Stayed here for 3 nights in a tent. The site is very well set out. The camping field was nicely laid out and close to the park for the kids.
The on site facilities are fantastic. The cleaning/washing area could do with some plugs in the kitchen to wash up, efficiently.
The toilets & shower facilities are great. Nice and clean thoughout our stay. The Swimming pool is great and reasonably priced.
We usually go glamping here, but this time they were all fully booked so opt out to camp out. Which was nice too.
We will be back here. Love Flower of May xxx

Stayed here over the bank holiday weekend. Site was quite full but you didn't feel overcrowded. It was quiet at night. Toilet block was dated but clean, did see more modern blocks on site. Good large playground. Large well stocked shop. Chip shop was OK if a little pricey was charged for a polystyrene tray to put our fish and chips in! Had to buy bottled water as we have no filter in our water system and the water had a strong taste of chlorine. The pitch was part gravel and part paved with made it very difficult to pitch our porch awning putting the pegs inbetween the cracks on the paving slabs, making it useless when the wind got up ripping the pegs out. We did have an enjoyable weekend and would return but preferably on a different pitch.

We used to stay at Flower of May year in, year out when I was younger and it's where my husband and I enjoyed our first holiday together many moons ago!
It seemed only natural to return there with our children following my wonderful idea that we buy a tent and start our own family camping memories.
I'd like to say it was as wonderful as I remembered. It wasn't. It was so much better!
Upon arrival we were welcomed by the friendly staff on reception. When I said that I used to come with my parents I was told that many of their customers say the same, which I thought was lovely.
We then progressed through the card operated security barrier (you need to pay a £10 deposit for your swipe card so don't lose it!) and round to be greeted by one of the wardens. He showed us to the tent pitches and, as it was quiet, said we could just take our pick. In hindsight, I wish we hadn't chosen a spot that backed onto the [fabulous] play area. The first night, there were several 'older children' using it and it did become quite loud later on. To be honest, it wasn't dark and they weren't being 'naughty' but as my children are 6 and 3 I'd have just preferred if we were at a quieter end of the field. We know for next time.
The camping field itself was great, flat pitches, plenty of space and there is a gravel driveway around it so it hasn't been churned up by cars.
We had EHU which is metered, we used about £4 over 2 nights. We had the fridge running the whole time, a heater to take the morning chill off and an electric stove (though we did only use this once, more on that later!)
The amenities block was first class. A chemical disposal point, heated washing up area with plenty of sinks, two family shower rooms, and separate ladies/gents showers and toilets. I can't speak for the gents but the ladies had several toilets, enough showers that I can't imagine you'd ever really have to queue for one, vanity cubicles so you don't have to brush your teeth or do your make-up in full view of everyone and an area for hairdryers! All immaculate. My only quibble would be that there isn't a family bathroom and my youngest won't set foot in a shower but he'll get over it, I'm sure. Otherwise fantastic! Better still, there are 3 of these blocks on site!
I actually can't fault any of the facilities on site. We didn't make it to the swimming pool sadly, we were so lucky with the weather that we spent the whole weekend on the beaches.
The shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. The kids loved the children's entertainment and the arcade games.
We decided to make use of the on site chippy on the night we arrived to make things easier on ourselves. It was amazing! In fact, it was so good that we had it on our second night too! We'd have liked to sample the café breakfasts but I thought I'd best show willing and make one meal!
I can't recommend Flower of May highly enough.
We've already booked our return next year and have also booked a weekend at one of their sister sites.
I really hope Flower of May continues to please for years to come and that my children can return with their children and create their own wonderful memories.

We had a great weekend at the Flowers of May Campsite, the drive up to it is appealing and welcoming. We were advised we could pick our own pitch and we were shown to it by a very friendly warden. The pitches were large as we went for a superpitch. Everyone we encountered were friendly and chatted to us.
The shop was well stocked and good value
The fish and chips were lovely and well priced.
The cafe was nice with homemade food and reasonably priced,
Our 2 children loved the play area they said it was the best one they have ever been to,
We sat outside on the veranda in the bar and the view overlooking the play area was great, again the prices were good,
The arcade offered lots of entertainment,
We went to the splash time at 2pm in the pool and had a ball, again very well priced and clean.
The dog walking area is stunning and has a view that you would never tire off. Plenty of space for your dog to run around,
We didn't use the toilets/shower area but there seemed enough around the park and looked clean enough,
We only put £1. 00 on the electric for 2 nights so definitely worth it.
The Scarborough fair was a nice bonus, we did feel it was a little steep for the entrance fee and the kids did enjoy the old fashioned rides.
Overall we loved this site and will be definitely be returning,

Visited this site the last 9 day's of August 2015
Very busy but the showers and toilets were kept clean and tidy
The pitches were fully serviced and large enough
We paid ten pounds for our nine nights for the electricity which I thought was fair enough
The play area was fantastic our 6 and 12 year olds really enjoyed it
The amusement and games room was very good and well kept as the whole site is there was always workers weeding the flower beds, cutting hedges ect
The fantastic museum and vintage funfair is this sites shinning star, we spent the best part of two days in there, the people running the museum and rides are a real credit to the owner
This site is without a doubt the best site we have visited, even the on site fish and chip shop and cafe is 1st class
I would have to agree this is a 5 star caravan park which I hope my family will be having our summer holiday there for many many years to come

Just had a brilliant 8 nights at this site, first time back in about 8 years. The staff were brilliant, always friendly and willing to help.
Toilets and showers have all been refurbished and were spot on, just a shame that some people think it's OK to leave their mess for other people to clean.
Great site, I just hope they continue accepting tents and not let the camping field be converted into statics.

