Just returned home from a great weekend at Plas Farm. Fully serviced pitches which is great when you've got a Motorhome so as to be able to fill up on board water tank without having to drive to a tap. Same with waste water being able to empty on pitch. Fantastic setting in Welsh hills I am sure that this will be a 5 Star site next year the facilities are so good. Many thanks to Sian for being so helpful and friendly.

Just got back from a long weekend at Plas Farm, cant complain about anything, pitches all are level hardstanding with waste, water, electric and sky hook-ups. Only has room for about 20 vans but you are not crammed in as plenty of room between caravans for awning and car. Toilet block is excellent and kept really clean with 2 showers in each and also seperate disabled unit.

The kids play area is just right for upto nine years with climbing frame and slide, and a set of goals for football. Its just far enough away from the main site so as not to disturb others.

Not much in the village itself, just a small store and from what we gathered a good pub.

Abergele is about a 5 - 10 min drive away and has everything you need for take aways and large Tesco's. The roads to the site area a bit narrow and up and down with a narrow spot outside the pub. The sign for the site is at the end of the road outside a renovated chapel and is quite small so keep a lookout.

Couldnt get any phone network on the site but that was a good thing if you wanted to get away from it all.

Myself, 2 female friends (30-40ish) and 5 young children have just returned from a fantastic weekend at Plas Farm.

Are you sitting comfortably? Here goes:-

Its a working farm, the caravan site part is new - only a couple of months old. There is a brand new toilet block (mini bungalow) with 2 showers (no queues)and 2 toilets in the ladies,(dont know about the mens!) plenty of loo roll and hand soap, and are cleaned several times a day. There is also a hand dryer and hair dryer which is FOC. The cubicles are plenty big enough with hooks on the doors, showers are lovely and hot (FOC) has a small shelf in the shower itself for shampoo etc, and also a fold down chair for additional items if required - could do with a duck board though as the floor around the shower does get wet, so take in an old towel with you to stand on when getting dry.

There is a brand new play area with a swing and slide etc, and to my sons delight, also had a goalie net (need 2 though!) and plenty of room to have a kick around. We pitched our tent right next to the play area so could keep an eye on them which was ideal. The site also sells a small number of camping items, lanterns, wind breaks etc, so great if you've forgotten something (dont sell pillows though - doh!)

Next to reception is a small laundry room with a washing machine, dryer, (which I think were 2 pound) fridge and even a kettle (FOC). There is also a plug socket for your own hairdryer, or straighteners etc if required (but no mirror). There are plenty of leaflets on things to do - pick up some of these if you intend to go to any of the local attractions as some have several money off vouchers in them.

Be aware that it is highly likely you will NOT get a reception on your mobile from anywhere on the site. Myself and my friends were lost without our phones and were all on DIFFERENT networks. Sian the owner kindly let me use the office phone for a quick call home. We only got a reception when we got to the beach which was a 15 min drive away.

There are plenty of bins on site which are emptied regularly. There is an outside washing area for pots and pans with hot water, chemical toilet disposal area and also a drinking water tap (which has a convenient pipe for bottles.)

The caravans and tourers are on one part of the site, and the tents on a seperate decent sized field (which was freshly mowed for us before pitching the tent!), at the back of this field is a secluded area, so ideal if you want a bit of privacy ;-) The caravan area was flat, and looked well set out. The tent field is on a slight slope though - but we didnt find this a problem. There are several picnic benches on the tent field which came in very handy and claimed one as our own for the weekend! No problems with BBQ's, if needed, Sian will provide you with blocks to put them on.

I'd read previous reviews, and they said the pub and shop were 10 mins walk away. They are more like a 15-20 min walk away,(having said that, we had children with us!) We went to the Wheatsheaf for a pub meal and the prices are very reasonable. 5.75 for cheeseburger & chips, cheesy chips 2.50, combo for 2 6.75, it has a small beer garden, juke box and a pool table which was 60p a go - everyone happy! Visited Bodelwydden Castle which surprisingly my boys age 6 and 9 really enjoyed and spent most of the time trying to entice the ghosts out! (dont forget the vouchers!)

