August 2004 Just spent a week camping at this site. We were in a large field, which was level. It was very quiet as there were only a few tents in this field, so we had a choice as to where we would like to pitch. The showers were free and kept very clean, but there weren't that many and I would imagine that if the site was full you may have quite a wait for a shower. The down side was the shop, which we were told didn't open during the week!!! But you could ring a bell and the owners would open it up... but you did feel that you were putting them out. There is no play area for the kids and we feel the site would benefit from one. The pub was lovely, situated right on the river, though the staff could to with a lesson in manners... they were quite rude to my 5 year old son who approached me whilst I was at the bar. They do not allow children near the bar (which is understandable) but there are no signs indicating this and a bit of politeness does not go amiss. We would stay again if in the area.

June 2004 large open field for the tents. Very nice. Smelly up near the reception though. Red Lion pub was nice - next to the river. Huge food portions!
Loos and showers kept very clean but were a bit old. Showers unbelievably hot 1st night but seemed to get cooler second day??!!
Would visit again if visiting that part of the country.

May 2004 Plenty of space for tents and caravens in a large well maintained field. Still taking bookings when many other sites had filled up for the BH weekend. Tidy looking site, small shop, helpful owners. Still a few problems with the showers, but it was a busy BH. Good beer from the pub and nice tables by the river. Recommend the pub in Norton village for some good food, less busy than the Red Lion Inn.

22nd August 2003 Managed to get booked in for the Bank Holiday weekend. Extremely busy, so they erected porta loos in the camping field. Quite a nice site, showers were a bit iffy, somtimes really hot water, sometimes just a trickle, although we were pre-warned by the site owners, who were quite a friendly bunch. Only gripe about the site was the rather smelly area outside the toilet block.
Impressed with the shop opening times, they never seemed to close. Came back from the pub at 11.00 pm one evening, and the shop was still open.
Pub was OK apart from having to drink beer from plastic glasses.

aug 2003 Busiest weekend of the year according to the lady who took our rerservation over the phone. Lovely location on the riverside behind the Red Lion Pub which serves some of the biggest portions I have seen to eat by the river. Site itself is fairly basic in as much as there is nothing much for children or teenagers apart from the usual campsite games around the tents. My one gripe is that if this is annually the busiest weekend of the year how come the shower/toilet facilities are not able to cope with demand, only 6 showers in men and womens blocks and no cold running water at all on the sunday morning!! and the showers themselves just a feeble dribble.

25-27 july 2003 warm and friendly site.facilites are clean and plenty of hot water. The on site pub was very useful on a number of occasions. If you are a fisherman this may be the place for you as the severn is also on the doorstep. We will visit again in the future.

july 2003 This was our first visit to this particular site. On the whole it was a very nice site - clean facilities, hot showers, & plenty of room to camp.

May 2003 A nice clean pleasant site, In a quaint setting. The people here were friendly and there was a warm welcome. The facilities were basic yet adequate and very clean. The only issue we had was the noise from a ‘Disco Boat’ travelling up and down the river on the Saturday night, yet that may have been solely due to the Bank Holiday. Would recommend to people who wish for a chill out!

April 2003 We have been to this site many times before with our tent, however this weekend we went in our new caravan.
Greeted with a friendly welcome, and the site was lovely and clean. The best bit- ideal location right next to the pub. So, if your camping cookery skills are not very good, you can sample a dish from the extensive menu available there.
There is also the facility to go fishing on-site.
Would have no hesitation in recommending this site to anyone.

July 2002 This was our "first time" camping experience - went on spec and stumbled across the Red Lion site.
It had everything we were looking for - a friendly but not overbearing welcome, a clean and tidy (but uncommercial) appearance, free showers (all working and spotless) a nice big (and flat!) field to pitch up in... and the best bit - a good pub attached!
I would however say if you have children there is very little here to entertain them (not a problem for us). Its basic, clean and reasonably priced.
As a result of visiting here we have got the bug for life under canvas big time - highly recommended.
