I liked this site so much that I stayed heremany times during 2007 including August . Excellent location and great staff, including the only Aussie on the North Norfolk coast!. The good news is that it's open all year round - of course it gets busy during school holidays - but tell me where doesn't .
Good local facilities, although disappointingly the local cafe closes at 5pm - just as everybody is arriving - but not to worry - the food and ale at the Jolly Sailors is second to none - and it is not that expensive - what can you get elsewhere for about a tenner? Just booked hols on the site for 2008 - see you there!

The third time I have been here, this time I had to pitch on the upper fields which are a bit exposed but you are away from the supermarket noises first thing in the morning(deliverys). I found the campsite to be very quiet which is what I like about out of season camping and the toilets/showers still of a high standard. The two pubs in the village The White Horse and The Jolly sailors are both Camra listed and consequently serve quality real ales and are within easy walking distance. I ate at The Jolly Sailors which I agree was a little pricey, nearly £10 for fish and chips but was excellent and I got 10% off for camping at Deepdale. No problems with reception where I found the receptionist very helpful and was charged £5.50/night.

We camped here last year in our coleman oasis and decided this year to treat ourselves to a few nights in a Tipi. It was great fun I must admit and nice not to have to pitch the tent for once! Tipi was great , smelt bit 'firey' but it would, it has a little stove inside which was lovely when lit but would not be useable if little ones were in tow, our two at 10 and 6 were OK. These are £90 ( yes £90! ) per night to stay in and would have liked a bit more comfort inside, there was a carpet and backrests that you lean against the poles for a chair ( you sit on the floor and lean against them ), but using these meant you lost space inside so we sat on them flat on the floor. The fur covered mattresses could have been thicker, they were about 6/7cm, and would definitely have bought our airbeds instead had we known they were quite thin. There were 4 of us, two being kids, and wouldn't like to fit any more in for too long! The very WORST thing was the pigeons in the tree above the Tipi, they were really noisy from early hours and drove us nuts! we are country folk ourselves and used to a rural setting, but these feathered friends were a nightmare! The site itself was a bit noisy this time with the shop car park behind us loading / unloading / doors banging etc. Toilets / showers are nice and clean. But two basins for many many women morning and evening is a bit inadequate to say the least, we gave up and cleaned teeth / faces in the Tipi! Nevertheless, the Cafe is SUPERB and makes up for a lot, staff just great, local shop very handy and coastline just stunning. Lovely gift shop.(.But does have a grumpy owner who doesn't seem to like small people very much!) nice shop tho, Fatface of course is a bonus too. Top of the list to change?: Get rid of the pigeons!

Great site, lovely scenery, clean toilets, free showers, helpful staff. Couldnt be better really. Two pubs a short walk away.
Food pricey at both pubs but cheap nosh available at cafe and petrol station/shop.
Plenty of walks (although being Norfolk very flat so not for "munro baggers") from the campsite and village.
Fairly infrequent bus that runs along the coast stops just outside the site.
Cant recommend highly enough really just hope you get better weather than we did.

Just returned from spending 4 nights at Deepdale very nice site. My only faults with this site were the washing facilities only 3 showers for everybody and 2 wash basins in the toilets with no where to put anything when your having a wash, so in the mornings where a bit mad

This was our first trip with the 2 little ones and from the moment we arrived , we discovered how friendly and helpful the staff here were. We struggling with our fly in the high winds with our youngest (15mths) crying on the grass, when along came our knight in shining armour to save the day(it was a she however I don't know the female equivalent of a knight) who helped us figure what went where and peg it down. We have a Vango 600 and MPV and the pitch was sufficient for both. Nice level grass which I believe is mown regularly. The shower block and washing facilities are good and kept clean. The shower I had on the next morning was freezing and I suspect that they ran out of hot water as they were full that weekend because the rest of the week, whilst it was quieter I had nice hot showers. The reception is also the local Tourist Information, so plent of resources for stuff to do. Deepdale cafe round the corner from reception offered fantastic food up to 5pm, thereafter it's a 5 minute drive to the Jolly Sailor pub for good food and great play area for children. The site itself doesn't have a play area but our oldest ( 3 yrs) managed to befriend easily and run about playing with her ball etc. The site is strict on no noise after 10pm and although we never heard anything, one of the staff asked if we had the previous evening and if we did not to hesitate to let then know as they took this quite seriously. As for things to do there are we did the beech at a 5min drive, a great small gauge railway in Wells, Seal watch boat trips, Hunstanton Sea Life Sanctuary to mention a few. On Sundays the site offers it's users a BBQ and quiz night, where you take along your own food and optional booze and everybody chucks there food on the large BBQ. We won the quiz on our stay.and 13 quid! All in all I would recommend this site.

