We visited 3 times in 2011 & will be visiting again this year as it feels like a home from home. The people who visit Cleethorpes really are the salt of the earth, as are the locals. I camp solo with 3 young children & I feel secure that there's always help at hand here. The site is great for children with a small coppice next to the camp where they can explore, it's close to the beach, Pleasure Island & other attractions but far enough away not to have the nag factor 24 x 7 from the kids. Facilities are always clean & never appear to be over crowded. Lovely place, everything you could possibly want.

Just returned from 5 day holiday. Went using the sun £1 camping vouchers. Cost me £25 pound for a party of two, this included entertainment passes, use of toilet/showers, swimming pool etc and 5 nights stay.
Great little town with cheap but excellent indian restaurant called Agrah. Also cheap Carvary right outside campside called trawlerman, £3. 69 per person.
Shower/toilet blocks very close to tent and very clean. Staff very welcome. You can also park your car right next to you're tent. Would def go back.
Enjoyed my stay so much I did not want to come home.
There is also 24 hours tesco and asda approx 10 mins drive away. Buses also stop right outside park.

Really enjoyed both our stays on this site, on the way up and back down our east coast trip. We were not booked, but the very friendly owners still squeezed us in on spare pitches, and were very helpful when we told them of our plans.
The toilets are immaculate. Pleased to see recycling facilities too.
We had no children or dogs with us, but I think there is plenty for them in the area with Pleasure Island along the road and dog walks on the beach.
We certainly would not hesitate to stay there again. I would say the only one thing that is lacking is a shop with basics, bread, milk, etc, that would round it off completely.

The Showground caravan site is only small but a nice relaxing place to be and has many things around to keep the children entertained such as pleasure island family theme park, shops, boating lake, food restaurants, a train tjhat runs round the camp site to the centre of cleethorpes and clothes shops all near by. The facilities on the site are very good and very clean the pitches are very good sizes and big enough for a awning also a good length size. The showers are very clean they provide a mop in the showers to be cleaned after every person. They also offer things to use such as fridge, freezers, washing machine and many more. Overall I would say this site is very good even though there is not a lot for the children on it but enough outside of the site.

Just come back from 3 day break on this site and really enjoyed it. The site is compact but you still get room for your own quiet space. Toilets and showers are nice and clean and the owners are friendly. Its in an ideal place for seeing the sites of Cleethorpes. Dogs can be walked on the beach behind the site. Theres a nice little pub at the end of the road in the railway station, and there's a cinema, kfc, mcdonalds and bowling alley over the road. Peasure Island is only a 5 minute walkaway along with McCormacks pub with family entertainment on.

It is very convenient for the miniature railway. Site provided a book of vouchers to local attractions, which gave a very good discount.
Walked into Cleethorpes the first evening and found a Tapas Bar on the cliff top before the pier, which made a pleasant change. Took the train the next day and explored.
Loos etc. Very clean, only slight problem was finding the wardens pitch when we arrived! As the site was nearly full, we couldn't find the pitch numbers which are mounted on the fence. They were actually in the opposite corner from the gate.
Enough room for children to play without annoying those of us without. The site is quiet at night and during the day only a little noise from people passing on the road to the beach and the tantalising whistle of the steam train.

Just returned from a weekend here it was brilliant, the location is excellent and easy to find.
The toilet block & showers were clean with plenty of mirrors, also an electric point by the doors which is great for hairdryers & straighteners!
Although the campsite was full it didn't interfere with us in any way everyone had their own space, and was very quiet at night.
We definitely will be returning. The site is situated close to pleasure island and the town is within walking distance where you will find plenty of shops, pubs and entertainment, there's also a leisure centre close by.

A good value for money site, well located especially for theme park and plenty of other bits like cinema, bowling ect.Certainly nicer part than town centre where shops & amusement places felt bit run down and tired nearer to the pier end of Cleethorpes.
It's basic site but amenities are kept clean and usable.
We was lucky with weather in our 2 night stay but a canopy over dish washing area would be useful if raining if an improvement could be made.
Noticed a disused public toilets bordering the site, would be useful addition to site if local council could sort out to add to facilities.

This is the 3rd year running we have been for the Mayday holiday, but we were able to stay a whole week this time and thoroughly enjoyed it. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the showers are some of the best we have been in.
It's great not to have to use the car at all, its a fairly long walk into town or a very short bus ride. The all you can eat oriental buffet is about 5 mins walk and is excellent value.
Tesco is about 2 miles away so we find this site has everything you could need just to hand, especially the light railway right at the entrance that goes round one site of the site.
The only disappointment was the annual transport extravaganza on the Meridian Park next door, which has got smaller each year we have been and now charges for entrance, I don't know how much longer this can go on for, we used to come especially for this but its a very sad affair now.

The toilets and showers was very clean and the owner are very friendly and helpful. The site could do with a few paths as when we went we had very heavy rain but there is plenty to do round the site. Good shops and fast food out lets but there is a good pub at the end of the street and it does very good food and there is a very nice chip shop. As you come out of the camp with a 5 min walk you are on the sea front there is a nature reserve on the sea front alsorts of different birds. It is well worth a visit we will be going again
