We stayed here as it is a good stopping point for the north norfolk coast path, pretty much 1/2 way between hunstanton and wells.

When we arrived we had just finished the above stretch and as such were hot and sandy, with full walking gear and backpacks and old worn out walking shoes. I didn't feel that this site was particularly welcoming to long distance walkers - it seems much more family groups (i didn't see any other 2 person tents) and they looked at us (couple in our late 20's) as if we were about to start a late night rave and rampage!

The campsite itself is nice, with good clean showers and toilets and fair sized pitches.

The staff weren't overly helpful, they pointed us to were our pitch was and that was it, might be because we arrived late though.

The sight has yurts and tepees for hire which look fantastic but expensive to hire.

My main complaint would be the fact the the pitch we were given had masses of hard rock under it, I think it may have been used for caravans in the past and it was almost impossible to get our tent pegs in (had to bend them all over), luckily it wasn't windy or we would have been in trouble!

There is a good large shop and two pubs within walking distance. We ate at the jolly sailors which although nice was overpriced.

Overall, good services but not very friendly if you don't have a child or a car!

Just returned from 3 very pleasant days at Deepdale. We thought the campsite and facilities were great. Our only criticisms would be: shower temperature was tepid, another shower room would be good and tent pitches are a bit tight if you have a large tent. Local facilities were excellent: information centre, friendly helpful staff, well stocked supermarket and nice pub with good food.

We walked to the beach at Brancaster with a 7yr old. It took just over an hour and she didn't complain much! One hint - if you haven't been to the Norfolk coast before, take a windbreak. We definitely needed ours on the beach, but we'd left it under the bed at home!

On check-in we were greeted with smiling, friendly faces. The reception also doubles as a small shop, equipped with a small but comprehensive range of camping gear.

All facilities on site were very clean and well maintained.

Facilities nearby include: a garage which also sells gas (camping-gaz, etc); a clean cafe, serving good meals at reasonable prices; a convenience store; and a couple of retail shops.

The area is renowned for walks and bird-watching. Just down the road at Blakeney, one can also go on boat trips to see the seals in their natural environment. Hunstanton has a Sea-Life Centre where one can spend a couple of very pleasant hours.

We will be going back to Deepdale in the summer.

Just returned from our very first camping trip in Norfolk. We chose this site as the previous reviews were positive and we wanted to 'play safe' for our first time.

The site was easy to find and check in at reception was quick and straightforward. I was a touch disappointed in the pitch size, squeezed in between two much larger tents but the site was full and we were in peak season, so I guess it was to be expected.

The toilets and showers were well maintained and clean and we didn't have to queue at all, which was very pleasing !

We decided to eat at the Jolly Sailors pub which is just down the road and found the food excellent if a little pricy. It may be an idea to go a bit further afield to eat if you don't mind driving.

We stayed for two nights and apart from some noisy neighbours on the second night we were very impressed with the site and would return if we decided to visit that area again.

Loved the location of this site as Norfolk is beautiful and there is so much to see and do.

The site is very environmental conscious. Loads of recycling opportunities including batteries! And very clean.

We had more than adequate space for our tent but now that we have a larger tent I doubt that we would.

The cafe is absolutely fabulous. The best breakfast ever and reasonably priced. In fact every meal we ate there was brilliant.

The staff were so helpful and accommodating. In fact one day when we had rainy weather we wanted to do an indoor activity and that staff agreed to look after our dog all day and thay wouldn't take any money for doing so. Wonderful!

My only complaints were the noise and the showers/washing up facilities. The grain dryer is very noisy and ran 7 am -10 pm Mon-Sat when we were there (obviously harvest time). It was more intrusive than the planes flying over our home near Heathrow. Also, the site needs more showers and more hot water. We were always waiting for showers and/or washing up facilities. The site was full and we waited one night for over an hour for a free shower. We also queued every night for a washing up basin.

One final remark is that the site is not child friendly. Lots of traffic and no place for the children to gather made it all a bit stressful.

The coastal walk is just across the road though and we would simply head over there for some peace and quiet and a distraction.

We just spent a week at Deepdale and had a great time. The campsite was really friendly, lots of games going on which the kids just joined in. I was worried that things might be noisy late on but every one calmed down mid evening and everything was fine.

The pitches can be sloped, and our 5m tent was almost too big for a single pitch. Any bigger than that and you will need a double pitch, as a number of people had done.

The staff were friendly and always helped with any query. The facilities were good, but at stretching point at busy times as the campsite was full all week. They were kept acceptable clean. Pitches close to the toilets were probably noisy, not least because the hand driers were so powerful.

The shop attached was very good - was well stocked with essentials. There is no beach in walking distance (well not of 4yr old anyway) but the beach at Brancaster was massive sandy beach, not crowded even in Summer Holidays.

We had a great time over all.

Just visited this excellent site on a cycling tour.

Check in was easy, staff very efficent, they gave us a choice of pitches. There had been a lot of rain before we arrived but site was very well drained and pitch was dry. The staff came around to make sure that we could get the tent pegs in OK as the ground was quite stoney underground.

The toilet blocks were OK, but the site was not very busy when we were there so had no problems with queueing, one of the problems we found with the washing (personel) facilities that there was no where to put your wash kit or clothes while you washed. The showers were very good hot and powerful, you had to make sure that your clothes were out of the way or else they got wet due to the showers being so powerful they pushed the shower curtain up.

We arrived on a Sunday night and the campsite owners had arrange a communual Bar-B-Q just bring along your own food (Supermarket on site), great way of meeting others and having a chat.

Other facilities on site, a great little cafe serving really good food with excellent service, opening at 7.30 serving a full menu of breakfasts, several shops and two local pubs both serving food.

The area is great for walking, cycling and visiting all local attractions and very close to the coast (2 minute walk).

All in all very satisfied with our stay.

A really good campsite - clean, hot showers, good shop, really helpful and informative reception. Physically on the Norfolk Coastal Path, bus routes, excellent pubs (The White Horse is lovely), not too crowded.
Real commitment to the environment - lots of re-cycling bins, solar panels and indeed little to fault it. A play / football area though would be good.

(Fakenham has a cinema, nearer and cheaper than Cromer !?)

Just returned from a few days at Deepdale. It was incredibly windy and so we felt a bit exposed on one of the top fields (may have been a bit better on the bottom field near reception.

Very friendly atmosphere and (excellent) strictly enforced quiet policy after 10pm.

Shower/toilet blocks clean and not too crowded although there are only 3 showers and a couple of toilets. Shower has pretty good pressure but only luke warm at best.

Very good shop with everything you need (CostCutter mini supermarket). Opens at 7.30am.

Nothing for the kids to do on the campsite (no playground etc). Loads to do in the area on a wet weekend. We went on the Poppy Line steam train which was fantastic (cost £29 for the family) and to the Muckleburgh Collection of military history/tanks etc. Which was also great(we have a 4 & 7 year old boys). There is a cinema in Cromer which sells out for main films on a wet afternoon so book ahead.

Jolly Sailors pub really good, very family friendly (large playground). Food and beer really good (£10 average main course). Went back on Sunday evening at 6pm and they were fully booked as were most other gastropubs around (drove to Thornham and went to Lifeboat Inn - similar food/prices/beer/kids playground) although had to wait an hour - worth booking.

Just back from a weekend at Deepdale camp site, very nice site, friendly staff and very helpful. Lots of walks from the site, very well stocked shop next door. 2 pubs within walking distance and a cafe right next door but this does shut at 4pm. Would definitely return again very soon.
