July 2005 Great site helped by the excellent weather we had. Staff very friendly and helpful even opening shop out of hours to help. The plunge pools are very busy with visitors not on site lots of groups of young lads drinking. Move downstream if you have young family. Showers good although very small cubicles with little changing area. Toilets OK did become a little dirty during the week although the staff were good about the critism and they were clean again. Definatley go back again

June 2005 We camped here for two nights at the end of June. A lovely site with great views and a river with waterfall running at the bottom of it. Several campers were using rubber dinghies in the river downstream of the falls.
Some pitches are sloping, but if its not too busy you should find a reasonably level one and they demand 20ft betwen pitches, which makes for a more peaceful environment.
Owners are pleasant and helpful with a shop stocked with all the essentials. Toilet/shower block is relatively new and kept clean and well stocked with loo roll, soap etc.
Only one problem, the Dales midges which were a nightmare on our weekend. People who stayed outside around dusk didn't feel them when they had had a drink or two, but they knew about it the next day. Not sure how long the midge season last, but take precautions.
We would definitley use the site again.

June 2005 just got back from this very picturesque camp site apart from the midgies, this site is fantastic. The main field is slightly sloped however there are plenty of other fields, all the facilities are spotless and free but you need a 10 pound dep for a key there is plenty of room for your children to play, the main shop does sell little bits but nothing major so be pretty well prepared, the river is a 2 min walk across the field with some good fishing the river doesn't look much but if you walk downstream from the waterfall you will find a couple of good spots we caught 16 trout altogether and 3 of them were fit for the barbi. This is a really good site just remember your midgie repellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

June 2005 This campsite was our choice for our first ever camping trip, and we were not disappointed. The kids had a fantastic time on what was a very safe playground and enjoyed visiting the cows and sheep alongside the field. Scenery was spectacular, and the owners very hardworking and very helpful with an excellent knowledge of the area. The shower blocks and toilets were always clean. Having borrowed a tent for our first trip, we have now gone out and bought our own and our experience at this site very much contributed to our decision. We will definitely be going back again!

June 2005 Just got back from a great weekend away.
As per all the other reports, site was lovely. The toilet block was well positioned on the site, and was kept really clean.
We also visited the local pub and again can recommend highly.
Overall a lovely campsite in a great setting. I would have no hesitation in recommending this site to other campers.

May 2005 We held a Meet here and what a place to meet! Fantastic site, great owners and absolutely stunning scenery! The site's close to the market town of Settle, where there's supermarkets, shops and a couple of garages etc.
The road leading to site can be a bit 'hairy' if you meet an artic coming the other way! As others have said, the river's a brilliant place for some fun in and on the water! Stunning waterfalls with plunge pools. The weather was warm & sunny enough for some brave(?) souls to take a dip while we were here! All the facilities on site were modern, spotless and a pleasure to use. There's a nice kiddies playground right by the large amenities block too. The rally field was in tip-top condition, with quite a few ehu's dotted around the edges.
There wasn't a single thing that we could find to complain about with Knights, and we'd love to return one day. This is a first class site, run by caravanners/campers. They know what we like, and it was an absolute pleasure to stay here. Brilliant!

May 2005 This site is in a beautiful rural valley, with a river that runs through it. It is very well maintained, with high standards of cleanliness, and an excellent facilities block providing toilets, free hot showers, a pot-washing room and a laundry room. The site was fully booked but there were no queues for facilities at any time. There is a children's play area and games room, plus loads of space for ball games etc. There is a pub that does food in Stainforth (10 min walk) which fellow campers said was good. Settle is a 3 mile level walk along the riverside, and has shops, cafes, pubs and a tourist information office. It's in an excellent area for the walking country of the Dales and many other attractions.
All in all, a superb site, run by friendly and helpful folks, which would suit families or any campers wanting a good base for a walking holiday. We will definitely visit again.

September 2004 This is a great site - I agree with all the previous reviewers. The river and waterfalls are stunning, we even had the warmest September day on record - apparently! I have absolutely no complaints about the site whatsoever. There's even a nice pub about 15 mins walk over the bridge - didn't try the food though. Highly recommend.

August 2004 What a beautiful place,if you like stunning scenery and walking this place is a second heaven. Toilets and showers very clean and heated, free hot water so no need for coins.Good laundry facilities with washers dryers and ironing. New playground and games room with pool and t.v for kids. Owners very nice and helpful, small shop with basics. Telephone box handy as we couldn't get a signal for our mobile. The waterfall and riverside walks are great and the fall was in full spate and quite spectacular whilst we were there. We will definately be going back, its the best stress buster ever.

August 2004 Our first camping experience for 6 years was great . The site is surrounded by lovely countryside with a fantastic fast flowing river 100 yards from the pitching areas. The kids loved the play area. The loos and showers were very clean and warm although the water could have been a little warmer. There is a decent pub called the Craven heifer 10 minutes walk from site in Stainforth which welcomes kids up to 9.00pm.The best pub we found was the Harts head Hotel in Giggleswick (2miles from site) the food here was home cooked and very good.
