Great site with lovely owners. Beautifully laid out with gravel driveways and each pitch hedged for privacy plus plenty of grass areas for relaxing. Fantastic shower block always spotless. Reception doubles as a small shop for essentials including beautiful bread and their own eggs. Lovely pub with excellent food just 5 minutes walk. Looking forward to our next stay in this peaceful location.

This site was clean, facilities excellent, wardens helpful, friendly. We pitched on the Paddock side of the site which was superb. The pitches were a great size. Great for dog walking. The showers were clean, spacious. The washing up area was spacious. The laundry area was great. Also the shop/office had the basics if you had run out of anything which was great. I honestly cannot fault this site and would recommend to anyone

A lovely, quiet site. We had requested a pitch near the play area as we had our 3 and 5 year old sons with us, we didn't need an electric hook-up but as all the pitches round the play area had electric, they gave us one of those anyway which I thought was good of them. The play area is small, but was adequate for younger children. The wash block was excellent, spotless and always stocked with paper etc. Free showers were a bonus too, and the shower in the disabled facilities had variable temperature control which was good for the children (the ones in the main block are the push-button fixed temperature sort). Plenty to do in the surrounding area, though we mostly relaxed and read our books while the children played - something which very rarely happens at home!

Excellent site, very friendly and helpful owners and staff.
It is very compact and some may feel hemmed in but we were tucked in a corner and loved our location.
There is some road noise but nothing to wake you in the middle of the night.
The toilets, showers etc were spotlessly clean every time we used them.
I would imagine during school holidays this site will be very popular with families therefore not ideal for those of us wanting a quiet life.
Good pub in the village walkable through a very pretty wood, it gives a food discount for those staying on this site.
The other pub on the main road is nearer but food not as good, though had a good couple of pints!
Free WiFi on site though they do ask for a contribution to the flower and plant fund, well worth it.
Definitely on our great campsite list for a revisit in due course.
Hope the chaffinches nesting in the cigarette butt bin outside the Gents manage to breed successfully.

They have got it just right! A lovely site, clean, tidy, spacious enough with hedges bordering the pitches. The toilet and shower block is the best we have seen outside of Europe, very modern, clean, and with heated floors it was a pleasure to use. The site also had a motorhome service point for fresh and waste water, perfect, again up to European standards. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, and worked hard to keep the site spotless. The area is lovely with a pub just 5 mins walk away, we didn't use it but it looked ok. Bus stop near this pub goes to Sudbury £5 return, or Hadleigh, we visited both but preferred the quaintness of Hadleigh. Cycled through the lanes to The Cock Inn about 3 miles in Polstead village, nice pub good food, the village also had a community shop which sold teas and coffees, very nice.
Such a pleasure to have a site with full facilities and attention to detail to make it very user friendly.

This a very pretty site, if on the small side. Many pitches are oversize and most are surrounded by hedging and fences which all adds to the look of the site. Some of the driveways and pitch entrances are a bit tight so some care is required. The toilets and showers are kept very clean and are of good size. Sometimes the water in the showers is not strong enough to work properly when there is heavy demand.
The site is not far from Ipswich and close to the Essex border. A couple of villages and pubs are close by but I have no personal knowledge. As I go to Ipswich fairly frequently I will likely be coming again.

We stayed here for 2 nights in April - booked on-line last minute as the weather had perked up (so we thought) and also wanted to test out a new EHU to make sure it all worked.
The warden was really friendly and showed me how to use the hook up. I was glad of this as had never used one before so I asked for a little help just in case!
We pitched by the play area and found it level and spacious. I would echo previous reviews - it's a well laid out and pretty site, very clean and has wifi. The mobile tower actually acted as a handy landmark as we did get a bit lost at times coming back from trips out.
There is a fair amount of road noise that disturbed me even with ear plugs but the kids and OH didn't really notice so maybe it's just me!
Ideal base for exploring Flatford Mill area and Ipswich. It's a very pretty part of the country so despite the road noise we will be back.

Just got back from spending a lovely short break at this site. It is extremely well managed and is kept clean and tidy. The facilities are excellent, with lovely hot showers, which were spotlessly clean. There is a small play area for younger children, and it even has a dog walking area. The site even has a small shop for essential items but nearby towns provide ample shopping for larger stores and supermarkets. It is easy to find and access is excellent. The pitches are well laid out and in the first field have small hedges dividing them. Lot of hardstanding pitches so perfect for year round caravanning. It is well situated for touring the Suffolk countryside and lots of lovely places to eat out locally. Would certainly recommend this site to anybody.

What a lovely site very friendly and helpful wardens we were shown to our pitch and helped with directing our van into place all pitches of a good size and very well kept. The shower block was so clean and warm showers were lovely. It has a children's play area whitch looked good. Had fish and chips delivered to our door whitch was a nice touch. There is a pub whitch serves food up the road that is only a short walk away. I would highly recommend this site.

Just got home from my visit to this campsite. We have just recently purchased a caravan and was recommended to visit Polstead by the previous owner of the caravan. We were so pleased that we took his advise and chose this site for our first outing. From the moment we arrived we experienced nothing but helpful and kind staff, they could not do enough for us, from helping up reverse onto our pitch to checking our fridge was working to even lending me a phone charger as I left mine at home. Being new to this caravanning lark we were worried we were going to make lots of mistakes and would feel like complete idiots, nothing could have been further from the truth, the staff went out of their way to explain so much to us to make sure our little adventure was going to be trouble free. As for the site itself, being in the hotel game myself I was apprehensive before arriving that we were going to be roughing it, but wow what a beautifully well kept clean and modern site we found. The shower block was spotless and looked brand new as did all of the facilities including washing up areas, laundry room and waste disposal. All in all we were so pleased we chose to experience our first outing here, my only concern is that anywhere else we visit will have a lot to live up to. Well done all at Polstead, thank you so much for a lovely experience, we will be back.
