We tend to try not to stay in the same place more than once however we have stayed here several times. I can't exactly put my finger on what makes it so lovely, but everytime we stay here we absolutely love it, no matter the weather. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and it seems to be one of those sites that attract nice people with whom you can have a chat with. The site is always clean and tidy and although we stayed over Easter I never found the toilets/showers to be busy. The area is also stunning, Castle Howard is minutes away and worth a visit and there are some lovely villages nearby.
No doubt we will be back again.

Hi campers we went here back in April 2 adults 2 kids age 12 and 7 for a 3 night stay we had booked a hard standing pitch but on arrival noticed that the grass pitches were closer to the park so I asked if we could move and the owner was more then happy to move us. The park was a huge hit with both kids and with us too as we could see them from our caravan and know they were safe and happy. We had a great time the pitches were huge had loads of room with your own water drainage and electric points with a bin at the end of each row. The site is in a great location and some nice places to eat within a 15 min drive (recommend Hookleberrys American diner and thompsons fish and chip restaurant). We used the sites facilities toilets/showers every day didn't queue they were clean and showers were hot A nice touch free shower gel and shampoo. Didnt use pot wash did ours in the caravan did use chemical toilet waste it was clean did the job needed. Little well stocked shop kites bubbles balls milk bread ect take note of opening times. Will be back thanks for the break THE JENSEN FAMILY. Xxx

This is the second time we have been to this sit and all that I can say is we find it for us 100% spot on. There is a couple of minutes walk to toilet but the site owner is trying to get permission to make extra shower toilet block. (we hope ya successful ).
Cant wait to visit again.
And if you read this its from the guy who wanted one of your benches hahaha.

We recently spent a long weekend with friends at this site and enjoyed our stay.
The camp site is is a tiered site with the top field being on a slight slope, we pitched our tent on the middle field which was flat in an ample sized allocated area.
The site has a play ground for the kids and is safe for them to ride around in. The EHU was ok but due to someone not using it correctly (as we were later informed) it did go off and on during our stay a little too often.
The slight negatives are that the site could do with an additional toilet/ shower block at the top of the field as it is a long walk to them and ideally a little more space for the kids to play ball games for example in the field we camped in by not having three pitches in the middle it would have given a brilliant and safe place to play in.
One final point is our Sat Nav took us to the rear of the camp site and not the entrance which is not clearly marked as the site.
Overall a really nice site and one we would return to.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the 2nd bank holiday in May! When we arrived we noticed straight away how well kept and tidy the whole site looked. When we arrived at Reception the owner was there to greet us straight away and gave us a handy map clearly marking where we could pitch. We arrived Friday lunchtime and with only 1 other tent we pretty much had our pick of the camping field (It did get a lot busier later!).
There was a children's play area which was great for my 3 year old son-it was clean and tidy and he loved it! The toilet blocks (although quite a trek from the camping field) were kept very clean and there was hot running water, free showers and separate cubicles with sinks and mirrors for getting sorted in a morning/evening! There was also a little shop, laundry facilities, telephone and Pot washing facilities.
The quiet time on an evening was 11pm which most people adhered to. Unfortunately we had the loudest family on the whole field right next to us which was a bit annoying at midnight when they were still carrying on!
There is a gorgeous little pub a few minutes walk away from the site. We ate there but booking is advisable but it was very nice! Plenty of stuff near by-Castle Howard, Malton, Piglets Adventure Farm for the kids and Whitby is only 35 miles away! Overall a fantastic site-the only downside being the long walk to the toilets!

The main purpose of us choosing this site was that we were attending the Castle Howard Proms and for that it is ideal, only a five minute drive away. The landscaping on the site is lovely, it is very clean and tidy and the pitches are some of the biggest we have ever stayed on with electricity and water point on each pitch on our field, they are also very level. The camping area is very well looked after. We enjoyed 7 very peaceful nights until the Bank Holiday weekend arrived when it became quite noisy, although all was pretty much quiet by 11 o’clock.
I am always reluctant to make criticisms of sites, especially when they are as nice as this one, but on the down side the site is let down by its facilities or positioning and lack of them. Only 2 showers in the ladies was okay during the quiet week, but once the weekend arrived they were very busy, you would really have to get your timings right if you didn’t want to queue. It is a good walk to the facilities from the camping fields, although there is a pathway down the side of the site which makes it slightly shorter, but this is not lit so you definitely need torches for visits to the loo after dark. However the short cut to this pathway was blocked off by a tent on the pitch in front of it later in our stay which meant the long walk round. The site was very dog friendly and this pathway also seems to be the dog walk area as there is a dog waste bin down there, unfortunately this was overflowing when we arrived and wasn’t emptied at all during our stay. The pot wash facilities are also down with the showers, we chose to invest in a washing up bowl for our stay and did ours at the tent.
Finally I think the most disappointing element of our visit was the £5 per night charge for our gazebo when they are advertised on their website at £2 per night, awnings were cheaper at only £3 per night. I queried this and was told the price was subject to change on their terms and conditions page, but the link doesn’t appear to work as I was unable to access it.
I would like to return to this site, which really is lovely, but only if another facilities block was added in the camping area.

