This was our third visit to this site. We like the location – shops/café/bus stop/Coastal path all on the door step and value for money £7 per person per night.

Our motor home is just of the size to be allowed. We were pitched in the Upper Glade which was very level and found the pitch to be of a good size. Despite being the last week of Norfolk school holidays the site wasn’t too busy.

The site requires peace and quiet between 10pm and 8am. Despite it being harvest time the adjacent farm adhered to this and the tractor started at the same time as the 8am news on the radio.

The facilities are good but could do with expanding, currently 3 toilets each for male & female and 3 unisex showers, plus disabled. There are now more Yurts and Tepees since our last visit so the site is growing. I didn’t use the towels in the wash room for hand drying as these looked scruffy and can easily spread germs.

A hot air dryer would be better, but that would break the 10pm curfew as the hair dryer only operates between 8am and 10pm.

Our only gripe with the site now is the empting of our van’s toilet cassette. This is no longer allowed. Previously we have emptied it into the ordinary toilet as directed. But now there are signs everywhere telling you that this is not allowed. We asked to empty our toilet cassette which did not have any chemicals in. This was met with a NO. Not even a conversation. We did see one resident taking a porta-potti to the toilet block to empty. And the difference is? We were told that the lack of a CDP is on the web site, but I have been unable to find this information.

Despite this and now we are aware we would visit again as this is the only item missing from an otherwise good site.

We agree with many of the comments here. The farm was noisy for a day, but stopped at 21. 30 and didn't start until 8. 30 the next morning, so not a problem. Although fairly full a pitch next to us certainly stayed longer than 7 nights, so perhaps it is negotiable. The facilities are limited, but a great base and the walks along the coast paths from there especially appealing.

There is little shade, but it will be better and feel to have more privacy when the hedges have grown up more. Why is it that English campsites don't learn from the French and have pitches marked by hedges on three sides?

A well located site for touring the beautiful north Norfolk coast and the village is lovely with a fabulous harbour.

We were in the lower paddock, in which I think there was 8 pitches, we were in a campervan and had sufficient space, we didn't feel too cramped.

The site makes many requests for peace and quiet to be observed from 10pm - even the use of the hairdryer in the ladies is out of bounds from 10pm! However, the farm yard adjacent to the lower paddock generated a lot of noise from early morning(7am) til 10pm. I know it was harvest time and the weather was fine so I guess it was inevitable - a mention of this on arrival would have been a good idea.

I found the toilet and shower facilities to be fine and did not have to queue for either, whilst the wash ups were busy, again we did not have an undue wait even at busy early evening supper time.

Re the toilets - the towelling towels for hand drying did look rather grubby and a warm air hand dryer would be more appealing.

The site was clean and tidy and there seemed to be plenty of staff available for customers should they need them. I agree that when marketing yourself as a site for campervans/motorhomes a chemical disp. Point is required regardless of your eco credentials, particularly with such few toilets for size of site.

I would stay here again without hesitation but on the basis that I know and accept it's limitations and balance these against it's many plus points.

We visited this campsite for the first time, and were hoping for a beautiful tranquil base in which to explore Norfolk.

We found the beauty in Norfolk, but also found a campsite that packed in the tents and cars to achieve maximum profit. The end result, is that you camp in very little space or seclusion.

We camped in the lower field, which felt like a cross between a car park and tent squeeze.

Whilst the location is lovely, we prefer a little more space and privacy and therefore would not return to this campsite.

A lovely location, especially for the beaches of the North Norfolk coast, including Holkam and Brancaster. The cafe next to the site is superb and the shop well stocked and reasonably priced. We were here with friends and had a lovely time. However, the toilet and shower facilities are inadequate, tired and really quite shabby, given how popular and well-used the campsite is (I am sure they could afford to invest a little in updating and upgrading the facilities). You won't get, well I didn't, hot, or even warm, water after the queues have diminished, so don't bother leaving it til late morning to have a shower. There are only two, perhaps three, showers anyway. The campsite is a few grassy 'fields', with very little shade and the pitches are quite small. There are no play areas for children, so short of kicking about a ball in the field, there is little for kiddies. They are also strict about the 'curfew' and even chatting round the table is likely to provoke a scolding. I appreciate the need for quiet, but if the pitches weren't so cramped, perhaps absolute silence after 10pm would not be so necessary. Would I return? If friends insisted, yes, otherwise, no. I think there are many better sites in Norfolk with equally good access to beaches, walks and woods with better facilities, bigger pitches and much more on site for children to do.

We visited this site during the May Day weekend. Although it was very busy, the site was quiet and calm at all times. It is an eco friendly site so there is no electric hook up available anywhere and no lights in the fields. Despite this, we didn't need a torch. Everything was good about the site except that the facilities were inadequate. There were queues for the showers, the washing up and even, on occasion, for the toilets. All facilities were kept clean but really they needed a lot more of everything.
Management response: Please note that as of October 2016 this site is under new management. Various improvements are being made to the site, including a new shower and toilet facilities which is under construction, along with a new wifi system. Electric hook-ups are coming in January 2017, and lots of new trees and hedges are being planted in early February 2017.

We visited this site for two nights, and initially were very impressed with the standard of facilities and organisation. This didn't last too long. On investigation of chemical toilet disposal, we found numerous signs informing us where not to use, but nowhere to use. On enquiring at reception we were informed that as the site follows eco friendly principles they do not allow chemical toilets. Being open to motorhomes and campervans, many of which have these, even our tent camping friends use a porta-potti these days, surely this is a major oversight. This is compounded by there being only three ladies toilets (plus one disabled), and what ever they have for the men! The site boasts 80 pitches, at peak of season they are going to busy facilities! The showers were also limited, three unisex for the whole site. We visited at the end of season and still had to queue in the morning.

The adjoining cafe was lovely. We sampled two huge wedges of cakes and the other food coming out looked very tasty. The local pub, The White Hart, served very nice food, we went for the tapas, which included beautiful fresh mackerel in tempura batter, and potted brown shrimps. The area is good for long walks along the Norfolk coastal path, but the site wasn't quite as close to the sea as we were led to believe by the promotional information!

The site is well maintained with modern/newish wash facilities.

It is near a small group of shops, a petrol station and a cafe. There are pubs close by which served okay food and beer. It is very close to coastal walk routes and is a good base for exploring further afield by car or bus. It was an adult only group but there were plenty of families and the beaches and crabbing would keep children occupied. I would go back.

This site is in a great location to visit this wonderful part of the North Norfolk coast. I agree with previous reviewers that showers and toilets are too few and queuing seems unavoidable. The café and on-site supermarket are great assets, as is the proximity of the wonderful Coasthopper bus service. I was amazed and disappointed to learn that from this year (2013) bookings are limited to a maximum of 7 nights, not the minimum that they state in their blurb. This will surely discourage families from booking if you have to pack up and go elsewhere for the second week of your holiday. It seems incomprehensible.

A well organised and tidy site with lots of local amenities (shop & pubs etc near and also excellent cafe). However it is quite a large site and there were only 3 ladies loos and 2 or 3 showers. Only other note of critique was that there was a wedding going on and loud music quite late. Otherwise very adequate.

Information point was staffed for a good portion of the day and the staff were friendly. Also a dog friendly site, but they are kept on leads at all times so no problem for people like us who didn't have a dog.
