This is a difficult site to review, but here goes.
First the pluses.
This is a clean tidy site overlooking the sea and only a couple of hundred metres from a beach. The facilities were clean and the staff were courteous and always had a smile. Access was excellent and it's situated within very easy reach of Conwy, Anglesey and Snowdonia. Chester is just a few miles down the road.
If I stopped the review there it would be an easy 9/10 to 10/10. However, a combination of geography and management conspire to dull this otherwise seemingly excellent site.
The minuses
Firstly, this site is never going to get 10/10 because it is right next to the A55. The noise is constant, but we didn't find it intrusive and we zoned it out very quickly. However, we visited in November, so we didn't sit outside or have the windows open.
Pricing. Whilst I appreciate that all pitches were fully serviced, £24 a night in November is still a bit steep, especially given the location right next to the A55. Now we could live with that because there are few sites open at this time of year, so choice is limited. What I found difficult to swallow was that we wanted to arrive on the pitch at around 12:00 to 12:30. We were told that would be an extra £5. Now I don't know about you, but I think charging £5 for arriving 2 hours early on an empty concrete pitch that isn't occupied leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. (We visited a nearby attraction instead of arriving early).
Facilities. As others have commented the positioning of the Elsan point right next to the washing area is unsanitary. The sinks and drying areas in the washing up facilities are way too small and too low. As others have also commented, the lack of any sort of shop on the site or any information leaflets about the site or local facilities or attractions are glaring omissions. There is also no motor home point.
Site. Whilst the site is clean and well laid out, it is all a bit soulless. The site lacks any real character, which is a shame. By character, I don't mean garden windmills and gnomes (heaven forbid). I'm taking more about soft landscaping such as pools, wild areas, trees and hedges.
So in summary, a good base for a couple of nights exploring north Wales, but not really a destination in itself.

Just returned from our first touring caravan trip. Stayed at 2 sites, Bron-Y-Wendon being our 2nd location from 5th August to 10th August. Checked in, ladies on reception made us feel very welcome.
Caravan was parked on our pitch by the staff, then was given instructions as to location of facilities. Its a lovely site, with lovely views out to sea, the staff kept the site very clean, and very well maintained.
There is an amazing walk along the beach, left to Colwyn Bay, right to Rhyl. Very relaxing holiday, would definitely go again in the future.

Very disappointing, it's fairly expensive so we were expecting more. Friendly enough welcome, but no information leaflet about the site or the local area available. No shop, not even basics. No recycling. The site was beautifully kept, but just rows of pitches, few trees or hedges to soften the landscape. Showers etc clean and tidy.
Chemical toilet emptying point right next to the washing up sinks. Major problem (obviously out of the site's control) was the noise from the A55 expressway at the top of the site and the railway at the bottom. The site is a fairly narrow strip and I don't think pitch position would make much difference.
There is a good bus service from the village but you have to cross some busy roads to get there.
The walk along the cycle path to 'Tides' tea shop was well worth it, even the steep road back up to the campsite. We were in the area to visit a friend but wouldn't have stayed otherwise and won't be back.

This was our second stay here and yet again really enjoyed, full serviced pitch with sea views spotless clean with excellent toilet and showers. 20 mins from llandudno with a good varity of shops to suit everyone plus the sea front arcades and cafes.
Rhyl is only 10-15 mins away but has a lot less to offer. Old colwyn has a huge selection of takeaways and I can highly recommend JACKIES ( if you order a large chicken donna THERE IS plenty for two)
When I booked this site the staff explained that because of the time of year the reception would be closed when we arrive( I knew we wouldn't make it until after 7pm) but we arrange that because I had been before they told me where my pitch was, my 13 year old son phoned when we were on our way and the nice lady explained they had put a cone out on our pitch with our name on it, it couldn't be simpler we arrived on site about 7. 15pm (we set off at 4pm) and there was a cone with our name on it.
I would just like to say a big thank you to all staff it was great being able to pitch on OUR pitch and not have to move from the late arrivals bay. I felt the staff went the extra mile to accommodate us and our needs.
My only gripe was the check out time of 11am, I felt this was a little early and ( all my fault ) didn't realise until I went to reception Sunday to thank the staff for all their help, this was 10. 30 am. I did explain we were decamping and would be as quick as possible but expected it to take 45 mins - 60 ( I was offered a late stay £5) which I would of paid without question but agreed I would be as quick as I could to depart and the staff agreed. We departed at 11. 10am ( with out breaking a sweat )
Great site, well placed with only a little traffic/train noise reasonable price and good facilities. £30 per night for 4 adults one child fully serviced pitch.

