This was our first site on a 10 day tour of Wales in our motorhome. The pitch was levelish, not worth getting the chocks out though. The view out to the Irish Sea was fabulous. The amenities were very clean and adequate. We didn't visit anywhere around us because we were quite happy to stay in situ. There was a rail line close by but DO NOT let this put you off, it doesn't really bother you noise wise. HIGHLY RECOMMEND site. Thankyou

Just returned from Bron Y Wendon Touring Park, we have been a few times over the years as its handy for the Llandudno 'Victorian Extravaganza and Festival of Transport' on the May day bank holiday. Very helpful staff who will site your caravan if you ask. 2 toilet blocks with very good facilities regularly cleaned, serviced and hard standing pitches, quiet site even when full, handy for the cycle path and some nice coastal walks.
In the village there's a couple of pubs a chip shop and a londis within 5 min walk, our favourite is the 'Valantine' a real ale pub with character.
As the site is sandwiched between the A55 and the railway there is a little noise, but you don't hear it in the caravan and you soon get used to it.
A nice site well worth a look.

My family & I stayed for one night in a motorhome coming back from our tour around North Wales during the Easter holidays. What a great location overlooking the sea! Having experienced a number of different caravan parks over the years we found this one to be up there with the best. The site is spotlessly clean & well laid out with all the facilities you would need with friendly staff & spacious pitches. The toilets/shower block was very clean, modern & had plenty of hot water. A highly recommended site, one which we would definitely return to in the future. Thank-you Bron Y Wendon!

Cannot understand the poor reviews for this site. Having been to this camp a few times at various times of the year, we have always found it a great site. Ok, there is some road noise, but it has never bothered my wife or myself. If I was sited right up to the road it may have been different story but I believe that I shall get all the sleep I need when I am dead, although I didn't loose any sleep on this site.
The site it kept very clean with very neat pitches, although they are a little ' tight', hence the tracker assistant pitch set up.
Can recommend the bistro along the ' cycle ' track in the Rhyl direction, very good value for your money.
We always have a great time whenever we are here. It is only just over an hour from home so it make a great weekend break.

Just had one night on this site on st davids day. First impressions of the site are that it is well organised. We were in a motorhome and after booking in and paying a £4 deposit for the barrier key, the lady proceeded to show us where to park, this was right in front of the toilet block and all the plots have a raised kerb around the edges and the angle she showed us was awkward to reverse onto the plot as there was a small wall opposite. In the end I had to drive over the corner grass and over the kerb, it would have been easy to have been shown to go around the park then back into the plot. Once set up we did have a sea view from the side windows, and inspection of the toilet/shower block revealed these to be clean and warm. The only downside to this site is the noise of the traffic on the A55 which passes next to the site, this kept us awake in the night. There is a railway ( holyhead to crewe line ) right next to the site but the trains were quiet in the night. We liked the site but due to the traffic noise we wont be returning.

