My boyfriend and I had bought our very first caravan 4 days before and really wanted to experience our first campsite so I rang and booked this one. I spoke to James who was very helpful and when I asked for a pitch near the toilet/shower block due to mobility issues there was no problem.
We arrived on the Saturday afternoon driving down a long single track road to a gate with the sign for Norwood Farm, turned in to a huge field and were greeted by sheep and lambs grazing in the adjoining field. We found our pitch with our name written on a board, pitched up, hooked up to the electric and set ourselves up, then we walked to the office and were greeted warmly by Kath and James who were extremely helpful and friendly.
We had the most amazing nights sleep lulled by the distant sound of sheep 'baas'.
The showers and toilets were spotless. The information room/library/phone room were well stocked and helpful.
All in all we are extremely grateful to have had our first caravanning pitch-up on an amazing site.
We will definitely be visiting again and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND James and Kath's Norwood Farm Camping and Caravan site.

Just returned from a few days break at this wonderful site. If you want somewhere to chillout then this is the place to go.
The site is on a working sheep farm and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
We have stayed here a few times before and will return next season. The pitches are of a good size and the showers and toilets and of a high standard.
The roads leading to the site are very narrow and the locals seem to drive very fast so it can be worrying when towing, but the trip is worth it.
A visit to Hythe is worth doing and so is Folkstone. At £17 pound a night for 2 plus caravan elc hook and dog is a bargain.

Excellent campsite! Private, quiet & friendly. Good pitches with level grassed areas.
Modern, clean shower/toilet block with kitchen (washing up sinks, washing machine, two fridges & small freezer) rotary drier & small information office.
The only minor moan is a lack of tumble drier. Reception office manned every day (also sells ice cream/lollies) and helpful, friendly owners.
Our 4th time here, and will definitely be going again!

Well what can we say, what an absolute gem of a site.
We have just returned from 2 glorious weeks at this beautiful site, everything about it was just perfect, the site is in a lovely location and is very quiet, having lots of cycle routes in the immediate vicinity, it is fantastic for both couples and families, and kids are very welcome unlike some sites you go on and your made to feel uncomfortable by taking children.
The site is all flat, the facilities are just amazing, the toilet and showers are spotless, they have a washing up area all under cover with fridge freezer along with washing machine (Tokens available from the office for £3.00).
The owners were just fantastic, got to be the nicest campsite owners I have ever dealt with, nothing was too much trouble and they were just so accommodating as we had an extra vehicle with a jetski, and they accommodated us so well, and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We will definitely be returning to this site, and will be recommending to all of our friends.
To the owners, please don't change anything about this site as it is perfect. Thanks for making our Holiday so smooth and wonderful x

We have just returned from 7 glorious days at this campsite. What a gem of a site!
Tucked away in a quiet corner in the middle of Romney Marsh, away from traffic & surrounded by farmland, this site is quiet (apart from the sound of sheep), flat and well served with facilities for tents and vans (note: no shop, play area, or entertainments).
The site is run by the family who own the farm & they couldn't have been more welcoming & friendly whilst allowing us to get on with our stay.
The pitches are large (10m x 7-10m) & there are many with electric hookup. Many pitches look out onto the open fields. There is grey waste disposal, chemical waste disposal & several drinking water taps spaced around the site. The shower block houses men's & women's facilities & a family shower room. It is warm inside & spotlessly clean. There are 3 sinks, 2 toilet cubicles & 3 shower cubicles in each, plus a plug point (for a charge) & free razor point in the men's. The showers were hot & free. There was never a need to wait despite the campsite being fairly busy over the weekend.
The kitchen area is at the back of the shower block & inside (not just under a canopy). It had 2 sinks with drainers & a fridge/freezer & tall fridge for campers' considerate use. There was also a washing machine in the corner which we didn't use.
When the site office is open you can buy lollies. When it is closed there is an 'office' at the shower block with a well-stocked information rack & a free phone for contact with the owners when they are off site.
If you arrive when the owners are not around you will find they have marked your pitch with a name board, so you can get on with setting up.
This campsite from our point of view is idyllic. We aren't looking for loud entertainment or noisy sites, but like to camp where we can relax whilst having some creature comforts. Norwood ticked all the boxes, particularly as we have a large tent. We will return, particularly as it is near to us & handy for a quick getaway.

