We stayed on this site for a week. The site was nice, although when we arrived we were put on the site at the top and we were a bit concerned it was going to noisy with the play area there, we did ask to be moved but after waiting a while we were told they couldn't move us.
The pitches were a generous size and although we were next to the play area it wasn't too noisy. The kids loved the play area and didn't see them when we were on site.
The toilets and showers were quite a trek from our pitch and we were glad we had our own toilet but felt sorry for the people in tents. The toilets and showers were dark and dingy and need updating and weren't the cleanest we have seen. The showers weren't very good, going hot and cold and if someone was in the shower next to you, you ended up with just a trickle from the shower and a nightmare if you were washing your hair.
It wasn't far from town with plenty of shops, supermarket, pubs and takeaways.
We tried the The Limes which was a Wetherspoons pub. The food was lovely and really good value. For three adult meals and a child with a drink each came to about £26. We visited a few times, saved on cooking and washing up! But would recommend it.
We wouldn't use this site again, mainly because of the toilets and showers.

Loved this quiet campsite. Very welcoming and friendly owners. Clean, easily accessible toilets, shower and other facilities. Will definitely be revisiting in the future. Only improvement I would make would be to mark out an area where dogs can be let off their leads. Our dogs don't go to the toilet easily when they are on a lead, so lots of extra walking around waiting for the event to happen! There is a dog walk area, but it's too close to main road to let dogs run free off lead. The site had plenty of land, so I'm sure an area could be marked out for this. Anyway, a super place nevertheless. Thank you.

Have just returned from one of the loveliest site we have been to, very helpful eg. Maps for local shops, pubs, buses & local places to visit, very handy, a notice black board for weather & local events. Spacious pitches, with separate adult & family area's, clean toilets with push button showers (prefer normal ones with temp control) couldn't have a cold shower & it would have been handy as it was so hot!. The owners were really helpful nothing was too much trouble, they even put up a tent for one solo camper as it needed two people to put it up. Cost was very reasonable, Would highly recommend this site for a peaceful holiday, not far from any really good beaches & other things to do.

Just returned from a weekend at this lovely little site.
The layout of the site is great, they have separated adults only and families so all can feel relaxed- my kids are quite boisterous so it was nice not to have to worry about disturbing people who just wanted peace and quiet.
We were shown to our pitch which was next to the play area - ideal for us to sit at the tent whilst the kids went and let off steam kicking a ball about. The pitch was plenty big enough for our 6 berth tent, car and space to sit.
The site wardens were really helpful and approachable. Our car battery went flat (left the fridge plugged in too long) and the warden didn't hesitate to get her car and jump leads to get us started.
Toilet and shower block were kept really clean, and bins were emptied at least a couple of times a day.
We're planning another stay at this site as the location is spot on to explore North Norfolk and we felt a couple of days just wasn't long enough!
All in all a nice place to stay - will recommend to friends and family.

This was our second visit to this fantastic site in Norfolk. Our boys loved running around and climbing 'the tower' in the play area. We were very impressed at how clean and we'll maintained everything is. Bins are regularly emptied, toilet blocks always clean, and great to see that the site recycles.
Great to have a baby change for our 1yr old too, in the accessible toilet - which was spacious enough to cope with our two wee ones who were inevitably always with me!
The owners are incredibly helpful and welcoming - and have a wealth of knowledge on the range of things to do in the local area. We didn't get much further than Wells and Holkham beaches which are great for wee ones, and not too far away. Good supermarkets close by too for all our supplies, so we literally arrived with our camping gear knowing everything else was on the doorstep.
Can't wait to come back for our next trip, and would recommend this site to anyone with a young family - we felt well looked after and it added to our holiday!