Not at all sure about this one, we tried Deepdale farm when our usual Norfolk haunt, High Sand at Stiffkey was full at May bank holiday weekend. (we’re teachers – so we always struggle during the main children’s holidays). We were rather disappointed by Deepdale farm, first getting off to a bad start as we were checked in by a receptionist who didn’t really speak fluent English so even with our ‘professional patience’ he couldn’t understand us or we him. We were not given a choice of pitch and were sited on an exposed open field where tents and campers are packed in rows and are also sited back to back with no boundary (except a 12” high row of sticks) so we had 5 very close neighbours, on each side and behind us plus behind on each side. Quite a lot of rather noisy families and a big, barking uncontrolled dog. Most sites insist on a fire safety 6m gap between tent or campervans, here the gap was sometimes just inches! It was patently obvious when the pubs closed too, with lots of people coming onto the site from the village pubs. The toilets and showers look very new but weren’t kept clean so a bit of a state after 10am. Luckily we have our own loo in our campervan. Have seen far worse though. Showers cool or cold and definitely not enough with 3 plus a disabled for an 80 odd pitch site so potentially 400 plus people for morning ablutions. Good outside wash-up facilities although again no hot water so need to take a hot kettle with you. The site is not as ‘rural’ as the website suggests as it’s on the main busy coast road and part of a medium sized (although useful) shopping complex and busy youth hostel. There was lots of disturbance from a large car park for the supermarket next door with delivery vans crunching in and out over the gravel surface and slamming van doors at all hours, particularly very early. We probably would be unlikely to use this site again, and certainly not during main school holidays. May be good bet for off season short weekends or young families etc who need lots of nearby facilities more than peace and quiet. On the plus side, nearby Brancaster beach was fabulous, and despite the throngs of bank holiday visitors, was big enough to get away from it all. But all in all, we got home feeling that we needed a holiday!

The second time I have camped here and a little disappointed compared to the first, yes it was late in the season but the pitches were horribly worn and the refridgeration fan of the new supermarket next door ran through the night as well as early delivery's to it. However the toilet block / showers must be one of the best of the many campsites I have used and this was for £3/night and I would suggest to any would be camper here to use the top field to avoid the supermarket noise. The campsite is near the coastal path so you can walk east as far as Wells or west to Burnham catching the reliable coast hopper bus back if necessary. In the evening you can walk to the nearby White Horse with its views over the marshes or Jolly Sailors further on. We preferred the latter where we enjoyed the quality food and locally produced real ales,a favourite of mine being Brancaster IPA The reception staff were very helpful.

This is a fantastic campsite for couples and families, the quiet after 10pm rule is adhered to so groups of noisy people wouldn't be welcome there. The showers and toilets are kept spotless, and there are good washing up facilities. All the staff are really friendly and couldn't do enough to help make our stay pleasant. the food in the Deepdale cafe is the the only good food we managed to find in North Norfolk and I highly recommend it. All in all a very good site that we'll be visiting again (but not with my noisy mates;-))

Felt slightly let down by this site. The pitches were too close together, and when full I could see this being a problem, and there is no play area for the children. On the first day, they played in the empty field, but this was full up on the second day. The showers were hot, but as usual not enough of them! Also there were no hairdryers, or even anywhere to plug your own in (sorry girls!). The toilets were ok, but no soap to wash your hands. The washing up facilities were ok with plenty of hot water, but two of the four sinks were not undercover, so we got wet on a number of occasions washing up! On the plus side there is a very well stocked mini-supermarket at the front of the site, so no need take loads of food with you. The site has great recycling facilities, which makes a change. With just a few minor adjustments, this could be a really good site.