For several years we have spent New Year away from home in our caravan with friends and my parents who also have their own vans. We have always used the same Caravan Club site just outside Chester, a site that we also use frequently for weekends away. However this year deciding that we had been creatures of habit for too long we thought we would try somewhere different and more convenient for us to all get to. Having seen Bron Y Wendon many times whilst travelling the A55 we looked them up on their website and spread our wings. However having just returned I have to say that we were very disappointed to say the least.
Firstly to give them credit the pitches and in general the site was well presented and immaculately clean from the moment you enter the driveway and the views from the pitches are fantastic; there is some noise from the A55 and the train track at the bottom of the site but to be honest that didn't really bother us.
Our main reasons for complaint were concerning the poor value for money and the rules, rules and more rules and the way in which they are imposed by the staff. I understand obviously that everywhere has rules but some of these seem over the top.
On arrival my parents and our friends were not allowed to pitch their own vans, (ours had been dropped off earlier by request of the park as we were not finishing work until later so they towed it to pitch for us). The response to why they couldn't pitch their own vans was a rather frosty 'we don't want people to drive on the grass'; considering the pitches were hard standing and straight off Tarmac and they both offered to use their movers for final positioning neither could see any problem but they were refused entry past the gate. Instead they had to wait for a tractor to arrive to tow them to pitch, leading to a considerable delay, not amused and begs the question as to what stops people driving across the grass on departure?
We had to pay £1 per night extra for dogs (a total of £5 per night between us all), so what does the dog get, no dog bins or a dog walk, why the charge?
My mum is currently undergoing cancer treatment and as a result has to be visited daily by a Community Nurse. They insisted on a charge of £1 a day for the nurse to come on site and a £4 refundable deposit for a barrier card. After a lengthy disagreement and a threat to leave they finally decided to waive the fee but why the argument, where is your compassion?
The reception staff were really 'queer' when we had a visitor, they would not let them park their car on the car park in front of reception even though it was empty and had been for the last three days. Again they wanted £1 per person entry fee and £4 refundable deposit for a barrier card. Couldn't be bothered arguing so they just made the 30 mile return trip without visiting, very uninviting and unfriendly!
The 'top' toilet block, which we were told was very nice and had been fully refurbished a few years ago, was locked throughout as it was out of season. We accept and understand that but the other toilet block was in the middle of being refurbished and the Gents in particular in my humble opinion not fit for purpose. There was no heating in there throughout our stay and it was freezing and the only time I did try to get in to one of the showers, the first one nearly scolded me and the second took several minutes to even get Luke warm, so I abandoned it and decided to use my vans facilities. Not a problem but it is when you consider the considerable cost per night for the use of the facilities, so come on Bron Y Wendon, stop ripping people off!
So unfortunately we will have to look elsewhere, as it stands I wouldn't use or recommend Bron Y Wendon, which is a real shame as it's such a lovely site. It just appears to be unfriendly, un accommodating and poor value for money, for a lot less than half of the price of a night on this site I could get a CL with no facilities!

This site has the lovely views over the Mersey estuary. It is just off the A55 which goes from Chester to Anglesey which is quite a busy road day and night.
This is an ideal site as a stop over into Wales and perhaps to explore this part of North Wales but not a site to take children if you are hoping to find a nice sandy beach. The beach is a bit of walk and is a great disappointment being more mud than anything else and not very accessible. There is a long distance cycle path going along the edge of the coast which is attractive to walk along.
The site itself doesn't have any facilities for children or pets. More of an adult site even though it does allow children. Very friendly staff.

This is my third visit to this very pleasant site.
Elevated tidy site with sea views, spacious pitches set well apart at all angles. Grounds well kept. Toilet and shower blocks kept very clean.
Easy to find just off the roundabout. Spacious waiting area on arrival. Staff very helpful and friendly. Card entry system. Tractor will tow your caravan into position. Washing machines and a tumble drier + ironing facility. My orange dongle works perfectly well for picking up emails etc.
Garage with shop selling essentials just off the roundabout. Local walk down to a pebble beach with cycle track alongside. Colwyn Bay and main shops about 10 minutes drive. Dog friendly sandy beaches in Colwyn Bay.
Will be returning in 2015.

Visited this beautiful site and its views for a week in May. The wardens are very welcoming and nice. We were down by the train line with the sea seemingly just the other side of the train line.
The trains do run from around 6am into the evening, we got used to them after a day or so. The A55 was on the other side of the park as stated in previous reviews and that was noisy.
The only real problem we found was the shower blocks, they seemed to be constantly wet, showers didn't seem to drain and there wasn't any mops or squeegees to clean up after a shower unlike most sites.
All in all would we go back, probably not as not the cheapest site by the views are awesome

Just had three nights on this site, was a late arrival and did not have time to look elsewhere. First impressions were positive. The site and facilities are obviously well cared for (although - sadly no shop/refreshments/bar). The location looks great only a short trip from the shore/cycle track and with superb elevated sea views. Although the tariff is expensive we decided to stay. Things went downhill from here! This sites borders are literally sandwiched between the A55 dual carriageway and the North Wales main-line railway. The noise from the former is a constant drone that seems to go on round the clock and the disturbance from the latter is more intermittent but extremely loud (starting very early in the morning until late in the evening) No peace for sleeping OR relaxing around the van during the day. When you consider the tariff £20 low season - £25 high season for a tiny two berth per night plus add ons (£3 a night for a small canopy! and Thursday 23rd May counted as the start of a Bank Holiday Monday weekend???. Etc etc). Loved the North Wales experience, both coastal and countryside but would certainly NOT consider this site in future.