Friendly welcome. Clean camp site. Clean showers. Plenty hot water in shower. Open views towards sea. Many pitches are sloping. Wedges def needed. Motorway behind and rail line in front.
Constant traffic noise 24/7. Dog walking along coastal cycle/walking path. A lot of poop everywhere! It's a nicer walk if you turn right at beach.
Away from motorway and rail line.

Just spent 4 nights at Bron y Wendon and have mixed views about our stay. The site is very clean with some terraced and some grass pitches, a lot of which have views out across the Irish Sea. I booked a fully serviced pitch and did not request one with an awning. The pitch we were given was quite narrow, with sides of concrete blocks and I could not get our double step under the van, so we had to use it sideways on. The pitch was very flat but was cut into a sloping area, which was awkward as our aquaroll was then on an angle and was touching our van. This was sorted by me with blocks, so no problem. The site was quite full, with a lot of seasonal pitches being taken up. There are 2 shower blocks. Ours had 3 showers in it and I never had to wait for one to come free. Considering the size of the site, I would imagine most visitors were using there own van showers. Showers and toilets were clean whenever I used them. The staff were very helpful and the site is easily accessed from the A55. Therein lies the problem. The noise level from the A55 was extremely high and constant day and night. If you have a pitch at the top of the site where we were, you are within 100 metres of the A55. It was almost impossible to sleep, in fact we bought ear plugs after the first night to facilitate sleep. This was really the only downside for us both. We thought it was an adult only site but it is actually a family site, but there are no facilities for children. When discussing the site with one of the staff, we were told that if we visited again, to request a pitch on either the road (A55) side, or the railway line side. The railway line is between the lower pitches and the sea wall. I cannot comment on train noise as we were well away from the line and it is set below the level of the site, but we never really noticed the trains. Not sure if we would visit again, but would be aiming for a pitch well away from the road if we did. They do varying lengths of seasonal stays which is ideal for longer breaks. A call to the site can clarify what pitches are available. To sum up. A very clean friendly site, easily accessed from the main route into Wales, but be prepared for the noise. If you are deaf, it is perfect.

Just returned from bron y wendon we had booked a super pitch with awning. Only to be put on a pitch which was so small we could not put the awning up. When we complained was told to move the caravan over more we did this and still we could not put awning up. Nobody came to see if we had managed or showed any interest. We thought so many caravans that the toilets were inadequate. 3 showers no private cubicles to each block (there were 2 toilet blocks) was disappointed as had paid a extra for a super pitch. The site was well kept and plenty of green grass less grass bigger pitches comes to mind

Nice site with very good infrastructure and facilities. Greeted on arrival and van sited by staff, dropped it in the car park and they take over and site and levelled for us. Pitches are good and the services all worked. Reception helpful and very professional. Site does not have direct beach access and it is a walk down a steep hill for walking the dog but plenty of space on the front for dog to run. The beach is rocky. The only negative really is the road noise, its not intrusive but is constant and never quiet. Having said that you are only 1 minute off the A55 to the site entrance so it is very accessible and easy access for large units. The site entrance is barrier protected.

Lovely clean well run site, great views, 2 minutes walk to the sea, good location if you have a car, not so great if you have a motorhome as there is nothing near.
Lovely walks along the beach into Pensarn beach. Don't stray into Abergele though as a bit of a dump.
Downsides to the site: won't let you on until 2pm.
Also very noisy with A55 one side of the site and a railway on the other side
