We just spent six nights at Normans bay and had a really lovely time.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly and took great pride in the site.
The toilets and showers were spotless with plenty of hot water, but you did have to run around to get wet in the two showers in the block we were nearest to!
The shop is small but well stocked and Asda is only a couple of miles away as is a cinema for those rainy days.
We pitched next to the play park ( the smallest i've ever seen!) which my two boys loved as there was always someone to play with.
The beach is excellent, in the morning and evening at low tide its quite sandy and then at high tide it's covered in pebbles which kept the kids entertained throwing them in the sea, its also great for kite flying and lots of people were fishing.
If that's not to your liking Eastbourne and Hastings are not too far away.
We also spend a day at nearby Drusilla's park which we all enjoyed.
The road around the site is pot holed but you can clearly see the efforts to repair it and if you stick to the 5mph speed limit you won't even notice.
It can be very windy so pack the storm pegs before you go!
My only complaints are that it did feel a little cramped with pitches too close together and that there aren't enough showers, although if you avoid peak times you should be ok.
A site we will definitely be using again, highly recommended.

This was our first outing with our newly purchased van. As first time tourers we were absolutely stunned at the quality of the site as we were expecting to 'rough it' a bit. This is a different world to the static caravan holidays we have had over the years and although we only spent two nights we loved the relaxed atmosphere and helpful staff. The facilities were clean and well maintained and the adjoining beach was a delight for us all. A treat was the visiting Fish and Chip van on Saturday night. Delicious! The kids did not want to leave and begged me to have a day off work on Monday so they could stay another night! If this is the standard of sites we can look forward to, I regret not having done this years ago. Can't wait to go back. ASAP.

Location is perfect but the road around the site will seriously damage your vehicle, to avoid this drive on the grass. The pitches are close together and if you are unlucky to get a 'middle field' pitch it is like a maze to escape on a busy weekend. The toilets and showers are clean and plenty of hot water, the laundry is great, the shop is sufficient and the staff are helpful and pleasant. Grass cutting and hedge trimming is constant so escape to the adjacent beach for peace and quiet.
Everything you need is in nearby Pevensey and the Saturday evening visiting chippie is a wothwhile treat, a meal at the Lamb Inn on the A259 towards Bexhill is also good value. There is a great farm shop nearby at Chilly Farm and the kids will enjoy seeing the animals there. The area abounds with history and places of interest so visit the information centre in Pevensey for info on your interests.
All in all a great holiday, shame about the road upkeep though, I think this lets the site and the CCClub down badly. Enjoy.

This was our first time out with our new trailer tent and we were recommended this site from friends and I have to say we were impressed. Everyone was really friendly, the site was clean and well managed.
The only thing I found strange for such a busy site is to only have 2 showers in the block we were near, and 3 at the other end of the site. The showers although hot were low pressure. The facilities though were spotless. Beach was good and kids had a good time, but as per someone elses comments it is a shame there is no where to play ball games. Shop was well stocked and reception bent over backwards to help.
I would like to thank some really friendly campers in Arthur and Mark who helped me set up and offered some really useful advice.
Recommend this site and will be going back.

Those who have mentioned that this is a windy site weren't kidding! Remember to take storm pegs and straps! On the whole a great site, the children loved that it has it's own beach and made full use of it. The facilities were very clean, and there was a mop and bucket in each block. Not sure how it would be at the height of the season with so few showers though! On the subject of showers, whilst the water was always hot it did take a while to get showered under the low water pressure. With the exception of one individual the staff were friendly and helpful. The whole site was friendly too. Special thanks to the couple who tried to help with the gas bottle problem.
It did rain quite a lot while we were there and there are areas of the site that a prone to water-logging so beware.
Shop is good for the basics, and supermarkets aren't too far away. Both the Chinese and the Indian restaurants in Pevensey will deliver to the site, just remember to pick up your own menus as the site only has one to lend out.
It is a shame the children couldn't fly kites or play ball on the site, but rules are rules!
The road wasn't too bad when we were there, maybe the weather put off the boy racers?! The trains stop at a station close to the site so no need to take the car into any of the local towns if you didn't want to. Regular trains, timetable available in the shop - to borrow.
The children loved the site and even though we know what to expect weather wise, we would go again.

