We camped by the lake, and the view was stunning. When I first saw the portaloo cabins in the field by the lake my heart sank, but they were spotlessly clean. There is a children's field two minutes walk away with a play area for under five's. Fabulous site if you want peace and quiet but a little boring for my 13 year old who isn't into fishing! Children have to keep quiet when camping near the lakes to keep the anglers happy - so even the usual exploring activities had to be slightly restrained unless we walked to other areas of the site. We would go again for another short break, as it was clean, friendly and beautiful.

What can I say - believe the reviews - this campsite is absolutely fabulous. The showers are great with under floor heating. And the wardens are helpful and friendly. It rained but when the heck doesn't it anyway it wouldn't be camping with out the rain :-))

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better here. IT HAS. Shower facilities now by the lake and some hard standing with electric hook ups. Perfect. Not only that, new woodland walks and special events i.e. Quad biking various dates and the lakeside concerts. Fantastic site. As always Eddie and Lorna are running around ensuring cleanliness and customer service. Altogether the best site in the country. Fishing well with good sized carp coming out. The most perfect place. Thank you Simon, Becky, Eddie and Lorna for making our stays so memorable. We'll be back again soon .

Located within a lovely area, peaceful and quite. Lots of beautiful surrounding countryside for long walks and short  strolls. The site is well maintained, the shower
and toilets are very clean and tidy. The pitches are flat and spaced apart. Local pub and shop are well stocked and friendly. Sumners Ponds is how camping should be and definitely worth a visit.

We have been camping to a few different sites and this was the best so far! It was a nice small site with excellent facilities. I am fussy when it comes to clean shower and toilets and these facilities were excellent!
Laundry facilities were really good too.

As a dog owner (2 in fact), was really pleased to find excellent dog walks. We also tried the Quad Biking (not the dogs of course!), hubby and boys loved it, it was a brilliant experience. Will definitely return soon, hopefully to do the Quad Biking again.

We have just returned from a long weekend at this peaceful and rural campsite and cant wait to return. On arrival we were greeted by Ed, who showed us to our lakeside pitch, and then reversed and levelled our caravan for us. What fantastic service! Ed explained where everything was on the site and where the local shop and pub was. (Ignore any reports about the grumpy landlord of the Queens Head, we found him to be very friendly and chatty. Good Beer, good food and the perfect host.)

The new main facilities block was immaculate, and I mean immaculate, with heated floor and very spacious. A point worth noting were the excellent disabled facilities, both loos and showers. Also specially designed and reserved pegs for the disabled on both lakes, with easy access.

We have had a great few days, relaxing and fishing (even me, a novice angler, caught some great fish!). The shop and cafe near the lake sells hot and cold food and drinks, and all the bait you will ever need. The owner of the farm, Simon, and all the staff were really helpful and very welcoming. We will definitely be returning soon. We need more campsites like this! Well worth visiting.

We booked this campsite following on from the reviews on this website - and we were not disappointed. It did 'exactly what it said on the tin'! The showers and toilet were immaculate and the warden and his wife couldn't have been more helpful. Fantastic - grade'A' site - would definitely recommend (even if it was just for the heated floor in the shower block!)

When we arrived at Sumners Pond for the October half term, we were met by Lorna and Eddie, the wardens, who explained where everything was. Eddie unhitched my caravan and towed it to the site, and levelled it up for me. V nice service!

The website seriously does not do this site justice. It is extremely clean and tidy, the toilet block has free showers, with underfloor heating, so when you take off your wellies before going to the loo, your tootsies are nice and warm. The washing machines and dryer, actually clean your clothes not just wash them, both are £2.00 (tokens). Lorna and Eddie could not have been more accomodating.

The reception, houses a lovely little shop,(just essentials though) which also sells bait for those that fish. The lakes are fab too and we all saw some massive fish being caught. You can also get a day fishing licence here as well as park right next to the lake.
Lorna cooks fab cheesy chips and jacket pots for those who fancy lunch. There is a dog friendly and child friendly pub about 300 yards along the road and next door to that there is a post office /shop which opens till 7pm. Tescos and Safeways are not far away too.

I unfortunately had to move pitches halfway through the week as the ground got bogged out in my awning, both Eddie and Lorna and the owner Simon, helped me move to a hardstanding and Eddie lent me some awning pegs to suit the hard ground as I didn't have any. Nothing was too much trouble.(There is also a camping shop about two miles away which came in handy!)

The kids had a good playground and the woods at the back of the site have all been paved out with bark, so you can walk for miles. Brilliant for the kids, who all said, " Can we come back again?" We most certainly would.

A lovely tranquil site just North of the South Downs. Two main areas, one with serviced pitches and one around the beautiful landscaped lakes (for people fishing only) plenty of public footpaths around the site and pathed woodland walks. Only two ladies showers for the whole site, so during peak times you could be in for a bit of a wait. A small shop selling basic bits but a Tesco's about 15 minutes away.

We were there with the ukcs meet. The site is on a working farm. Both camping and farming do not clash with each other. There is a really pleasant woodland walk - it is pathed so you will not stray too far. And it is excellent for fishing in 3 lakes.

We were in the rally field were there were no stand pipes for fresh water. But you can get fresh water from the taps in the main site. The showers and toilet block in main site are new and very well laid out. There is a toilet block near the lakes for both fishermen and rally field campers that are kept clean.

We would go again but in the main camping site next time.
