2000 I guess its fair to say that this is probably my very favourite campsite (and not just because its close by to where I live!). The site is set in a quite backwater of Wharfedale about 10 miles North of Ilkley. It's well away from the main roads, exceptionally clean and quite. There's always a warm welcome from the hosts Bernard and Anne and every one is very friendly.
The site is quite small (a plus point in my view) and is well situated for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, whether on foot, car or bike.
If you like a good beer there are two excellent pubs in the nearby village of Appletreewick. However its a brisk walk, through the woods and along the river. So its always best to be prepared as the site doesn't sell beer, but plenty of everything else.
Perhaps the only bad point is that although all the pitches are flat, the site is terraced. If you have small children, it can be a bit of a worry as there is a steep road through the site. However both of my young children seemed to have survived OK (with the occasional mishap on their respective bikes).
If you are looking for relaxing, quite place to stay and chill out, you can't go wrong. Get Granny to look after the kids.
