Just returned from a 4 night break with our friends. We requested that our tents could be next to one another and near the park. We were given pitches 142 & 143 right opp. The park. This was really great for us to keep an eye on the kids (ages, 7,7,5, and two 3 yrs old.) The slight disadvantage was that kids came walking past your tent to access the park and also at night your felt very 'exposed' whilst having tea.! until they looked the park at dusk! In our view the park was left open too late as the noise made it difficult to settle our children. However the site was fantastic, the shower block, washing up facilities, pool and surrounding area were very clean, and kept clean. We would go back again without any hesitation but we would choose a slightly different pitch. The people running the site are very friendly and helpful even down to finding the best chip shop! We would recommend this site to our friends without any hesitation, we didn't travel anywhere except on one wet Wednesday morning we found a local bowling alley otherwise the kids had freedom on the site to enjoy their bikes while we sat back and relaxed! We would only suggest that the park close earlier, maybe 8pm. The shop was well stocked and provided a good range of items. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

Fairly small friendly site very clean and tidy, Very helpful staff who take you to your pitch and help you to position your van.The pitches are a good size but very open .The toilet block is possibly the best I have ever used very clean and modern . The club house has a small bar and restaurant the food was tasty and very good value. Takeaway, pool and play area all good. Shop is ok but not a great deal of choice The road leading to the site is a little bumpy but no problem , There is a fishing lake opposite the site opening for business May 2007. Wimbourne is worth a visit market on Sat/Sun. This site is just outside New Forest and within a short drive of all the New Forest towns and attractions. There is a hut on site with local attraction leaflets

Just returned from our first visit to Shamba. We were greeted by very friendly staff, who all continued to be very helpful for the duration of our two night stay. WOW! what fantastic shower and toilet facilities-spotlessly clean and monitored frequently. Not only were they heated but there was a choice of shower / toilet, shower only, shower / toilet / basin combinations - all in their own cubicles - lovely! Other good touches were the cloths and mops to clean up for the next person, free hairdryers and of course the music to dance to in the shower when no-one else can see you! Food in clubhouse and takeaway excellent and good value for money. Pool lovely and warm with good changing facilities. However, when site is full should imagine pool would struggle with number of people. Well stocked shop but no fresh bread when we were there. Washup facilities very good with plenty of hot water. Only disappointment was pitch size - our trailer tent only just fitted with room for the car but no more - also no vegetation etc. Between pitches- not a problem for us as site not full when we visited but would be very cosy peak season. Overall, facilities great, staff were fab, very impressed. Plan to revisit.

What a lovely clean and tidy site we booked as a last minute extra at the beginning of our holiday. The toilet and shower facilities are free and it didn't matter what time of day you went in they were being cleaned. Lovely washup room and laundrette well stocked shop though you did have to pay to hire their ice blocks they wouldn't freeze yours. Swimming pool area really nice and it was nice the fact that they could open the roof if it was really sunny but if it was a bit dismal they closed it so you could still swim. We didn't use the bar area but even though we were quite close to it there wasn't a lot of noise at night. They were quite strict with the quite at night rule which was good as we had a baby with us. They whole atmosphere was friendly and warm definitely a place we would go back to . The kids also had a good time on the play area.

Having just visited this site for the second time, I thought I would update my previous review. The site is still nice and clean with brilliant facilities, although at times we had to cue to do the washing up. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely and warm. This visit we used the adjacent football field which my boys really enjoyed. We had a meal in the on site pub, the food was delicious and very well priced at £40 for 7 people including drinks. On Easter Sunday the wardens did an easter egg hunt for the children, with prise's given out by the easter bunny! And best of all the pot holes in the lane have been repaired. This is a lovely site I would highly recommend a visit.

Hi just back from a super weekend at this park. I understand that the facilities have had a complete overhaul, they were great, clean and new. We had a lovely meal in the bar with the kids, the staff were very helpful, the lady owner even lending us some of her own milton! This weekend the place was full of children and mine lived in the play park which was in full view of many of the pitches. We loved this park because normally to get the indoor pool we have to go to a Haven site or Sandy Balls etc whereas this site was so much smaller and safer for small children. We loved it and will be returning soon. The pitches were a fair size with no vegetation between.

Our pitch was very well placed in full view of the play park(on our request). The new shower block is lovely, but the sinks were often left full of water, you need to hold the plug until completed drained. The small shop was basic but adequate. The pool was fantastic and very quiet although there is no lifegaurd on poolside there is CCTV monitored in the reception. The bar was reasonably priced although we did not get any food so cannot comment on that. The park was very clean and tidy. The only thing that spoilt our stay was a loud group of students having a birthday party that went on way past 2am. The wardens did speak to them, but not until morning. I would return to this site again, its very well placed for south coast attractions.

We have been going to Shamba once a year for the last 4 years.
We were really impressed at the recent improvements. The toilet / shower block is great. It has pine-clad ceilings with velux windows, nicely laid out showers, family changing for the pool and family bathrooms. The clubhouse is very nice too, with a patio area overlooking the pool. The pool is now enclosed but a massive conservatory, which slides back in good weather.
The pitches are generous, though a bit tired, as it was the end of the season.
The approach road is still bad, but once you are in you are in! The scrap yard mentioned by others cannot be seen from the site.
The staff were friendly, we would recommend the site to others.

This was our first camping visit and I have to say that this site surpassed our expectations. We were a little worried about the pothole ridden road and view when driving in to the site, but when we turned the corner and saw the entrance to the site we were more than happy. The receptionist has told me that they would like to tarmac the road in, but as it is not owned by the site - they are not able to. From the friendly telephone manner of reception to the wardens - we were made to feel very welcome. The refurbished amenities are fantastic. The toilet/washing block was always clean, the pool is lovely, with the added advantage of a roll back roof for the sunnier climate! Our pitch was good, however ants were a problem, but didnt stop us enjoying our stay. We would highly recommend this site, and just remember that the road / track is not a fair starting impression for the camp site - you will see what we mean!

We stayed from Friday to Sunday and had a great time. One of the cleanest sites I have ever been to and the friendliest. It was very hot and the pool was a godsend. Good sized pitches that were all properly marked out. Good safe play area for the kids. The only downside was that the shop was a little expensive ( but there is a Sainsburys up the road) and lots of ants. Nice bar with real friendly bar staff and a little takeaway with not a huge selection, but very handy.
