We liked this site. The toilets / showers were kept clean and the site is well maintained.

We went with friends and pitched near the play area so that we could keep an eye on the kids whilst chilling at the tents.

The nearby beach in Wells was just lovely.

Fakenham is within walking distance (if you don’t mind crossing the road), and it has some nice shops etc plus a Tescos for supplies. You can catch the CoastHopper bus from here to explore the area.

We’ll bring our bikes next time as we found out that the site is a stone’s throw from a the National Cycle route to the Norfolk coastline.

Lovely site & friendly owners. We’ve stayed several times as the location is an ideal base to visit the Norfolk attractions, and the beautiful coastline is just a few miles away. There is an area for the kids to play in and a club house where you can buy snacks and a drink.

Hard standing and grass areas available with hook-up. Nice flat well drained site.

The toilet & shower blocks are kept very clean.

Will recommend to friends and family!

This site is situated close to main road some noise at night and early morning.

It is a basic clean site with electric hook up but you may need a 25m or longer lead.

The toilet block is clean but has pin code to door which causes problems with child access and seeing the codes in the evening.

There is only one wash up sink on site and a queue can form.

The play area is at the top of site comprising of a goal post in a field.

Good local facilities and access to the beautiful beaches on north norfolk coast

I booked this site several months ago in person having to give all size details of tent etc but upon arrival found a non electric pitch for a pup tent but luckily some other people had just cancelled so I managed to get the right pitch eventually.

Having read the reviews for this campsite, we were really looking forward to a nice break. We were, however, somewhat disappointed! On arrival we were given a sheet of rules, which was a little disconcerting to say the least.

The shower block, while extremely clean, has a digital lock for which you are given the code on arrival. As a security measure that's fine, I guess, but when you need the loo in the night and there is no light, it was really hard to actually gain access! I was also really disappointed that there were only 2 showers for quite a large site and that there was nowhere to put your things whilst showering, so invariably our clothes ended up wet. Showering with 2 young girls became quite a chore.

Also, the play area, is really just an area of field set aside with one goalpost and nothing else. There is a rule that ballgames and cycling should all be done only within this area, which could be a real issue if you have really small children who want to play whilst you are setting up (I wouldn't let them that far out of my sight, if my children were smaller).

My final gripe is that there is only one washing up sink, which, again, for a site this size is totally inadequate. Whilst the hosts were very pleasant and the area would be great if the weather hadn't been so bad, I do feel that the site could be bit more family friendly and some of the facilities could do with improving.

This could be a very nice site and potentially very busy, but from my experience and comments from fellow campers the owner needs to develop some serious people skills.

On arrival there was no conversation, we were just handed a list of rules and shown where and how to pitch our tent. The hookup that we had requested was too far away and we needed a further extension lead.

We had requested that we have a pitch next to friends that were joining us but were told it was not possible, however both plots had adjacent plots that were empty all weekend!

The shower facilities were stretched over the bank holiday weekend where two showers in each of the male and female toilets were not adequate, there were no shelves in the block to put your things on, no bins in the toilets and no hairdryers - definitely not state of the art but they were clean.

This site is also not suitable for single fathers bringing young daughters as they are not allowed in the male shower block and there are no family showering facilities.

We, our friends and fellow campers were rubbed up the wrong way by the owner and needless to say we won't be returning

We stayed here with two adults and two children in a large 8 berth tent.

Positives. Large pitches, although the site was empty and we did spread out.

The toilets and shower facilities were fantastic, although there are only two showers in the womens, and during busy time I can imagine it gets busy.

The town is close by as well as a petrol station, and two large supermarkets.

Negatives

The road noise is enough to disturb you late at night (boy racers with booming music)

I'm not sure if the site mentioned a play area but it consists of some space in the top field, of no interest to my two girls.

The hook up was quite a distance, if the site had been busy I'm not sure how we would have managed.

We were under the impression there was a bar on site, which during the colder evenings is useful when camping, but the bar is part of the golf course and closed at 6pm.

We wont be staying here again, but if these things don't bother you, you will be fine.

This is a very nice site and quiet. It was an adults only when we have stayed previously and is now for families as well. The pitches are nice and spacious with some hardstandings and the remainder are grass. As it was quiet when we stayed and that we do not have children I can not comment on how people will find it for children, but there is certainly plenty of room for playing.

Toilet block is clean and tidy with 2 showers in both the mens and ladies, 2 private cubicles and 5 loos. We have never had to queue for the showers when we have stayed and this includes bank holidays. They are closed for an hour from 11am but there is a alternative toilet that can be used. They are hot showers at whatever time and this has been the case in the past. My only criticism this time were they were cold to luke warm at 7.30 in the morning, but this has not been the case before, so may just be a hiccup.

There is a driving range and a par 3 which are both nice. I believe you can get food and there is a bar but we have never used this. At the top end of the site there is a large open field which has a goal at the furthest end and there is plenty of room for everyone to use.

There is a tesco's in the town and morrisons up the road. There is Sherringham not far and this is lovely. Wells next to sea is 9 miles away and about a 15 min drive.

We will definitely be returning.

What a lovely site & friendly owners. We stayed over the bank holiday for 2 nights but wish it could have been longer.

The site was central for what we required & children are made welcome, there is a small play area for them. I would & have recommend this site to family & friends.

The site has a golf driving range & a small golf course & near by there are a couple of fishing lakes(if those are your intrest)

The toilet & shower blocks are very clean & all pitches have electric hook ups. There is no shop on site but a Morrison's close by.

Looking forward to our next visit.

Visited the site a number of times and have always been given a warm welcome each time by Des and Vera, hard standing and grass areas available with plenty of space between each other and all come with electric hook up.
Toilet and shower blocks are ultra clean. Very good base to visit north Norfolk from with Wells next to the sea just a 10 min drive away, the Fakenham to Kings Lynn road runs by the far side of the site but it is a good enough distance away for it not to be too much of a distraction and you soon get use to it.
Dog friendly site with a nice wooded dog walk available if you don’t fancy a walk around the local fields. We have stayed before and will stay again. A little gem of a place that more and more people are finding.

Easy to find and a warm welcome from Vera and Des. At first thought the main buildings outwardly looked dull and disappointing. Booked an electric hook up [our first]the site was large, more than ample space for Car, Trailer and Tent, tables etc. Although next to the Safety Net of the Driving Range, it was not a problem. The A149 is busy and you have the constant drone of vehicles but you soon forget it's there; like everything you get used to it! We stayed 3 nights and will return! Des informed us when we booked the Toilets,Showers etc were the cleanest in Norfolk; he was true to his word. Vera cleans everything everyday from 11 am. Conscientious with high standards and a lovely couple. Home cooking and a pleasant [licensed] dining room.

You are a quick 15min drive from Sherringham or a slow drive using the back lanes through lovely villages to the most amazing coast line. Beaches miles long . Wild life . Kingdom is filmed in Holkham and Wells Next the Sea. Fabulous . Cant wait to return again soon with other members of our family. Lots and lots for everyone to do .All ages! Fantastic Value at £11 per night!