Stayed here at the end of the Bank Holiday weekend.
The site is extremely well maintained and has some of the largest tent plots we have stayed in. We had electricity and water points. There was a very good play area for children which looked fairly new, however, you do have to walk across the campsite road and for smaller children they would need supervising, although I would like to think that most people visiting the site would be careful when driving on the site.
Unfortunately there were a number of negatives and although I hate leaving negative feedback like this, I know as ardent campers we read this website and appreciate other campers view points and to hopefully help the site to see areas that they may be unaware needs improving. We had experienced a few problems initially booking. No one returned the two messages we left on the answerphone and it took a number of calls before anyone eventually answered. Our initial booking got lost, but luckily the site could still cater us.
The toilet and shower facilities were very clean and there was the right number of toilets. However, there was a funny set up with sinks being in enclosed cubicles (I think there were four of these) but only two shower cubicles. They did have very handy storage boxes which if you were taking small children with you would prove very useful for keeping clothes dry and allowing children to sit and wait whilst you showered. I would take a bag to place in the storage box though. There was shampoo and shower gel in the showers which was very nice. The showers were included in the cost of the pitch and were warm enough. They have a press button for the shower. It is the first site I have been to where even the men were having to queue. The toilet and shower block is about a minute walk from the pitches and whilst ok for us, those with younger children (urgently needing to use the toilet) or require to be closer for medical reasons etc, this would be a problem. The bins were overflowing and I realise this was at the back end of the bank holiday but after reading other reviews I do think they need more bins. Rubbish was blowing around the camping field which was such a shame bearing in mind the care someone had placed on the landscaping. The noise from the road is very loud. We were woken each morning around 5am with heavy farm machinery bumping along the road, shortly followed by traffic. We have traffic at home (living just off a dual carriageway) so are used to a fair amount, but this was quite loud. The camp site are obviously trying to sort this with the amount of bushes and trees etc. The farm traffic would be different depending on the time of the year, conscious that this is the busiest time for them.
Reception has a very difficult turning circle and I would suggest it is worth parking the car up on one of the camping fields and walking to reception (just slightly further than the toilets).
There were a couple of families (one group) that did not abide by the 'no noise after a certain time'. It was quiet until 11pm which is when they returned to the camp site and the noise started. I heard it the first night and my husband heard it the second night (I was too tired by the second night). A number of other campers mentioned it also (one man was playing the guitar and singing very loudly whilst the others laughed and talked very loudly). We would have reported this to the camp site if we had been staying longer than two nights but the reception was not manned very often.
It is a lovely area and not too far from Filey and Robin Hood Bay (approx 40 mins).

Visited this site for the first time for a change having stayed at most of the ones around Pickering/Malton area. The site is quite pretty and well maintained and the people were friendly but as tent users that is where the pro's ended for us. The reception is at the bottom of the site with a very small car park and once you have booked in you have to turn round and make your way back up the single vehicle road to the top of the camp site and unless you are an expert in manoeuvring a trailer or caravan on the back of your vehicle you will struggle to do this.
The toilet/ shower/washing up facilities are also situated near reception and it is a long walk back down. We were shown the shortest route which is actually a cut through some none maintained prickly bushes and shrub and down an unlit rough single track. Not something you would want to be doing if you get caught short in the middle of the night. The alternative is to follow the main road down which is even longer.
The one toilet/shower block only has 2 showers and 5 toilets in the ladies which fell very short of being able to cope with demand as the static caravan users and the tourers all use it as well as the campers. It was cleaned out at night ready for the next morning which was nice but soon became very muddy and dirty once the queue of people had been for a shower. There wasn't a mop bucket for cleaning out either. Also, there is only two washing up sinks, again at the toilet block so we ended up washing up at the tent rather than trek all the way down.
The tent site was a bit of a free for all as the pitches are not marked out and the less experienced campers where pitching up their tents way too close to others, so much so that they couldn't pin their guy ropes down. Also, being at the top of the site you get quite a bit of road noise even late at night.
The play park is also at the top of the site and so far away from other parts of the site that we saw people driving up in their cars to bring their kids to play. But I can say that it was a nice play area which also had an area for playing ball games.
Overall, we felt that it was a real shame as it is a lovely site that would benefit from having an extra ablution block placed near the tent and the first tourer site. If they did this then we would definitely visit again.

Lovely site, really friendly owners will give you lots of information. Plenty of brochures and leaflets in the laundry room for you to explore the area. The site also has its own treasure trail for kids and adults alike very good for getting to know your way around the site. Three fields the top one for tents only which is a little bit away from the washing facilities and shower area, but it is a pleasant walk and that, s what you come on holiday for. All in all a lovely clean tidy site with very large pitches for caravans, own water and drainage but not on all so be aware when booking, pitch 1, 2, 3, do not have there own drainage. Good playground for kids and plenty of grassed areas for balls etc.
