Lovely site. We spent 3 nights here on our way home from the lake district and wish we had been able to stay longer. We enjoyed the lake and its wildlife - ducks, swans and moorhens, who all had babies. There were also a peacock and some peahens and a visting heron. There was always something to watch and the ducks kept us amused by waddling over to see what was going on when we sat outside.
There is a bit of road noise, especially in the adult only area, but it did quieten down at night. We will definitely return.

May 2005 What a fantastic site! Beautiful surroundings. Lovely facilities - easily up to Caravan Club site standards. Lovely conservatory to sit in and enjoy the views of the lake. Lots of wildlife that will even eat out of your hand. Close enough to Bridgnorth to cycle - if you are feeling fit. Will definitely be recommending to friends and visiting again ourselves. One of the best sites we have visited so far.

March 2005 A great site, nice and quiet, though pretty expensive. Showers spotless and site very secure. Will definately visit again. Beautiful surroundings and all the kids (and our dog) loved the ducks and the peacocks.
Easy access to Bridgnorth which has a Market on Saturdays and a Boot Sale on Sundays.
Plenty of local shops and supermarkets

February 2005 Really nice site. Pitches are fairly spacious. Reasonably well stocked shop. Shower / toilet block very clean. Nothing within walking distance of site though. Would definitely go back. If you've got kids then Telford is worth a visit - about 12 miles away and has ice rink, bowling and shopping mall. Bridgnorth itself is nice too.

November 2004 I would highly recommend this site for a visit. We have just returned from a week here and we thought it was fantastic. We had a "super pitch" which overlooked the lake and offered a tv hook up (5 free sky channels) fresh water, drainage and electric, worth the while in the winter as it has an all weather surface, but a little pricy. The site is immaculate as well as the (free) showers and cleaning amenities.
The lake attracts lots of wildlife, take plenty of bread for the ducks and 6 peacocks, (2 adult 4 babies....Nov 04) however the lake doesn't hold any fish....I don't think, there's definately no fishing alowed...Booooo!!! Site 2 miles from Bridgnorth and close to Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Telford, Birmingham, kidderminster, Stourbridge.
The site has plenty of info about local attractions and pubs, taxis, takeaways etc. For a chinese meal try "THe china diner" Lower town Bridgenorth. Hope you have a great time.

October 2004 We have just come back from a weekend at this site. We arrived, unannounced and unbooked on Friday night. We had booked into another site but when we got there it was terrible and was nothing like it said on it’s web page. On arrival at Stanmoor Hall we were greeted by extremely friendly staff who booked us in and handed us a pamphlet about the site and information leaflet (containing useful telephone numbers, map of the site and the code for the exit and entrance barriers.) and a key to the washrooms.
Our pitch was level and sheltered to the rear by grass embankment. In front of our pitch were large beech trees, under which were two picnic tables and the view across the lake was spectacular. The resident peacocks and ducks soon introduced themselves, but were never intrusive.
The site was really clean and very well maintained. I believe it deserved its Five Star Status. When we returned from a day in Bridgnorth on Saturday, all the leaves around the pitch had been ‘hoovered’...!
The toilet and shower block is accessed with the key issued when we booked in. I have never experienced this before but it gave me a great sense of security whist showering. The showers were second to none. So warm and clean. I must admit to warming my towel on the radiators whilst showering..! There were adaptations to a loo and shower for the less mobile and agile and free hair dryers.
The information room is stacked with information about places to visit and eat in. Even down to the bus timetables.
The washing up room was also fantastically clean and warm with an abundant supply of hot water and it over looks the lake so washing up was never boring.
We were the only campers on the site, but I would recommend anyone camps to go visit this place. The only ‘bad’ thing I could say about it is that they do not allow gazebos. They explained that one flew up and hit a caravan, so for health and safety reasons they no longer allow them.

April 2004 I was unable to book two seperate 2 day visits, one in April and one in June. I was told that there was a minimum 7 day booking system. this did not appear in the literature. We were vey disappointed!

January 2003 We stayed at this site as a base for going to Bridgnorth New Years Eve. The site put on a good 'do' for New Years Eve, which consisted of a large, heated marque, food and disco. This was £25 a head and most of the campers seem to go.
The site is exceptionally clean and tidy. I would say this site is good for children and for people that don't want to be disturbed by children. There is an 'adults only' area at one end and a 'family area' at the other end by the play area.
The only danger for young children is the large pond that has no barriers. For older children there is a large supply of ducks, swans and peacocks to be hand fed.
The site also has 'super pitches' which comes with sky tv, own water supply and electric point.

July2002 Stanmore Hall is a five star site, 6 adults went, immaculate toilet facilities, pitches were excellent, beware only breathable ground sheets allowed. secruity stringent. Lake in the middle of the park, small basic children`s park, small basic shop. A quiet and peaceful site from which to explore shropshire. Would`nt recommend to take the kids as some of the caravanners seem to adopt the phrase "children should be seen but not heard" attitude....