Broadhembury Holiday Park - Ashford
Just 15 minutes from Ashford and 25 minutes from fabulous beaches, you'll be ideally placed for exploring the Garden of England. The park is divided into a family area, that is close to the play parks, the sports field and the games room, and a peaceful adult-only area in The Meadows, that is ideal for couples. A range of grass and hardstanding pitches, fully serviced or non electric, catering for all sized of tents and caravans.
On both areas you will enjoy five-star, centrally-heated showers, and private cubicles with toilet, hand basin, dryers etc. Laundry and campers kitchens, a large childrens playground, sports field, games room and television lounge. The park has CCTV and WiFi is available for a small fee. A dog walking area is provided on site. Find out more here

Stayed for a few days over a weekend in May.
Can't fault the site at all, very clean, staff were very helpful, all in all a very pleasent experience.
Didn't spend much time around Pevensy, though did make use of a couple of the local takeaways, plenty to choose from just a mile or so down the road. Loads to do around the area, with Bexhill, Eastbourne just a few miles away(Hastings and Brighton not far either). But with such a pleasant site with play area, and beach (barely a stones throw away), I could understand not wandering too far.
Will be retuning later in the year, one thing to bear in mind, ring/book ahead as we tried a few times and found to be full!

Stayed on this site for five nights 17th -22nd April 2008, we travelled from Dorset and arranged to meet up with friends from Norfolk. We had pre-booked through the Camping & Caravan Club, but the friendly and helpful site manager managed to put us on 3 adjacent pitches. We were unlucky with the weather, experiencing strong easterly winds and heavy rain throughout two of the nights, which meant some of the grass pitches were quite waterlogged.
We were close to the toilet & shower block, which were scruplously clean. My only complaint was the road round the site was full of pot-holes. The site shop was well stocked, and each day fresh baked scones and croissants were available – delivered from the local bakery in Pevensey. Can highly recommend them they were scrumptious! Although a visiting fish and chip van was advertised, unfortunately they only visited when the site was busier. We found an Indian takeaway leaflet in the information office and phoned and ordered a meal on Sunday – it was delivered to the campsite and apart from being very tasty, Sunday was a special offer night with 50% off.
Monday was a sunny day, and the winds had reduced, we enjoyed some brisk walks along the pebbled beach collecting shells. Fellow campers were enjoying sea-angling and kite flying. We left on Tuesday 22nd unfortunately even though we’d had used “mud grips” under our tyres our camper van was bogged down and we had to be towed off by the site warden’s tractor. It has not put us off returning, but we hope next time to pick better weather.

What a fab site. The site shop has all the basics and a little more, so you dont have to leave if you dont want to. If you trip you will fall in to the sea, its so close. There is a play area. The facilities are clean and tidy. The whole site had a lovely family atmosphere. The children did not want to come home. We did walk to the shops nearby (in the scorching sun), which was ok for us, but the children (8+3) found it too far. We are booked to go back again already. Well worth going to.

Just stay on the site (4-6 April)
We arrived at 7.20pm and the warden knew exactly who we were - booking in was simple and we were directed to the pitch.
The road around the site could do with some repair. A few too many potholes.
No problems with the Grass mentioned in other reviews and we pitched close to the coast road fence.
The units near us seemed friendly enough and the staff were very helpful.
We headed to Tesco's (a short drive away - and don't like asda) knowing that we might not get back by the 11pm gate lock. It was 20 past when we returned so had to park near the reception/entrance. It wasn't a problem to us, but a motorhome owner wouldn't be happy I can see.
The facilities are clean on site and were cleaned daily - admittedly the site wasn't anywhere near full. The shop on site was handy for things you might forget etc. Has most basics.
Also a nice room with all local information next to reception.
As readers may be aware, it turned a little cold Sunday (never packed a tent in the snow before!). Was grateful to a guy who came to help us from another unit (the wind mentioned elsewhere is impressive).
Yes the road does get noisy, yes the trains are just the otherside, but didn't bother us.
I'd be more than happy to go back.

A lovely friendly site about 100 yards to beach and about a mile to the village of Pevensea. It has a small play area for the kids. The shop is not the best however and has a limited range of goods. They always seem out of breakfast croissants etc. A fish and chip van visits twice a week, and there are several take aways in Pevensea which will deliver. Two toilet and shower blocks which always seem immaculately clean. The Star pub about a mile in the opposit direction to Pevensea does the best carvery I have had and has outdoor seating. A really good site and reccomend it for all.
