Lovely peaceful and spacious site, situated in beautiful area, with quick access to local villages.
Owner is very helpful and pleasant.
Facilities immaculate, although I did not need to use them, e. G. Toilets, showers; but my daughter, son in law and their children were in a tent and had no issues. In fact, my daughter was impressed with the brand of shower installed.
We wanted to stay for a few more days but, had not booked; nevertheless we will return.
We were confused about where to walk our dogs first/last thing, so, at first I went into the wrong fields - suggested to owner that he puts a notice up in the office block.
Only thing that spoiled our trip was the weather.

Just had a great 3 days on Orcaber Farm, albeit the weather was atrocious. I did the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on the Saturday with Bobby our dog in 11 hours 20 mins for charity. The site itself is set in beautiful countryside with great showers and toilets which are heated. For under £15 per night with EHU we thought that was very fair. Pub about 1mile up the road, Neil the owner of the caravan site is very pleasant and helpful and we wish him all the very best for this new project he has undertaken.

What a wonderful place! We stayed here for 2 nights, we had some trouble with electrics and the booking however, the owner is the most genuine, honest person I've met in a long time, an absolute gent, can't praise him enough. The location is beautiful and the owner really cares about the people who stay there and about the facilities he provides for them. I would definitely recommend this site.

What a gem this camp site is! I agree with all the good things said in the previous reviews. The owners were so friendly which makes such a difference. A lovely quiet site with beautiful views and lovely walks. The amenities are well looked after and spotlessly clean. The showers are 50p for plenty of time, they are spacious with enough hooks. Will certainly be returning here - what more could you ask for?

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Orcaber Farm Site and what a pleasure it was.
This small family run site is immaculate the toilets and shower blocks are spotlessly clean and on our arrival the Thursday before Good Friday a pot washing facility was just being finished off.
There is a 50p charge for the showers however didn't mind paying this as the showers had plenty of hot water and ran for a long time. The owner even put a temporary full length mirror and hairdryer in there so my 2 girls so they were able to have there home comforts (we forgot ours)
The last post did say there was no play area for the kids however my 10 & 14 yr old found the acres of fields and the farms sheep and horses plenty of entertainment on site.
A short walk into Austwick and you will find a pub shop and a little further into the village is a play park where as well as the usual climbing frames and swings also sees tennis courts and football nets.
Whilst we were there we visited the Falconry Centre which is well worth a visit. There are 3 Falconry displays throughout the day and different birds are used for each display.
The first one is at 12 noon so we watched that went and got a picnic from the car and had lunch just in time for the 2nd display, when that had finished tea and cake from the shop before the final display of the day. The staff here are really friendly and even got one of the eagles out of the pen when he heard my daughter say 'I think that's my favourite' for her to stroke!
Another day out was to Ingleborough Cave. We paid 65p per adult and 35p per child to walk up to the cave via the 'Nature Trail' This made the walk more entertaining as there are numbers for the kids to find and then a fact written about it on the info sheet you pick up at the entrance.
We did the Cave tour which is also really good and would still do the walk upto the cave again as its a nice gentle walk with stuff to keep the kids entertained
So Orcaber Farm summed up for me immaculate facilities in beautiful surroundings with amazing 360 degree views and think this will become our weekend retreat throughout the Summer months
Already booked for next month and cant wait to go back
Thank you again

My wife and I stayed for two nights over the Easter break. Weather was dry and bright although quite windy. The site is first class and the reviews are spot on. The site owner is without question the kindest and most helpful owner I have had the pleasure of doing business with. Arrival was short and sweet and very informative. Facilities are first class for both tent and caravan users. Showers are centrally heated, new, very clean and with Grohe hotel style units! Being a bit of a wild camper over the years facilities don't really bother me but having stayed at campsites all over the country this is in the top 3 for facilities. Everything is close to hand. Austwick is a 15 Min walk but the route is safe so can be walked in the dark. The site is also close to Settle and makes a great base camp for walking Ingleborough via Clapham. The owner was a legend. My car had had battery issues prior to arrival and rather embarrassingly failed to start first morning in. Although he seems to be constantly busy training horses, looking after campers etc he kindly offered to jump start my car, apologised for taking 15 mins to turn up with jump leads and then said 'don't let this ruin your stay - just knock on whenever you need any assistance'. I was gob smacked! Even some of my close friends would not have made this gesture in our frantic modern world! For me personally and I appreciate this is subjective, the Dales is the friendliest, kindest place in the UK and should be a blue print for Englishness. A snap shot of a bygone era when people had time for each other and care for your fellow man was top of life's agenda. Highly recommended. Enjoy the Organic Ales - see you again the Summer!

