Although we have visited this site several times in the past this was the first time we have been since the recent improvements. These have made this site even better. We visited at Easter weekend and were very pleased that even though the site was busy there was still enough space so as not to feel crowded. The fields are a mixture of tents and caravans with hook ups available. Tip - If you can try to pitch your tent along the left hand side of the bottom field, it seemed to be more sheltered.
The reception and shop is handy for the basic essentials and the staff extremely friendly. A £10 deposit gets a barrier key and a loo key. The toilet block is good and the showers are free. The kids loved the improved adventure playground and net fishing in the river at the bottom of the site.
There are a couple of handy pubs nearby and Settle is only a couple of miles along the river. Overall an excellent site and one which we will return to again - one of our favourites.

We have been here many times in the last year as it was recommended by friends of ours. we love this site and find that although its pretty large, it dosnt lose its quaintness. The owners have always been able to accomodate any needs we may have and when we went for August Bank Hol this year (25 of us in total) we found that that we had a full corner pitch to ourselves. I would recomed this site to all and if you have children, you will find that the well kept park is really good.

This site has lovely views all around. the toilets where clean but the showers let the place down a little. Having a shower in the rain would be better, the water comes out in what I would call a mist, ran round shower trying to get wet. They where hot though!
The river at the bottom is great but watch out for the midgies. Nice site worth a visit.

We went to this site with great expectations and have to say that the location is lovely with the river and it,s wonderful views. You can walk from the site along the river to Settle, or into Stainforth which is along a narrow lane, there is a pub that serves meals. The walk up to Staiforth Force is well worth it, you will find the most lovely waterfall in a magical setting.
Be sure to visit Malham cove for a breathtaking experience, especially if you climb to the top, all the better if you walk right round to Gordale scar and Janets foss. Ingleton falls is a good day out too.
The site itself was very full for part of our stay because it was Bank holiday, the staff managed to keep all the bins empty and the site clean but the ammount of people using the loos and showers took it's toll and they did not smell very sweet to say the least at times. We used our own showers because with there only being four there was always a queue in the mornings. There were quite a few people who did not abide by the 'dog on leads'notice, one dog following us off site late one night whilst walking ours and another wandering off from it's owners tent to leave a calling card outside a tent a few doors away. I did report it to reception but the same dogs and a couple of others were still unleashed for the next two days sometimes wandering out of view of the owners

Just come back from three days visit. Apart from the weather (Rain, wind & sunshine)a wonderful site. Facilities very good, clean and tidy (Ladies beware of the site attendant cleaing at 6 am). Became a little busy with children on Friday ( As you would expect) but our first time camper was amazed at how quiet the site became at 10pm. We would recommend this site to anyone and will revisit next year.

Wwe enjoyed our 3 day stay and we will be returning in the next couple of weeks. Lovely clean well maintained site, loads for the kids to do, didn't have to leave the camp site in the 3 days we were there. Very friendly staff always there to advise and help you, cheap shop, (cheaper than most in Settle), good size tent pitches, can't wait to go back. I would recommend this campsite to anyone.

We were put onto a field right next to the kids playground (even though they knew we did not have kids)and to say it was noisy was an understatement.
I do not have a problem with kids playing, in fact I heartily agree it's good for them, but after dark when the kids go to bed, the bigger kids (and I mean 14 - 20 year olds) come out and scream, shout mess about on the play ground etc . It was rowdy!
The other thing was that we were told that there MUST be 20 feet between pitches. We went out one day and came back after dark to find the opening to someones' tent next door no more than 6 feet from our door!
There were a huge list of rules, but noone was making sure they were aheared to. We WOULD go back, but out of season. The facilities were wonderfully clean and the owners excellent when we had to leave early due to an accident in the family.
I recommend that if you don't have kids, and want a quiet holiday, give the place a try, but ask to be put in a different field that the main campers field!
There are lots of lovely walks in the area, leave the car behind! The 2 roads to the site are very narrow, in fact there was a crash when we were there and the road was closed for hours!

This is now our second time at the campsite. Hopefully coming back in September with other friends. Lovely and clean toilet block (and warm). The dogs love the river at the bottom of the campsite. It it also great that you don't have to pay for the dogs and the site is the cheapest I've ever been to. Lovely walk on the riverside to Settle which has a great chip shop.

This is quite a nice site, although it is a bit in the middle of nowhere. You will need a £10 deposit for a swipe card and toilet block key. Toilets were clean while we were there, showers were free, but a bit on the cramped side. Also the room with the showers in is quite small and it does get very hot in there when you are trying to get dressed again from all the steam.
There is a lovely park for the children, and dogs are welcome there. We found a nice chinese take away in the town of Settle.

Just spent a very pleasant and relaxing few days at this campsite. On arrival owners were very friendly and made you feel welcome. There had to be 20 feet between pitches which was really good because you had plenty space around you. Toilets and showers were spotless. The shop on the site sold all your basic foods, with a Co-op store only five minutes drive away. We had four kids aged 8-11 and all loved the playground. The river also kept them amused for ages with the waterfalls and plunge pools. Overall a totally relaxing and enjoyable stay. We will definitely be visiting again.