We have just returned from a week at Fakenham campsite and am very happy to report that its a lovely site.
Access: easy to find. We put the postcode into our Satnav and we were guided straight to the site. Roads are good and wide, no scarey Norfolk lanes to reach the entrance, and all pitches can be driven up to. Theres a good sized car park if you have visitors, as the site encourage only one vehicle per pitch.
Welcome: superb! Very friendly owners and we were guided to our pitch personally despite very clear pitch numbering. As we were left to set up, we were provided with lots of local information and informed we were only to ask if there was anything we needed. We know the local area quite well, but for those that don't we were given a map with supermarket etc marked on it which was great.
Pitch: clean, well kept grass pitch (I noted there were some with hard standing if required). We were on the family field, but pitches are well spaced out and at no point did we feel penned in. Hawthorn hedges separated some of the pitches which was a bit of a nightmare getting our EHU cable underneath to reach our hook up point the other side - those spines are sharp!
Facilities:
Toilets: toilet/washing up block is the other side of the site to the family field, which can be unhelpful with little ones or middle of the night trips! The keypad entry to the toilet and showers meant my youngest needed accompanying to the toilet every time, as she could neither reach the pad nor remember a code (5 years old). This was far from ideal, I appreciate that it prevents unauthorised access, but in all honesty this was a pain in the bum! Showers were hot, free - but push button controlled. Anyone with young children will struggle like hell to shower their child, and hold the button in to rinse! There was a hook on the back of the door for clothes, but not adequate for a parent to put clothes, towels etc for themselves plus a child. Also, although there was a disinfectant solution to clean showers after use, this was a squeegy style application and no mop was available to clean the floor, as the toilet block tended to be permanently damp, with showers running the steam has no escape and water runs down doors, walls and the floor. A mop, or extraction is desperately needed.
Laundry: No washing machine or drying room - although the owner did offer the use of her machine if I got desperate. The nearest laundrette is Sheringham, so pack plenty or combine a wash with a daytrip.
Refuse: bins are emptied multiple times per day and recycling is available. Litter is also picked daily - the site was spotless and clearly well kept & maintained.
Playarea: basic, but lets be honest, kids can spend hours with a cardboard box!
In conclusion, a lovely site run by lovely people. I would recommend without hesitation but would suggest if you have younger children to ensure you have toilet provision in your unit and that you're prepared for a bit of a battle in the showers. We will go back, but when my children are both a little older perhaps. The site Iis clearly trying to be a good family friendly site, but they need to think a bit deeper in the practicality of camping with kids. They pee a lot and get filthy! Bigger shower cubicles or a family room, and laundry provision would make this site perfect.

Love this place, our fourth visit in three years!
Location: Good: the site was spotlessly clean and well spaced out with good sized pitches. The adjacent golf range was also fun and excellent value. There was some road noise but not overwhelming and kind of inevitable in British campsites. And particularly important for me, it’s a great location from which to go out exploring the beautiful villages and coastline of North Norfolk.
Facilities: Good; the facilities are what you expect from a campsite, this isn’t glamping but there was everything you need, plentiful hot water and spotlessly clean.
Value: Excellent; only £16 for the night for two of us to camp.
Service: Excellent, the best thing about this site is the owners. They are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. They are very approachable and great to talk to without imposing themselves when we wanted to be on our own.
Overall: Excellent, I’m already planning a return trip for later in 2013!

Started my 2013 season at this gem of a site in Norfolk. I visit many times in the year as is always peaceful. Lovely friendly owners with their family pitching in. Clean showers and toilets, never had to queue. Close to some national trust houses which are worth a visit, even if its just for a walk round the gardens. Great beaches nearby, including Brancaster which is a great beach for the dog to run on. Looking forward to my next visit.

We have visited this site twice this year, we couldn't fault it. We very rarely visit a site twice but we were so impressed the 1st time, we went back. The showers were always hot and spotlessly clean. (didn't like the keypad entry as sometimes I forgot my glasses and could not see the digits on the pad)
They have a very good dog walk area that is a woodland walk and isn't far from the vans, our dog loved it. The pitches were large and plenty of space between vans, It is close to the main A148 but noise was not an issue.
The owners were very helpful and friendly and could not do enough to make our stay a pleasure. Astounding knowledge of the area. We had a fairly serious crisis whilst we were there the 2nd time and I don't know how I would have managed had it not been for the support from Jac, Pen and the family.
This site is well worth a visit I'm sure you will love it. So much to do and see in the local area and ideal for local shopping and pubs for food.

We have just returned from a lovely week spent at this camp site. The staff are friendly and helpful and could not do enough to help you settle in. Our pitch was large with hard standing; the toilet block and washing up area's were spotlessly clean with lashings of hot water. The site itself is ideally placed to visit the North Norfolk coast yet close enough to Fakenham to benefit from the a choice of major supermarkets and very good fish and Chip shop (opposite Tesco's) which we tried on our first night and then returned on our last as the food was so good. A lovely week in all and we will certainly return!