Ross on Sea is a lovely day out, beach is OK - very pebbly and full of shells though which would cut feet, couple of shops, loads of rocks to go crabbing, on the sea front is a decent sized enclosed play area for the kids with swings slides see saws etc and quite a large outdoor shallow paddling pool which the kids loved, plenty of seating areas, or grassy areas for a picnic, the toilets on the park are rather grotty though.

Overall, Plas Farm is in a lovely setting with views of the hills, surrounded by sheep and cows, the owners are very friendly and go out of their way to help (even helped me set up my huge tent), reasonable site prices, what more could you possibly ask for?

We will definitely be going back again next year!

Cracking site, great play area for the kids with football area too. Toilets blocks clean, although only 2 toilets & 2 showers, could be a wait when the site gets full.

Pitches on a bit of a hill, but not a real problem. Enjoyed the weekend despite the weather.

Will return soon!

WOW WHAT A CAMP SITE! My family have just returned from Plas farm. The owners of the site John and Sian are just brilliant its like staying with friends, nothing is to much trouble all they want is for you to enjoy your stay.

The pitches are large with level hard standing and grass area to the side, each pitch has its own water tap, waste water drain, and sky connection all you need for sky is to bring your own sky box and sky card, John or Sian will lend you the cable. All you need to do is plug it in the children love it!

The showers and are roomy with plenty of hot water, a stool if you need it, and four coat pegs on the back of each door there is also a free hair dryer in the ladies the showers and toilet block is always kept cleaned.

My four year old son and his two cosines four and ten loved the play park there were goals for football, a slide, climbing frame, and plenty of grassed area to run round in.

There is a separate area for tents just above the park, there are a number of picnic benches available for all to use. BBQ blocks are provided if required.

Abergele is about four miles from the site in the town there are take-aways, cafes, banks, pubs and a large Tesco’s you can buy most anything you need.

The site is an ideal base for trips to Llandudno, Conwy, Colwyn Bay the Zoo, we spent the day at Rhos-on-Sea which has a good beach and is not over commercialised.

We loved this site and have booked are next visit.

Overall we would rate this site 11/10

We have just returned from spending a weekend at plas farm and had a very enjoyable weekend. Site was very quiet-just what we wanted and the toilets and showers were spotless-to a high standard.

The owners were very welcoming and extremely helpful.

The only downside would be local activities. The local village is in walking distance-about 15 mins but only actually has a pub and a small convenience store. If you are looking for things to do you definitely have to drive. Not much in a way of local attractions although I could be mistaken.

Would definitely stay at this site again.

The facilities are comprehensive, even down to each pitch having its own water tap and waste water drain. These are all level and well surfaced. They've been carefully set out so as not to overlook the units across the drive.

The area is very rural but with good facilities in the nearby village, with a friendly pub which serves a good selection of food and beers. Abergele is a pleasant little place where you can buy most things. The local meat and vegetables were very good quality. No need to hurry!

The atmosphere on the site is very relaxed and welcoming. I'd certainly go again.

We have just come back from a weekend at this site and it was great.

The toilets and showers are clean, fresh lots of hot water. We had our grand child with us and she had a great time in the play area for under nines.

The site is clean, tidy with a welcoming atmosphere. It’s about four miles from Abergele out in the country. Pub and local shop about 15 mins walk.

The owners of the site John and Sian were just brilliant; all they want is for visitors to enjoy their stay.

If you are looking for a relaxing holiday or break in Wales then we can’t recommend this site enough. 10/10

First time camping in this country with kids, they loved it despite the rain! Campsite well laid out, very clean toilets and showers, great welcome from owners, very reasonable priced, ideal base for trips to Llandudno, Conwy and Colwyn Bay. Only suggestion is to put more signs up as you leave Betws-yn-Rhos as it was hard to find.

We have just returned from a week stay at Plas Farm & it was Absolutely Fantastic! The shower block and toilets were immaculate, and were constantly cleaned throughout the day. The owners were very friendly & welcoming, and the site was ideally placed, in lovely peaceful countryside, but close enough to the coast & attractions. The site was very reasonably priced with everything to hand on your pitch, electric hook up, water & drain. We would Highly Recommend this site & will be returning in the future.
