August 2005 We stayed here for 6 nights and it was fantastic!
Very clean facilities, including hair dryers (but you could also take your own). Decent sized sculleries and a laundry, if needed (we didn't use it). Washing tablets were on sale in the well stocked shop.
The shop was well equipped for most things that you'd need whilst camping, including mozzie repellent and candles! Very handy........ They also sold a good little book detailing walks around the area, all starting from the campsite.
We used the on-site restaurant on the last night. It wasn't flash but it was good value for what we got (especially when compared to other places we'd seen).
We'll definitely be back!

July 2005 This is the first time we had been to this site and we were totally impressed.
Toilets were extremely clean, camp site relaxed and suitable for all.
The views were excellent,
Would certainly recommend that you visit.
There was no noise after 11pm at night, which all in attendance adhered to. So good night sleep to be had by all.

July 2005 A very big site with well organised and clean facilities - plenty of showers and toilets.
We didn't book and were welcomed at reception with no problem and told we could camp in all but one of the fields which sounded great BUT the camping fields were absolutely packed and we tried to leave a reasonable gap around our tent. We were shocked to then discover someone else squeezing into what was a now non-existent gap between us and the next tent - overlapping guys. This meant we had to keep our dog on a very short lead in the tent mostly.
A great place for a night which is all we had but not a full 'holiday'.
Excellent bacon roll from the van in the morning

July 2005 Have been six times going again in August. Always enjoyed our stay. Scenery breathtaking, if you like peaceful sites this is the one for you.
Lovely town of fort william nearby, always going to try somewhere else but just keep coming back, love it.
Haven't eaten in campsite, meant to be expensive, as we have a caravan we go shopping at the supermarket in fort william. There is also a Macdonalds, a chip shop in Caol is worth a visit.
We also visited skye and mallaig which are beautiful.

July 2005 Booked this site in advance and paid £2 admin charge - thought this was a bit unfair when we found our field was the far end of the site - however, when we realised our field was nearly empty and the fields for those who just turned up were full we changed our minds - so book in advance its worth the £2!
The site is well equipped and is located in beautiful scenery. There are picnic tables dotted around which you can use and plenty of water/bin areas so you don't have to trail too far with your rubbish.
The shower/toilet block is modern, bright, clean with shower and sink cubicles. There is also a laundry, well stocked shop and snack van. Just at the end of the site there is a bar/restarant where you can get a drink and a meal.
There were a few groups of people on our field (scouts, school groups etc) but they were really quite and we didn't have any problems getting in the showers even though the site was busy.
This was a really nice site to stay at and I would happily stay there again if we return to Fort William area.

June 2005 Have just returned from a touring holiday including 4 days at the Glen Nevis Campsite. This site is in the beautiful Glen Nevis looking up at the hills including Ben Nevis. Its very difficult to explain how beautifully situated this site is.
The sites are spacious and well laid out.
The facilites are excellent. I do however question why in the washing up room two sinks were for pots and two for cloths when there was in fact a separate laundry room. I never saw the sinks for cloths only used but did queue more than once to wash up.
Weather was brilliant sunshine which alway makes for a good holiday and it does help to keep the midges away. Day three brought some rain which didn't bother us but wish we could say the same for the midges it brought with it. Anyone know a repellent that actually works?

June 2005 Have visited this site a few times before and always enjoy going back. Scenery is amazing and lots to do in Fort William. If you have kids there is ten pin bowling and an big indoor soft play at the An Aird leisure complex next to Brewers Fayre. There is also a swimming pool and other facilities in Fort William. Plenty of lovely walks in the glen too. This time we were climbing Ben Nevis. Arrived on a beautiful friday evening and staff at reception were very nice and chatty and it was quite busy with lots of walkers checking in. Sign at reception says that this is a quiet site for walkers and families and not for you if you want a party atmosphere. Despite this we found ourselves near to three women who were drinking and shouting and making a noise. They later joined forces with a group of men and although it is meant to be all quiet after 11pm the music was still playing well after that. We never seen any wardens patrolling that night at all. Spent saturday climbing Ben Nevis and three days later as I'm writng this I still can't walk! Well worth it though. Saturday night was very quiet on site - everyone was exhausted from climbing! Will definitely be going back to this site but don't know if I'll ever climb Big Ben again!

August 2004 This is my favourite campsite in the World! I've stayed here 3 times and will be back in 2005
Having made it to the summit of Ben Nevis with my sister and our 4 dogs,it was great to know that our beds were at the bottom of the mountain!
The scenery is spectacular, the site spotless, on site facilities are excellent - shop, restaurant, bar, staff friendly and helpful.
What could be more exhilerating than to undo the zip of your tent at dawn and watch the low cloud sweep over the mountains? The calls of birds soaring above you, and in the knowledge that the day could mean hours of walking without seeing another person?
Fort William may be small, but has great little shops, along with the usual supermarket and fast food outlets.
For those who would like a bit of nostalgia or for those who have Harry Potter fans in the family, the steam train excursion to Mallaig is a must!
It's my number one!

September 2004 We stayed here two nights and it was pretty busy, understandably because it is in such a gorgeous location, right next to Ben Nevis. Really good atmosphere as everyone is either a cyclist, walker, mountaineer etc. Very well organised and clean. All the facilities you could need, including huge launderette (handy if you need to dry wet hiking/cycling gear).
Fort William is pretty small, if you are looking for good place for breakfast, eat at the Mountain ski centre - massive scottish breakfast and really cheap.
Would also recommend catching the ski-lift up Glen Coe for some amazing views.
A top place to stay.

August 2004 Excellent site. Gorgeous surroundings and really peaceful. Didn't have any problems with the warden and we were sitting outside our tent drinking until about 10.45, I think so long as you have consideration and talk quietly there isn't a problem.
The facilities were very good and felt really clean. The showers were pretty well designed so you weren't standing in 6 inches of water while you were getting dry and there was no timer so you didn't have to keep pressing the button!
Didn't go to the restaurant - saw a menu first and laughed at the prices and got burger and chips from the on-site take away van. Also got a breakfast roll from there in the morning too which made a change from cooking our own which was nice.
It was very reasonably priced too at £10.80 for 2 people in a tent. Will definitely return.
