Second time we have visited and stayed in our friends' caravan which is stored here.
Love this site, so peaceful we had a complete rest.
Took our dog with us and she had a great time observing the frogs, rabbits, sheep and the donkey!
We arrived rather late (after 10pm) the first time we stayed after getting very lost in the lanes which are all so alike. In fact, as it was dark, we had actually driven past the site without realising we had done so.
After a phone call, James & Sue came out to meet us and showed us to our van as if it were the most normal thing in the world for that time of night!
We plan to return as campers this year - see you soon!

This is a wonderful basic campsite, staff very friendly and happy to help. There is an area of deep water around the back of the site but if you have children (as I do) they will pitch you away from it. It is very reasonably priced and great if you want peace and quiet. No club house, games rooms etc just a big field for the children to run around and play in just the way camping should be. The owners are happy to let you stay on late on your last day as long as the pitch is not going to be used and you ask them in advance, they also do not charge extra for this. The showers etc were clean and also free. Will be visiting again.

Once again visited this site and cannot fault it. Campers respect the site rules and show consideration for other campers. Night-times are quiet which makes the holiday a relaxing experience, just as it should be. The use of the owner's fridges and freezers means is a fantastic free facility. Our children made many friends and we had a lovely few days (even though the tent was damaged by gales on the Thursday). Will be back again next year - with repaired tent. Thanks to all the very friendly and helpful people on the site who helped keep our tent from being blown away or damaged further using their own rock pegs and gaffer tape. Will pitch nearer the trees / hedges next time.

Lovely, simple site. Clean facilities, kitchen beautifully thought out, and very laid back owners. Not much in the way of amusement for the kids, but if there are a few others there, they entertain themselves. Nice beaches nearby, site flat and pitches reasonable size. Hook ups for most of the site, a bit windy but that's the marsh for you.

Having only camped once before this was a great site to find, clean, well kept very friendly and having a fridge provided made things so much easier. Definitely worth a visit by anyone. Close to the ports if going over the channel or just want a very quiet few days away.

If you are looking for a quiet, stripped-down place to pitch your tent in the middle of the wonderful Romney Marsh, this is for you.
No games rooms or adventure playgrounds, just a peaceful campsite with the essentials, in a small farm with Romney Marsh sheep and marsh frogs for company.
The shower block is clean, efficient and tidy. Picnic tables are provided. The owners are friendly and helpful. The pitching rate is a very reasonable £4.50 per person.
We've already been back and will do so again.

A peaceful and well presented site on a working sheep farm. Pitches are well marked with a large grassy central area for ball games / playing. The local area is very flat and open and we found that the wind can gust (we discovered this as we tried to put our tent up!). The toilet/shower block is basic but modern and clean with showers (plenty of hot water), sinks and toilets (no hairdryer but 20p to use electric socket). Separate washing up facilities with washing up cloths and liquid provided, a freezer for freezing ice packs (free to use) and a fridge which can be used to keep your wine chilled (nice extra touches). No on site shop but there is a small Sainsburys nearby at New Romney. The owners are very friendly and helpful and this is an excellent site if you are looking for a peaceful site and like sheep! (it was lovely to wake up to the sound of bleating lambs). Ideal base for visiting Rye, Hastings, New Romney and Camber Sands. We will definitely be going back.

Just got back from our 1st ever camping trip for the long weekend and we went here, which is not far from where we live. We took our 5year old son. Great site clean and friendly. Our son loved it as he could play and make friends in the central green where the pitches were on the edges. My nan and grandad come to visit us there and they were very impressed as they could walk their dogs in the dog walking area. Again it was very windy but a lovely site for our 1st trip, will be going back again and would recommend.

Visited site with my 5 year old daughter and new tent on a day that started lovely but by time I was pitching tent was very windy - as Romney Marshes are quite flat this was a serious test of my commitment to camping as I struggled to keep tent upright whilst pitching! I mention this as the Norwood farm owners were very helpful and offered to get their son (James) over from the farm to help me pitch the tent! As it happened the family next door came to my rescue, but the helpfulness continued throughout our stay with replacing my gas bottle when it ran out unexpectedly and even taking care of my broken chair and table on leaving the site at the end of my stay ( not my best camping trip I have to add!) The site is small and aside from the shower/amenities block has no other facilites such as playground. This made no differance to my daughters enjoyment however as pitches are arranged to form a central area that the children congregate and play together in. By the end of our time there she had many new friends! There are thoughtful touches I saw here such as magazines in the shower block for you to take back to your tent, washing up liquid and cloths in the sink area and 2 good sized fridge freezers for use - another lifesaver as I forgot to bring my ice packs ( told you it wasnt my best trip!) The location is good as it is only a couple of miles to either the beach or shopping facilities of Ashford and if you are new to kent a good touring spot.A number of cyclists arrived one night we were there and toldme the area is awash with good cycle paths. It is also close to the sussex border and we went to Rye one day. The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway is near and makes a lovely day out for the little ones too.

A good clean site, new toilet block very nice, owners very nice, we went in summer, felt the pitches were a bit close together but overall a good trip! The sheep farm nearby was nice to see and the donkey! The bike routes nearby though on the roads were well signposted, and the roads were very quiet, the RH&DR nearby was a real treat to see also.
