Although this was a last minute booking by us (day before!) we managed to secure 4 nights accommodation for 2 adults, one child and our dog. Having been warmly greeted by the owners we were shown to our 'extensive' pitch overlooking the golf driving range and were instantly surprised and very impressed by the site and its location - one of the best value sites we have visited. Our initial concern by lack of any shop on site for essentials was immediately discarded as we found that just down the road (2 mins away) was a garage with all items available or alternatively 5 mins away by car within Fakenham was Tescos and Morrisons. Places to visit were plentiful and were within easy proximity to the site. The toilets/showers although limited were found to be more than adequate. The dog walking area was safe and enjoyable for all. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to make a return visit - hopefully sometime soon!

Under new management and much improved!
Location: Good: the site was spotlessly clean and well spaced out (recently reduced the number of pitches). The adjacent golf range was also fun and excellent value. There was some road noise but not overwhelming and kind of inevitable in British campsites.
Facilities: Good; the facilities are what you expect from a campsite, this isn’t glamping but there was everything you need, plentiful hot water and spotlessly clean.
Value: Excellent; only £15 for the night for two of us to camp.
Service: Excellent, the best thing about this site is the owners. They are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. They are very approachable and great to talk to without imposing themselves when we wanted to be on our own. When our car broke down and they had to leave early they even offered to refund a nights fee.
Overall: Excellent, I’m already planning a return trip for 2012.

Great site. The pitches were grassy, flat with plenty of room. Showers and toilets were always clean, the water was hot and washing up area was clean with plenty of room. The owners Penny and Jackie were lovely, really friendly and helpful and always made sure everyone was ok. The site is close to various beaches and great for exploring North Norfolk. We didn't use the golfing facilities on this occasion so cannot comment on this. Kids loved the park and was a safe area to play with lots of area for ball games. Will definitely return.

Will be an excellent campsite - new owners are planning on doing lots more! Driving range is brilliant and inexpensive. There is also help at hand if you do not know what you are doing. Pitches great and plenty of space. Very well maintained. Washing up area needs developing, but I am sure this is on the list of things to be done. Fakenham a little boring, but lots to do in other surrounding area. Will definitely return to this site.

Just back today from a weekend away at Fakenham Campsite and felt we needed to say what a great little site it is. From start to finish the owners were very helpful and friendly even loaning us their hook up for the weekend as we had forgotten ours! (fairly new to this camping game). The toilets and showers were very clean and modern and I liked the fact they had a password access (even our 7 year old could remember the code so that was great).
Our 7 year old made some little friends in the play area and played football in the field at the end. The pitch itself was nice and flat and the biggest we have stayed in yet. It was very windy but this can't be helped you may benefit from taking a windbreak unlike us!. They have further planting under way to give a little more protection and landscaping.
We didn't use the pitch and putt but it looked good. We used both the nearby Tesco and Morrisions and they had everything we needed. Spent a day at the nearby Dinosaur Adventure Park which was a 25 minute or so drive away. The kids thought this was fantastic. We also visited Wells next Sea which was lovely (but very busy)
We would recommend this site to anyone.

Stayed for 3 nights on this super site. The owners are very helpful and friendly. Nothing seemed too much trouble.
When we arrived we were shown the site and told to pick whichever pitch we wanted! This was great as it was very windy at the time and we were able to get the van pitched and the awning up without too much difficulty - one of the owners even offered to help!
The facilities are good with a code needed to access them - plenty of hot water which is always a bonus.
If we are in the area again we would certainly book to stay here.

Can do no better than to totally endorse previous reviews. The owners are doing an excellent job to improve the facilities and given time, I'm sure it will be one of the most successful sites in the area. The site is ideally located for touring, with the coast about 25 minutes drive. There is no public transport stop nearby but Fakenham has connections to all places including Norwich. Our November stay was to see the Thursford Christmas Spectacular - a really excellent nights entertainment and thoroughly recommended.

This is a lovely site just on the outskirts of Fakenham. As others have said, the new owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They phoned the local pubs to see if they were dog-friendly. It looks as though they have recently refurbished the small toilet block which was heated and always spotless. Unfortunately there isn't a decent washing-up area. There is a children's playground which we didn't have use for and the pitch and putt/driving range. If we didn't have a dog we would have tried the pitch and putt. The dog exercise area is a long wooded area alongside the quite busy road so we couldn't let the dog off the lead. There is some road noise but as it was the end of October when we were there, we were inside the caravan from 5 o'clock when we got back from our days out, so it didn't bother us. Very handy for Holt with its upmarket shops and a wonderful deli & coffee shop.

Lovely peaceful and relaxing site. Split areas for families/adults only which is good.
Hard hardstanding pitch with EHU, water and waste water not too far to go to. Hedging round most of site.
Toilets/showers clean and despite being full, did not have to wait.
Dog walk through wooded area at edge of site - not lit so torches needed in the dark!
Ideal base for touring around the area.
Will go back to this site, as the new owners are really helpful and are full of enthusiasm for what they have taken on.

What a lovely site with really helpful owners.
Even though we went for an August weekend and the site was fairly full, it was quiet and the pitches were well spaced and nice and flat to pitch the tent.
The facilities were lovely and clean and the showers were great.
This was one of our stops along Route 1 of the National Cycle Trail, and the weather was really poor but the club house provided a warm welcome and we waited there whilst our Chinese takeaway was delivered!
We'd recommend this site to anyone who is looking for a well maintained site with good facilities and a central location.
