Our 3rd stay here, good as ever, only gripe would be that shower cubicles aren't very large, and are in a separate room from the toilets and wash basins. Also an 'outside' under cover block for washing up would be welcomed instead of having to use the key to access the block for all facilities. There was a lack of hot water at times over the weekend, but it was Easter and the site was full. Would stay again. Do book well ahead as it's popular!

A lovely campsite. Really couldn't fault it. The campsite is in a lovely location about 2 miles outside Settle. We opted for no electricity and camped in the top field, which had loads of space. I apparently booked the last space when I phoned and there was LOADS of space.I think of other campsites we stayed in where we were packed in! The toilet block was immaculately clean at all times with free hot water. My only gripe (and I feel very pernickety mentioning it) was that the 'hot' water was actually quite tepid and after a cold Easter Day hike up Pen y Ghent, I needed HOT water and would happily have paid for it! But as I said, just being fussy! The management team were lovely at all times, and the river area was just gorgeous.we wished it had been warmer to have used it more. The games room was excellent too and really popular! All in all, a fab site and we'll be back.

Was here early April 2006, caravan, 2 tents, i.e, me, son and two daughters, plus dog. Site is in a beautiful situation, right beside the river. Nearby Settle is nice too, plenty good pubs Great spot for the yorkshire 3 peaks, and loads of outdoor stuff. Site itself was very good, no probs pitching tents by the van, toilets fine. Only prob I would have picked up on was that the toilets were always busy with kids dropping litter and playing, but I wouldnt put this down to the owners, just one family who didnt know how to behave. Will definitely be back, bring the wife next time and she can sort out the rowdies!

We've been coming to this site for years now first with my parents & now with my wife & two kids who love it here. The park is much better now & child friendly. The new toilet block is great now, good washing facilities, good showers. Good pub if you fancy the walk.great night at bonfire night everything well laid on & safe. We'll be going back very soon & many years to come.

We have stayed at this site twice now - once in the height of summer and once in May. Lovely setting, right next to the river. The toilet block is modern, clean and spacious. Pitches are a good size - we will come back here again. Only thing to put me off was the booking in procedure - computerised questionnaire, thought they were going to ask my shoe size! I suppose that is getting more common nowadays tho and a small price to pay for a lovely site.

First time to this site & it won't be our last, it was a lovely site, the river was great for our son (13) the toilets were clean every time we went to use them. The different villages were lovely, you didn't have to travel too far if you didn't want to. We went just before the start of the school hols, not sure how noisy the river side get's in the summer from the locals going there. As l say we will be going back again, would recomend it to all! The location of this site is fantastic, surrounded by hills and with the river Ribble close by. It really is a lovely, peaceful and clean site. It’s a great site for dogs as they have a dog-walking field, which is big and goes down to the river. The owners/staff are friendly and always seem to be doing something to the site to keep it up to its high standard. We had EHU and our pitch was spacious and you didn’t feel like you were on top of your neighbour. The female facilities were good with plenty of toilets, 4 private cubicles with a sink, plus 4 more sinks. All the showers are separate from the toilets, but in the same building. These were spacious and of the push button type and there was always plenty of hot water. My only grumble is that the tile grout and soap dishes in the female showers could do with a clean as they had mould on them. Overall a fantastic site and I’m really pleased that we chose to camp there.

We enjoyed a lovely weekend at Knight Stainforth! Our two daughters made lots of friends on the playground which was quiet by 9.30 pm. The surrounding area is simply beautiful with plenty to do. The toilet block was clean and large enough to cater for all those staying there. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. The site was full but there was still plenty of room. It is a lovely site in beautiful surroundings and we will definitely be going again.

Great site, fantastic views, clean and modern toilet / shower block all accessed with a key (deposit required). There is a small play area for kids and an indoor games room. The River Ribble runs nearby, complete with small waterfall. Convenient for the Dales, West coast and the famous Settle to Carlise railway. Friendly owners, no club house. We will be back again!

My boyfriend John and I have visited Knight Stainforth about 5 or 6 times now in the last 2 years. The campsite is very peaceful even when there are loads of kids running around. The Maudsley family are always very welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The campsite is very well maintained, the showers and toilets are always clean and tidy, the shop is well stocked and reasonably priced for all those items you may have forgotten! For those who enjoy a good walk, there are several leaving from the village of Little Stainforth which saves you driving anywhere. The local pub the 'Craven Heifer' has a good selection of ciders and ales and they do a fantastic meal which is very reasonably priced! The pub is about a 10-15 minute walk (depending on how sore your feet are!) from the back of the campsite. The only downside is the short steep hill you have to walk up to get to the pub but at least when you are a bit wobbly from the cider the hill seems a lot less steep rolling down it! We will continue to visit this campsite as it is so far the best we have found.
