Bit late posting this review, if you have read the others you will know that this site has absolutely beautiful views out towards the English Channel. There is a short walk to a stone filled beach - (walk a bit further towards Folkestone and you will find a lovely sandy 'cove' - Can't comment on the swimming - it was still a bit nippy at the time :-)

The camp shop is stocked with the usual essentials and are reasonably priced. We were pitched quite near to the shower blocks/toilets which some children decided would make a great 'youth club' on one particular evening but it was full marks to the wardens who dealt with the situation with the minimum of fuss ;-)

The Wardens were very friendly and helpful they made themselves 'busy' amongst all of the campers making sure that everyone was enjoying their stay.

Toilets cleaned regularly (mop & bucket available all day too)

To comment on some other posters observations:

We never saw or heard of anyone seeing any rats during our stay

Yes, other people were 'wild camping' on the beach - no worries though - apparently this is a usual thing during school holiday time - can't knock them I'm afraid - would have probably done the same thing given the chance when I was younger :-)

One last thing - don't rely on the Sat Nav - use campsites instructions online at the C&CC

Stayed here for four days, this is a nice site right on the beach, the staff are friendly and helpful, and I have never seen such a well stocked site shop. They had everything, there is a fish a chip van that comes to site on Saturday evenings . Nice chips. The site can be a bit windy but I suppose this is the price you pay for being on the beach. The toilets/showers are old but are clean and serve the purpose they are there for. Be warned the water in the washing up part is VERY hot.

The site is well located , Sovereign harbour is less than 10 mins down the road with a 24hr ASDA, cinema restaurants etc, and Pevensey Castle is just as close and well worth a visit.

Nice site stayed for 4 nights helpful staff. Nice clean toilets and showers but I agree with the other review the water pressure on the showers is a bit low. The onsite shop has a selection of essentials. Not much in the way of shops in peversly the off licence has a limted choice of wines. But ASDA is only 10 min away and I believe is 24 hr.

My only complaint about the site and its not their fault is the wind, when it gets up it gets going.

Would visit there again

This was our very first camping experience!

We found the site great with really good facilities.

We were directed to a pitch near the facilities at the end of the site and given clear instructions on what direction to pitch to maintain the 6m rule. The ground was fairly flat but moles had made it lumpy in places! Site is very close to the railway line so can hear the trains going through.

There were plenty of toilets which were always immaculate. Plenty of basins and 3 showers (there was another block at the other end of the field.) The showers were hot but water pressure was a little low. There was a washing up area consisting of 3 large sinks which were very clean each time I used them. Opposite was a laundry with 2 washing machine and 2 dryers. £2 for a wash load and 50p for 20 mins drying. There was a large recreation room with a sofa large table and a table tennis table. Didn't see it used as weather was so good!

Very small children's play area but my children were pefectly happy as were all the children they played with!

Private beach opposite site which was popular for fishing.

The site had a small shop which opened at 7.30am each morning selling most basics. A fish and chip van visited on Saturday evening.

There are a few shops in Pevensey but Eastbourne is only 10min drive with all the shops you could need!

Really enjoyed our first camping trip and would definitely go again!

 Stayed here for 2 nights.

A well maintained site with newly resurfaced access road. Clean toilet and shower facilities. Friendly helpful site staff. Small shop selling basics. Dog walk at rear of site rather boggy and wet.
We walked to the Star pub along a stretch of busy narrow road east of Normans Bay station but were unable to take our dog into the pub so had to sit outside on a cold blustery day.
Walking along the pebble beach to Pevensey was tough going about mile and a half but we had a nice meal in the Bay Hotel and dog friendly to.

We enjoyed the site but found the surrounding area not that suitable for dog walking unless you want to walk miles on pebbles, not kind on you or your dogs legs and feet, not much in the way of countryside walking but hey this site is all about its location virtually on the beach, great for kids. Being right on the beach inevitably means wind so be prepared.

We ordered a chinese takeaway delivered to site from the menu in the info area, Happy Dragon I think, great value, great meal recommended. All in all a pretty good site.

This was our first camping trip in a borrowed tent, therefore our first camping site, the owners made it a very pleasant experience and made sure that we were close to the shower block, the showers were nice and clean and the water was warm though not hot, but certainly sufficient, there were times when we had to wait for a shower but not that long. Toilets were clean,

As it is Eastbourne and the site is only a few yards from the Seafront it was quite windy, something to remember about Eastbourne it is known as windy city. On the last night it poured with rain and can say that the whole area was well drained, we certainly did not end up covered in mud whilst we were taking down the tent.

It is a bit off the beaten track and the road is a bit bumpy heading towards the site.

The site is not that far from Pevensey Bay which is full of restaurants and take aways, perfect if you don't feel like cooking and there is an Asda about 5 miles down the road towards Eastbourne next to the Marina, which again has lots of excellent restaurants. There is also a launderette in Pevensey Bay if needed.

We will definitely be going back to stay at this campsite.

What a brilliant campsite! Only 50 yards from the beach. Great dishwashing facilities and good toilets. What is also nice is being able to hear the sea when inside the tent. Nice shop with every thing you could possibly want to go camping.
The Sun Pub is not too far away, as the pub once served as a campsite but now is only for caravans. What a shame.

Excellent campsite and would recommend. Staff friendly and helpful consider we booked at very last minute. Great pitches allocated (went with friends who had never camped before). Children's playing park a bit small but liked it as you very unlikely to loss them!

Pitches were reasonably flat and located near to the facilities without it being too near.

The facilities we were located next too could do with a bit of modernisation however the other facilities on site were excellent on a 'walk-about' of the site. The campsite was just the right size to give it that family feel.

Would definitely return!

We purchased a campervan and wanted to give it a quick test run. We decided not to go too far from home and so travelled along the coast from our home in Eastbourne to Normans Bay.

We weren't able to book a 1 night stay in advance and so arrived at just after lunchtime.

We were greeted at reception by friendly staff and were directed to a space on the site not far from the entrance.

The toilet and shower block was cleaned between 2.30 and 3.30 everyday and was not an unpleasant place to use. The kitchen area for washing up was adequate and kept clean. Have to admit not sure if I would want to have stayed on a very busy week (Sardines in a tin spring to mind).
Not a lot of shelter if windy but you would expect that from a site just across the road from the beach. Small shop selling many day to day bits and bobs not much in the way of shops in non driving distance from the site but this does have its advantages if you want to get away from it all. If you wanted to go further afield walk to the near by station and arrive in Eastbourne in less than 10 minutes.

Certainly would visit again for a quick getaway and would recommend it to family and friends.

Well laid out site with clean modern facilities although there could have been more showers. Close to the beach (so a bit windy) but plenty to do in the surrounding area including the castle at pevensey. A wide selection of pubs and places to eat if you can't light the bbq!