Stayed in a 4 man camping pod over the spring bank holiday, for a family of 3.
This is the first time we tried out Glamping and was very impressed with the accomodation. We enjoyed the comforts of having a bed each and having a few amenaties such as kettle, microwave and heater. Could have done with a toaster, luckily we brought ours with us to accomodate our daughter.
The facilities on this campsite were great. The washing facilities & toilet/shower blocks were on our doorstep. The toilet/shower areas were cleaned often. They had 2 family rooms for showering etc. The showers were free and warm.
The park was safe for children. Plenty of picnic tables and seating to watch your children. Our daughter loved playing at the park & made new friends.
The swimming pool on site was an added bonus to our holiday. We went there once, it was warm and had a jucuzzi too. We went to an inflatable session and stayed there for 2hrs.
We didn't go to the club entertainment, but all I can say is, we didn't hear any noise from it whilst staying in our camping pod.
Cos we booked 3 nights we had a free family ticket to see the Scarborough Fair on site. It was brilliant. They had all vintage fair rides and cars etc. My daughter loved the carosels.
The park was very clean & tidy. There was a fish n Chip shop on site along with a cafe. There was shop too for provisions. For car owners there is a £10 refundable barrier card that you get on arrival.
We enjoyed our stay at Flower of May that much, that we have booked to go again in August 2015 :-) So see you again.

Nice site, clean(ish) toilets. Reasonably flat pitches with hard standing. Metered electrics not too pricey, eight nights for £12. 00.
Fully serviced with mains electrics, water and drainage it seemed to be ideal but there were a few niggles mainly to do with flooding of pitches as drainage was poor.
Garage and a shop nearby but in truth the shop on the site was ok and the chip shop was useful when we came home late one night and could not be bothered to cook!
A nice touch was the Scarborough Fair attraction on the site as I have to say I was more than pleasantly surprised by what was contained therein!
The area has some nice places to visit with some good beaches but. The traffic is horrendous and the roads, although well kept, are slow and winding. One tractor up front and your late! As an example. We decided to go to an Aldi supermarket as it was about five miles away in Scarborough, it took best part of an hour to get there!
Therefore, we decided in future, to make do with the odd park and ride as its economical once parking costs are taken into account.
Would I go back? The site was fine but 'oop North' is not all its made out to be for me. A little disappointing.

Stayed here for 2 weeks, and absolutely loved it. What a brilliant site. Has everything a family would need. Staff friendly, and helpful.
Wash up and toilets/and showers kept clean. The entertainment in the club house was good, and the kids really enjoyed the children's disco.
My only gripe with this site would be that there isn't a wash up area in the camping field.

My husband and I stayed two nights at this site 6th July to 8th July 2014 in one of the new pods.
Take a walk up to the dog walking field even if you don't have a dog for fantastic views along the coast.
This site is lovely and is of a very high standard. It's well laid out and when we took a walk round everywhere was clean and no litter to be seen. Staff are out early every morning picking up litter, emptying rubbish and cleaning the toilet blocks.
The shower block we used (close to the children's play area) was well appointed with plenty of loo's, lots of hot water in the showers (each in it's own good sized cubicle and no extra charge), separate hand basins also in cubicles and a room at the end where you can plug in your hairdryer at no extra charge.
There are also family shower rooms, a pot washing room, laundry etc. But didn't use those so can't comment on them
We didn't use the pool so can't comment on that but the little shop was handy for essentials and extra tent pegs etc. We only went into the bar once but that was fine and the staff were pleasant and chatty. We didn't have any fish from the F&C shop but did have two portions of chips which were delicious!
The pod we were in had a microwave and kettle on a little corner unit, two bunk beds and a bed-settee. There is also a small electric heater which is very efficient, we used it for just a few minutes and had to switch it off as the pod was getting really warm. Attached to the front of each pod is a decking area with a wooden picnic table which is handy in fine weather. To sleep four I think you would have to put one of the mattresses from the settee onto the floor. We felt the head-space above the top bunk was a bit tight for a grown-up so we opted to use the bottom one and the bed-settee as there were only two of us. It was warm and cosy, the insulation is really good and I think that would also keep out noise but there weren't many staying on the site when we were there. We did feel that sleeping four might be a bit tight as there wasn't much spare space inside hence giving 9 out of ten for a couple of the review sections (we have a tunnel tent with a reasonable living area at the front) but our stay was a good experience and I would recommend this site to other campers. Enjoy!
