30th april to 3rd may 2004 Hello, we've just got back from Flower Of May, a site we chose due to the good reviews submitted by other members. All of which I completely agree with, on arrival the reception staff are very friendly and extremly helpful, you are then taken to your pitch by the resident warden who also advises you on the pitching layout. The pitches themselves are on a slight slope and are a little bumpy in places but over all they are very good and the slope is nothing to worry about, also there is ample room to pitch a good size tent, park your car and trailer without crowding. The facilities were second to none the showers and toilets were very clean and free, also there is a baby changing room and dish cleaning room also free. For the kids there is a fantastic outdoor park with massive slide, climbing frame, etc. Indoor pool, amusements and bowling. Night time entertainment is great the kids can dance and play games while you enjoy a beer (not cheap but not nightclub prices) they put on a magic show and other stuff till late on that cater for all ages. The on site shop and take away are excellent and open till late, all in all an excellent site and at £12 a night with electric for two adults and two kids (3yrs and 8mths) you cant go wrong, I will definately be going back.

Easter 2004 Just been to Flower of May for Easter for the umpteenth time. Facilities still of a high standard, three shower blocks, well stocked shop, launderette, onsite chippy and cafe. Separate leisure centre with swimming, bowling, table tennis and squash all at extra charges but reasonable. Family bar with kids entertainment every evening high season and weekends. Adult bar with entertainment at weekends. Large childrens play area for all ages. Adjoining 9 hole golf course. The staff are all friendly and the onsite wardens ken and lynda will help you out any way then can. Pitches of various sizes some non electric which are in the paddock and only available in the summer season. All in all I can recommend the site to anyone

august 2003 This was our maiden voyage with our tent etc.. What a lovely site, nice hedge lined 'lanes' with approx 5 pitches each side. We had electric hook up but if you want non electric they put you in the paddock which is more like an open field that you can pitch where you want (within reason).
The toilets were lovely and clean, no sign of dirt like other review said, and the play area was brill for the kids. We only went into the club house 1 night but the kids entertainment was good and lager at £2.20 wasn't too bad we didnt think.
We will definatly be returning to this site, as soon as the new season starts!!

August 2003 FANTASTIC. From arrival you are escorted to your pitch by the resident warden. The shower blocks are very clean. Hot water always. The leisure facilities are superb. An indoor swimming pool & arcade. The bar is modern & air conditioned. The adults only bar is a great idea. 2 pool tables with entertainment at the weekend. The supermarket is very good, no extreme prices. Also if camping a service for freezing ice blocks for cool bags.
All staff very friendly and helpful. A short 10 minute drive from Filey. 15 minutes from Scarborough and 30 minutes from Bridlington.
Can't go wrong for £13.50 per night in peak time. Well worth a visit. 10 out of 10.

The pool was great too the amienities were very good showers changing areas lockers.. it cost us £5.70 for 2 adults and 2 kids and u can stay in aslong as u want.We only vistited the night entertainment on one evening and sat outside watching the children from the vernada outside the bar it was beauitful .We met many new friends and had a great time.... On the downside but not really i wish they had soap in the toilet blocks that was a pain taking a bar of soap everytime we we to the lav ...but on the whole it was a great place to take the family and we will certainly be going back again........ ps if u like a great day out thats not too far Eden camp is brilliant we had a fab time there ... happy camping hugs Dast xx

8/9/10th Aug2003 Lovely site and excellent facilities for the kids and adults. Friendly staff but just one problem with Toilet/Shower floors which were always dirty and could do with cleaning more often.

24/25/26 May 2003 Nice campsite. Paddock on a slight slope and ground a little bumpy however, as it didn't rain a lot it didn't cause any problems. Cost £13.50 per night for 2 adults, 2 children. Swimming was extra at £4.10 for 1 adult, 2 children. Kids disco and entertainment was on each evening and adult only bar was never full. Pint was £2, which is cheaper than most places. Toilet/shower area always seemed to be covered in mud, could possible do with the floor cleaning more often than twice a day. Showers were excellent, quite powerful. Park was big, and the kids loved playing there. Shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. Morrisons was a 10 minute drive from the site. There was an on site warden, and no trouble.
