Well what a brilliant long weekend we had at Bron Y Wendon. First time we have visited North Wales and thoroughly enjoyed it. Plenty to do for everyone within a car drive away, visited Angelsey Beaumaris and the Mountain Zoo went exploring the local rock pools and also Llandudno all in four days. Already looking to book for next year but are staying longer to explore further!

The site is as it says in the brochure close to all local amenities and a lovely warm reception on arrival. After booking in, the wardens offered to tow our caravan to the pitch as the minute journey encountered a slight dip and then an incline to the hard standing designated location. This was the same when we vacated the pitch and the wardens stayed with us until we had re hooked up ourselves and actually driven off the premises which is a nice individual touch.

One negative we found was the cold shower block, it took a while for the warm water to come through and also a curtain would be good to pull round to keep clothes dry but the size of the shower cubicals are family size but if you are in with a child by the time you shower youself and step out to let your child under you are some what cold.

One thing to be aware of is if you have young children is there is no play area but not a problem if you are making the most of visiting the surrounding areas.

Again repeating what some of the other reviewers have said we were aware of the noise from the A55 which runs directly behind the site but I used ear plugs and found this to overcome the noise.

Overall this is one of the best sites we have visited and will be returning next year.

PS you need to visit the Fair View Inn for a pint and meal which IS literally a five minute walk from the site and is home cooked food at reasonable prices.

A very clean and well run site with very friendly staff. Didn't use the facilities so can't comment but I'm sure they will be as clean as the site. Hardstandings as well as grass. We were down near the railway line. It didn't bother me but did my wife. What did bother me was the road noise. Its a very busy road and seems to run all night as well. The local pub does good value meals and is only ten minutes walk. The nearer the front you are the less you can see of the sea because of high trees bordering the railway line.

Just visited this park for a couple of nights and it was a pleasure all the staff polite and really helpful on arrival and throughout our stay

All facilities were clean and easily accessible 24 hrs a day

Tourist information available

All areas throughout the park clean and tidy

A few amenities close by within walking distance pub / shop / take-away and garage

A short drive into the nearest town

Big pitches available for RVs and good access

The traffic may be a problem for some people as it is close to busy roads but you should know this before booking

Would visit again

Stayed here during the first two weeks of August. Lovely site and facilities but sloping hard standings so you'll need chocks and ramps.

Our stay was spoilt because of the constant building noise from work being carried out to the sea defences. This carried on every night through-out the night. It is due to continue into the Autumn. So, if you want peace and quiet don't use this site.

Discussed the problem with the staff at Bron y Wendon but they were very unhelpful. Our advice is to check with the site if work is on going before you book. We were given no advance notice. New arrivals who pitched adjacent to our unit were not told about the noise problem either. We witnessed lots of units leaving because of the noise from the beach area.

Other problems were lorry drivers using the shower blocks during the early hours of the morning.

2nd time of visiting this site this year. Site is spotless, staff spend plenty of time tending to the grass/plants etc even saw one girl flicking stones off the grass with a screwdriver! Shower block is clean.

All very friendly. Ideal location just off the A55, which makes it perfect for getting around North Wales. Pub, Post Office, Local Shop, filling station and licensed diner all within 5 mins walk as is the beach. Fantastic views.

Negative side - not much for kids, no play areas and the winds are horrific we got battered by 80mph winds one night which ripped the awning off the van. Although they did say they haven't seen winds like it for years, we were just unlucky! It hasn't put us off and we are back again in September for another week.

Have just returned from a super 3 night stay at this site. The site itself is extremely well situated just off the A55, very well signposted and easy to find. The reception staff could not have been more helpful.

We were checked in quickly and shown to our pitch by one of the staff. The facilities were kept very clean with an ample supply of hot water for showers. There are numerous drinking water taps, grey waste disposal areas and a toilet disposal point at each ot the two toilet blocks.

All of the pitches have a 16amp hook up and most are hardstanding. The beach is a very short walk away and there are coastal walks / cycle paths to nearby Abergele (3 miles) and Colwyn Bay (2.5 miles).

On the negative side, the site lies between the busy A55 and the coastal railway line (trains stop at around 11:00PM and start around 6:00AM) so if traffic noise or trains bothers you, you may want to go elsewhere.

Overall we found the site to be excellent value for money and a superb base for exploring the local area.

First class site with views across the bay, toilets and shower buildings looked newly built and spotless, plenty of hot water, washing machines and driers. Hard standing and grass pitches, you will need wheel ramps to level you off, this would be a good site to start your touring of Wales.

Nearby shops, chip shop and fuel, however beach not much to look at. WI/FI was a bit hit and miss, this was the only negatve comment I would add.

The views from this site really are superb. Every pitch has a view of the sea and it’s in a great location - a few minutes drive from Colwyn Bay and about 15 from Llandudno. The approach and tow are as easy as it gets ( it’s straight off the A55 roundabout) but some of the pitches are a bit on the tight side so you may need a mover if you’re not an expert reverser.

The downsides are that as other’s have said, it’s on the pricey side, the toilet block is in need of updating – it’s clean and tidy but terribly tired and the other ‘biggie’ – the noise! It’s right between the busy A55 (which is to all intents and purposes a motorway) and a railway line. The noise from the road at the top end of the field is relentless and if you’re a light sleeper, you’ll really suffer here. The train line (at the bottom of the field) is fairly busy with trains every 20 mins or so but less intrusive than the road.

Colwyn Bay has a few nice restaurants, Virgilios Ristorante is a great Italian just by the station and a couple of supermarkets.

On the whole, a nice site if you’re a heavy sleeper with superb sea views.

Lovely 5 star site - very clean, helpful, friendly staff, right on the sea front. Village has good pubs and a shop and easy access to Llandudno and Conway by bus. We like to cycle and the millennium cycle way is adjacent to site.
Only negatives - a bit noisy and pricey, as other reviewers have mentioned and exposed location makes it a bit scary in high winds!

Just returned from a weeks holiday at this site.

All staff were friendly and very helpful, there seemed to be a lot of them.

The gardens and surroundings were kept very well.

The toilet blocks were clean, but the one next to the reception does need a face lift.

The road noise is always there in the background and would disturb people wanting a quiet site.

The trains running past the site did not cause us a problem at all, they go by so fast.

Shops were easy to find, but there was a lack of nice restaurants and pubs near by.

The Millennium cycle route is very near by and is brilliant.