We were looking for a quiet site in an area suitable for leisurely cycling (ie flat )and found this site on UKCampsite.co.uk. The reviews were very good and it sounded just right for a mature couple who did not want lots of children making a din or single sex groups - also making a din until the early hours!
We were not disappointed. Pitches are very large, facilities excellent and such great value for money. We camped at the end of school half term week but there were just a few children and they were very well behaved. The owners ask for silence after 11pm and that children are kept on their pitch until 8am. This worked well and we had a very restful stay. The site is immaculate and very well kept - owners are on site for a short while in the morning but there is a free phone on site that goes direct to them if here are any problems. Hot water never ran out, free freezer for packs, great showers and washing up facilities.
Lovely churches in the surrounding area, great cycle rides along the coast and along part of the Royal Military Canal. RSPB at Dungeness is delightful and I'm sure Dymchurch is worth a visit out of school holidays - it was rammed when we dropped by, probably as there are two enormous holiday parks nearby. The pub in Ivychurch is reckoned to be the best for food - unfortunately fully booked when we were there. The Star Inn at St Mary in the Marsh was OK, but not memorable. Very few eateries open on Mondays so we ended up in the curry house in New Romney, which was in fact very good.
If you want a tranquil site, away from it all, without on-site 'entertainment' here it is!

Nice small site. Large flat pitches though (unusual in SE). We fitted our 2 small dome tents and car easily. I think our huge family tent would probably have fitted as well. Very happy not to be charged more for taking 2 small tents instead of 1 large one.
We selected this one as it had no playground. Now our younger one is 15 and we have to pay adult rates for him, I am grumpy and can do without small children. However, there were lots of them playing football in the middle of the site. The owners had put up signs asking for quiet before 8am. However, as the site is small, I don't think I'd want to be here for a BH weekend.
If you book in advance (as we did) you are allocated a pitch and it is written up on the board outside reception. This is only open early and late. We didn't mind but I know some people would prefer to choose.
Nice touches such as a fridge and freezer in the washing up room that you can use for free.
Toilet block was clean and the showers really good. There is also a disabled bathroom and shower which can be used by families.
Owners were nice and left you alone.
No pubs/restaurants within walking distance. We booked to have a meal at The Bell in Ivychurch (4 miles away) which was lovely. Good range and not expensive. CAMRA recommended pub.
Lots to do nearby. We went to Dover Castle and the RSPB reserve at Dungeness.

Third time we've been back to this site. As usual, the shower blocks/kitchen area etc were spotless, the plot was level & well maintained & the campsite quiet. The owners were friendly & very helpful.
Thoroughly recommended.

I have just visited this site as part of a small group booking. The owners were very accommodating. The pitches were large and the owners didn't try and squash people in which a lot of sites do. There is an area in the middle where children can play.
It is a lovely small quite site with good facilities they even have a fridge in the washing up area. The showers are good and the site is very clean. It is close to Dymchurch with its beaches and small railway and within a short driving distance from Hythe and Rye. The dog walking area is small but there are lots of quite lanes around to walk your dog.
If you want to wake up to the sound of birds and sheep and go to sleep listening to silence this is the site for you.

Lovely small and peaceful site in the middle of Romney Marsh with only the sound of sheep bleating and birds tweeting. And what absolute bliss that, thanks to the owners, there were no selfish campers who think it is normal behaviour to switch on their car radios at full volume and blast out rap or heavy metal music from dawn till midnight. The rest of us are then given no choice but to put up with it. Arrrghhhh!
The washrooms were simple but perfectly adequate and there was plenty of hot water in the basins and showers.
The only tiny downside is that since the area is very flat, it can be very windy - lovely when it is sunny but probably not so delightful in colder weather.
