Just spent a lovely weekend at the Flower of May, our first time at this site. The pitches were arranged so the caravan was pitched parallel with the road so there wasn't a lot of space between the road and the awning but it wasn't a problem.I think most were super pitches which is always easier,my only grumble is that it cost £28 per night and then we had to pay for the electricity on top of that via a meter card but then it's always expensive at Easter. There is an excellent play area and a pool which I think was additional cost, a small arcade, a spacious family bar with entertainment every evening. The showers were nice, clean, warm and free!.The wardens were friendly and helpful We have stayed on most of the sites in the area and I think this site is one of the best.We would definitely go back.

This is one of our favourite sites, it has many different pitches from super pitches to plain non electric grass pitches for tents.
The site is very child friendly with an excellent play area and a great swimming pool. It also has a club house with the downstairs for families and an adult only bar upstairs. They have family entertainment during school holiday's.
The site is well run and the facilities, toilets etc are keep clean and tidy

Just got back from weekend break.
Nice clean and well looked after site, no mud or muddy tacks anywhere on site, grass was nice and short and had been collected.
More like a storage site then holiday park, plenty of caravans but no one to be seen.
Never used any facilities so cannot comment on them, people on reception never seemed very happy though.
Good security on gates with barrier entry system with use of a card.
Pitches are small and if you had an awning up you would struggle to park your car.
Overall I would proberbly use this site again but only for a weekend.

Our first camping trip as a family and this site was perfect. Flat spacious pitches, with card meters for electric hook up which proved very cheap and fair given our usage.
Large childrens park to keep the kids entertained and a constant football match that runs all day everyday on the park field. Toilets and showers are clean and the onsite sop was sufficiently stocked. Nice bar area with very good entertainment for the kids (separate adult bar upstairs for the grown ups) and a good pool and arcade.
Close to local facilities and towns so minimal travel time when exploring. Will return.

Just came back from a 5day bank holiday stay on this site and absolutely LOVED it, sorry to be leaving.
The shower blocks and toilets are clean and well maintained, the on-site chippy and shop very good and the prices aren't expensive (as with other holiday parks - 3rounds of chip butties and a pint of milk £3.50 cheap as chips lol).
The bar complex is excellent the entertainment is aimed at children under 15yrs so my daughter loved it (shes 6yrs old) again the prices for drinks were ok 3 drinks under a fiver (you can't grumble at that) the childrens play park was great and the staff are so friendly and helpful (excellent 10 out of 10)
If I had to be picky I would say the pitches are a bit tiny but thats only to be picky - we loved every minute of this holiday and would definitely recommend to anyone with children.
Excellent site with excellent facilities - keep up the good work and we'll see you next year.

This site is fantastic ! Pitches are well set out shower and toilet blocks are superb, evening entertainment is great for the kids, beer is cheap swimming pool is great and its not a chavy site neither now thats a bonus. Love this place and this is the 8th or 9th time we have stayed here and returning again next weekend with a few friends. The only thing I will say the reception staff could do with cheering up a bit as they can be a bit abrupt but if thats all we got to complain about then it can not be a bad thing.

We have just returned from a weeks caravanning on this site & thought we would give our own review.
First the positives: Neat & tidy site with friendly staff & excellent facilities. Handy for Filey, Scarborough & surrounding area. The shop, cafe, bar, playground, pool, hook-ups & toilets blocks were brilliant.
Now the negatives: A huge majority of the tourers there are permanently pitched & empty which gave the touring area a huge lack of atmosphere & we noticed they all had duck boards tucked underneath.Hmmm! Some of the permanent pitch owners seemed to think they owned the site too! We booked & paid for an awning superpitch after being told there was no standard pitches available. However, when we got there we saw that there was only about 5 standard pitches on the whole site & the rest were superpitches anyway. We were shown to a lovely pitch but not the largest we have been on & put up our awning, then it rained and the awning flooed and filled with water and stayed like that for days! (now we know what the duck boards were for). We literally could not use our awning for the whole week because it just kept filling with water! We went to reception to tell them & the receptionist was very unhelpful & seemed surprised we had complained given the weather. (it wasnt that bad!) but after some time said she would send the warden to have a look but surprise, surprise he never showed up.
All in all a site that is well turned out but pricey per night for a touring pitch & if your looking for that campsite atmosphere it may not be for you & if you have campers who sleep in your awning it definitely isn't.

Probably the nicest camp site we have ever been to. Immaculate in every way, everyone very friendly. The star pitches are well worth the little bit extra, hard standing with awning space, great drainage, water tap on hand. The pool and bar complex were superb, the pool has a minimal charge of £1.50 but is warm, immaculately clean and plenty of life guards watching over the kids. The entertainment is not very vaired but the kids loved it. Overall superb holiday, would recommend to anybody, only regret it that we didn't stay longer.

We stayed at this site after reading previous reviews. I will be honest in my findings of this campsite.
The kids aged 9 & 11 found friends quickly and loved the large playground, swimming pool, although can be expensive if used more than once a day, they also really enjoyed the club at night.
My 15 year old son found the site to be boring as did all the teenage friends he made.
We found the toilets/showers were clean but too far away from the tent paddock. The launderette is very good as is the shop and cafe.
The club, although campsite prices, is quite good, having both family and adult bars.
Now the negatives. We were shoe horned onto a very small electric pitch, which flooded after a downpour and never dried out, regulars told us the bottom corner always floods. The muddy pitch and mess spoiled the remainder of our stay. The paddock filled up on Friday night with weekend drinkers shouting and swearing well past 1 am. The site also lacks the friendly atmosphere I usually enjoy when staying amongst genuine campers.
