the second day the bad weather played a part but if two families are confined to a tent because of rain and wish to watch a movie then we found it unacceptable to be unable to hear it because of the traffic noise. I feel sorry for the owners as there is little they can do about the road but it is only fair that people booking the site are aware of this, we will not be returning to this site which is a shame as we couldn't really fault it apart from the road noise. Sorry poor marks reflect overall stay and unfortunately leaving after one night had to be shown in the scores. It is not an expensive site in comparison to others but if you pay for 3 nights and stay for one it's not great value for money.

The owners have put a lot into making this site a nice place to stay & they deserve praise for that. The facilities are first class. There are, however, two major problems, both noise related. First the very loud traffic noise, which starts at 5am & goes on until well after dark. Second, the frequent explosions from nearby gas gun bird scarers in the fields surrounding the site. They started at 6am & finished exploding at dusk, making it impossible to sleep once they started. Despite my high scores for the site facilities, I have to give it a low overall score because of the noise problems. I feel really sorry for the owners as there is little they can do about both problems but we won't be going back to this site.

Expecting snow overnight we rang to see if we could rush up to Polstead from Kent on that evening, approx 2 hours drive. The wardens were most helpful and agreed there was space. We arrived about 8pm, yes it was dark and they even offered us a choice and then they expertly guided us on to a pitch which suited our foreign caravan(door on wrong side).
Excellent washing up area, also heated.
Lovely clean site, heated shower and toilet block.
Nice disused road for dog walking out of rear of site.
Water at end of pitch, central waste disposal, gas available on site and gravel walkways.
Will revisit this site in Summer.

Pleasant, very rural site with rather small pitches surrounded by shrubs and plantings which make it very attractive although there are no views and all the pitches on the caravan field at the front overlook the wooden faced toilet block. The toilet block itself was very clean. The owners are very helpful and welcoming and there is free WIFI in return for a donation in the plantings box. There is very easy road access although that does gives some road noise. There is an excellent pub within easy walking distance that does a very good carvery as well as a full pub menu. Within easy reach are several pretty Suffolk villages, Lavenham, Kersey, Long Melford with its Kentwell Hall and Melford Hall to visit, and it is near to Constable country. Ipswich with a good Park and Ride is 15 miles away.
