Had a fabulous time at Glen Nevis ! Facilities are great. The sockets in the toilet/shower blocks are a great bonus (hair straighteners etc)

Plenty to do in the surrounding area (even in the rain, which there was plenty of)

The children's play area proved a hit with the kids.

We had booked in advance and were allocated a field, very roomy. Although On our last night when the field still had plenty of space, we were slightly disappointed to find a family pitching within 2/3 metres of us.

As it was out last night we never brought it to the staffs attention, although I do feel they would have moved them.

Looking forward to our next visit as our daughter (3 & 9) loved the site!

This is a very large and well organised site catering in equal measure for campers after a relaxing holiday and backpackers, cyclists and Ben Nevis climbers who are just passing through.

The site is generally split into two sections; one for tents and one for vans. There are various tent fields some offering EHU. I am not sure how many tent pitches there are exactly with EHU but there appeared to be fewer than I expected – check if this is essential to you, as one field with EHU points is for reservations only (which cost you a bit of a cheeky £10 charge). Some tent pitches are on a slight slope but the majority are on the flat.

The site has numerous facility blocks (it is a big site) which are modern and kept very clean. There are also washing machines and dryers (coin operated), and indoor pot washing sinks.

The site shop is very large as site shops go and stocks all manner of food items and even some basic camping equipment, if a little on the expensive side. I assume that this is where you can get your ice packs refrozen, possibly for a small charge.

There is also an on site bar and restaurant, but this is very expensive. Those on a budget but still wanting a few pints and some pub grub are better off going into Fort William were there a few pubs and a “Brewers Fare” type place. There is also a large Morrison’s supermarket for the cheapest supplies.

The reason most people visit this site is, naturally, Ben Nevis. The convenience cannot be understated. The site is literally at the foot of the mountain so no travelling is required if you want to attempt the summit. There are also good waking opportunities in the Glen where the site is.

In summary, an excellent site, well maintained and managed and located, and a must for any potential Ben Nevis visitor.

Can only agree with other reviewers. Excellent location, friendly helpful staff. Pitches are flat and plenty of space, many of the hardstanding areas have mains water supply and drainage at no extra cost.

Prices very reasonable especially when you look at the amount of work they do to keep the park in good condition. The showers etc were very good, plenty of hot water and space.

The restaurant (also owned by the estate) just up the road was very good. You can take a lovely walk along the river to the falls in Glen Nevis then back again through the forest where we spotted red squirrels in the trees, also spotted some birds of prey but not being a twitcher (except when OH is navigating) couldn't tell you what they were.

2 mile walk into Fort William, large Morrisons in town for stocking up and cheap fuel.

Excellent location close to the Nevis range and Fort William nestled in the stunning Scottish mountains. Nice flat pitches with plenty of space. No marked pitches.Just turn up and camp where you like.

Excellent facilities including washers, driers and plenty of clean hot showers, all very clean. Friendly and helpful staff and reasonably priced. Well stocked shop on site. Would definitely like to return here.

Can only re-iterate what other reviewers have said about this lovely camp-site. Unfortunately, we were not able to appreciate the scenery as the weather was appalling the one night we stayed - howling winds and heavy rain all night - and we cut short our stay as we were so fed-up with the weather. We'd tried to escape bad weather earlier that week on Skye, but seem to have brought it with us! The only niggle we have is that vehicles are not allowed on the grass right next to tents - we have a small pop-up tent and use our vehicle to prepare food and cook out of the back of, and we store the coolbox and dry foods in the van, too.

We may go back there another time to hopefully enjoy the promising scenery, but maybe then will have to endure the dreaded midgies!

Superb camp site with fantastic scenery. Pitches (for elec hook-up) were a very good size - even for a large tent like ours.

Picnic tables are provided for those travelling without 'furniture' which I thought was a nice touch!

Staff were all friendly and very helpful.

Shower/Toilet block was clean, and hot water was in plentiful supply (and the showers are free).

One of the best sites we have stayed at in the UK - we will definitely return!

Check the internet for the 'midge alert' before you travel - they were out in force during our visit and repellent is necessary. We were advised by the locals to use Avon Skin so Soft (even on our dog) and it did help!

Stayed here when we climbed ben nevis, which is 5 minutes walk away so very handy. Very clean, nice site. Tents can pitch wherever so common sense is required but there was lots of room between us and other tents. Toilets very clean, showers always hot, sockets in the toilet block were excellent for a quick charge up of the mobile and for using straighteners.

Would be handy if they cut the grass a little more often as every time I walked out of the tent my feet and legs were soaked.

We had a 'lads only' tent next to us, who returned at 1am very drunk, lots of noise til 2.30am, we decided to complain on our way out that morning, but were beaten to it by the site manager waking them up at 8.30 and informing them they had 30 mins to get off the site.

Nice to know that this behaviour isn't tolerated and is acted on swiftly.

Would definitely go back as its a good clean site meeting the requirements we needed.

Stayed at this campsite in a large tent with electric hook up. Ideal as a base for climbing Ben Nevis - wonderful location and scenery.

Toilet block was fantastic and showers were free and hot. Very good reasonably priced on site shop with a good stock of camping accessories.

Pub within walking distance although staff there were a little grumpy.

Highly recommended!

Excellent site. Superb location at the foot of Ben Nevis. Very efficient check in service. Very reasonable prices. Spacious level pitches, with hardstanding and grass. Well stocked shop with very courteous staff. Excellent toilet facilities and separate shower block.

Pub / restaurant a short walk along the road at the start of Ben Nevis ascent.

Had 2 night stay as part of fortnight round Scotland trip. Would definitely use again.

I can only reiterate the comments on the vast majority of the previous reviews for this site. Superb location right at the foot of Ben Nevis the site is large but doesn't feel so with several smaller areas making up the whole with great facilities that where always clean.

We (2 adults and 3 kids - 13, 9 and 2) arrived on saturday afternoon on the recent bank holiday weekend after reserving a non electric tent pitch. This turned out to be on the 'Spruce Field' and after a swift booking in procedure made our way to the area.

We had been somewhat apprehensive as we have a Hartford XL and wondered how cramped the pitches would be. However there was loads of space on the large flat field serviced by several water and refuse points that were emptied twice daily. The views where spectacular and throughout the weekend could not believe how despite the site filling everyone had plenty room.

The toilets where always clean and the individual shower cubicles had plenty room to sort the kids out with plenty hot water.

The site had a great atmosphere with families, walkers and motorcyclists all soaking up the sunshine (believe it or not) during our week long stay.

The restaurant and bar on site served great pub grub and we paid on average for 2 adults and 3 kids to eat 3 courses with plenty soft drinks and 2 bottles of wine around £100. Not cheap but that said if this place had been in the Lake District you could add another £50 onto that and not get as much or as good.

We did the Harry Potter train ride from Fort William to Mallaig crossing the viaduct in the films. The kids loved it but I enjoyed the drive along the same route much more.

The beaches at Morar just before Mallaig around 40 miles from the site are breathtaking. Pure white sand and turquoise water with the place almost deserted. We had a beach to ourselves on a sunny day during half term.

Likewise turning right out of the site leads to to plenty spots to stop by the river with small pebble beaches that you had to yourself. We also did the Loch Ness Experience. It was £18 for the 5 of us but was basically a large gift / tat shop with a brief info tour beforehand that essentially dispelled the myth.

The only other issue were the dreaded midges! Basically I think we were lucky with the weather but when they did arrive Avon's Skin so soft and the citronella candles seemed to work well.

The Highlands are spectacular and the site is superb. We will certainly return.