This only our 4th CS or CL but it is the best of them and will be hard to beat for location, ease of access, facilities and helpfulness, having said that though the site is small and has no play area or swings so suited far more to older couples than families.
About half a mile off the main A65 between Settle and Clapham, the road is narrow but has passing places and is not very busy. Open gate access to small field with 5 level hard standings and smallish grass area for campers, EHU's seem to be available for all. Toilet block clean warm and tidy, shower block was opening the day we left and having had a peek will certainly add to the facilities. Currently the only water tap is a long way from the hard drive, not a problem unless you are a motorhomer with an empty tank! Happily we had a long hose! I pointed this out to the owner who said his next job was to put a water supply to a couple of pitches at least, making them full service pitches.
The small village of Austwick is a 1 mile walk away across the A65, there is a small friendly village shop and Post Office which sells most things, we always try to buy something from these shops supporting the local economy! In this case it was some vegetables!
In the village there is a great pub called the Gamecock, where the beer was well looked after and they have an excellent reputation for food. We called in on Sunday afternoon for a pint and were offered free of charge a Yorkshire pudding with a slice of Roast Beef in, absolutely delicious!
The whole area abounds with walks both long, short and circular through some absolutely stunning scenery. One good short walk takes you to the Norber Erratics, a group of boulders (known to geologists as 'erratics') which were deposited on eroding limestone pedestals by the retreating Crummackdale Glacier at the end of the last Ice Age. They make a good photo opportunity and make you realise how the Dales came to be! It is an easy walk to Clapham across the fields via some wall steps and from there you can walk up to Inglebrough Cave through Clapham Wood via a 'toll footpath', it is easy enough to miss them and walk up Clapham Drive through Trow Gill to Gaping Gill and then to Ingleborough and back via Long Lane, a lovely day but tiring day out!
An interest in birds is well catered for on the campsite and round the whole area, we saw and heard Curlews, Grey Wagtails, Treecreepers etc on site and up on the walks, Wheatear, Lapwings and Buzzards galore.
To sum up an excellent place to stay for those who like walking and nature all in a beautiful part of the Dales,
We will definitely be going back.

We found this Campsite as advertised and work on the shower block was in progress and we were the first to use the showers which are still to be completed. The toilets are roomy and the showers are very spacious too and well heated.
The owners are very welcoming and have lots of ideas to enhance the site and all work is carried out to high specification. A lovely pub not too far away in Austwick 20 mins away, Settle not too far away and ideal location for many walks of all levels.
We shall be returning to this campsite as it stands in the most beautiful setting.

We have just spent a fabulous weekend here. It's a fairly new 5 van C&CC site and the shower block is just in the process of being completed. The pitches are large and level and take rock pegs quite easily. There are 2 toilets on site which were clean and heated, and if the shower block is finished to the same standard as these it will be great. There is a small grassed area for tents with a number of ehu's.
Very convenient for the 3 peaks and we had a walk up Pen-y-Ghent on the Saturday from Horton.
Can also recommend the Game Cock in Austwick which is only a couple of minutes by car or a 15 min walk. Excellent food with a French twist!
Owner very friendly and asked what we thought about the layout as it is a new site and he is looking to improve it where he can.
All in all a great site, we will be back!

The other reviews for this site pretty-well say it all, so I only need to add that the shower 'block' is now on-site and the owner is busy getting it ready - I would guess in time for Easter 2014.
I noticed on the lane down to the site a sign saying 'Forest of Bowland', and now having checked the map I realise that this wonderful, but not so well known, area would be easily accessible from Ocaber. I have now bought the appropriate OS map ready for our next visit!
